In a single instant, many of the crows were killed.
They immediately cawed in alarm and instinctively tried to scatter, the black flames climbing over them, poised to spread along with them.
But as crows kept falling from the sky, they soon realized something was wrong. The panic faded from their eyes, replaced by ferocity.
After Dorothea's crows died, their intelligence declined as well. Their tiny brains could no longer process anything too complicated. All they could remember was the last thought left in their minds while they had still been intelligent.
They could not let these black flames spread. They could not flee anymore.
They screeched and charged, ignoring the flames on their bodies as they viciously pecked at the hand reaching through!
Each crow had the strength of an adult human. To a High-Rank Supernatural, that strength was so feeble it could be ignored, but the Dorotheas did indeed slow his attack!
Because they were attacking not only that Supernatural person, but also the mirror surface beside him.
Burning in the black flames, the crows had little ability to distinguish anything anymore. They were merely carrying out the last command remaining in their minds: charge forward and attack.
The image in the mirror immediately wavered, seemingly on the verge of collapsing, but a layer of solid ice swiftly formed wherever the black flames had burned, freezing the mirror surface and stabilizing it instead.
And after briefly stabilizing, the mirror surface actually began expanding and recovering!
This was almost impossible. Once an ability of this kind had been used, only its caster could continue pouring Spirituality into it.
For anyone else to control it, they had to be far stronger than the original caster and possess a superior replacement for the same ability, or at least a similar one.
