"So that's how it is. I understand."
Elliot nodded slowly. He had more or less sorted out the current situation.
The Royal Family had the advantage in military strength, so the nobles had chosen assassination. They had originally planned to use similar methods against Elliot, too.
But after these few clashes, the nobles had begun to increasingly overestimate Elliot's strength. Instead, they had started trying to target the Hearthfire District, leading to this influx of refugees.
"In other words, the nobles will continue to make the Hearthfire District their battlefield, committing their superior Church forces and armies to the fighting. Assassination will no longer be their primary method."
The Old Butler nodded slightly. "That is indeed the case in theory, but you must remain vigilant. Duke Helms's prophecies still cannot be underestimated."

But what Elliot found somewhat strange was that the Helms Family had not only recently come into existence. Why had they never made a move before?
Could it be... that they had restrictions of their own?
Elliot glanced at the Old Butler but did not ask him outright.
The Sterling Family's mansion was probably under close surveillance by the nobles. The walls had ears.
If Conrad really knew something, he would certainly find a way to tell him.
Besides, Elliot vaguely sensed that the Old Butler seemed to be making preparations of his own.
Lady Camilla and Evan had not been seen for quite some time. The Old Butler deliberately avoided mentioning them, and Elliot simply
