"No way..."
Elliot had always had a vague feeling.
These Dream Creatures looked strange.
There were plenty of strange-looking species, but Dream Creatures were strange on an entirely different level.
Despite belonging to the same species, every individual looked different.
Not to mention that subtle sense of incompleteness.
Now, however, these gravely wounded Dream Creatures crawled laboriously together.
They hooked their limbs together, joining up one after another to form an enormous creature!
Those previously inexplicable limbs, like oddly shaped building blocks, became seamless and natural once assembled, giving anyone who saw them a sense of sudden understanding.
Not only the Dream Creatures-even the enormous Nightmares moved over.
They served as something like a skeleton, with countless Dream Creatures clinging to them, and like nerves within a body, linking pieces of flesh together.
As they assembled, Elliot could finally make out a vague outline.
It looked somewhat like a... tendril?

Yet even this small section of a limb bore countless details.
It resembled the tentacle of some soft-bodied creature, yet was thick and sturdy, exuding a tremendous sense of strength.
Eyeballs grew all over the tendril. They were still somewhat cloudy, but as the fusion continued, they rapidly became complete.
There also seemed to be octopus-like suckers on the tendril... no, those were not suckers!
Elliot soon discovered that they were actually mouths!
But those mouths looked somewhat strange. Black threads crisscrossed them, as though a crude tailor had forcibly sewn them shut with needle and thread!
As the fusion gradually neared completion, this enormous tendril lying limply on the ground slowly rose, as though life had been infused into it!
The Believers raised their
