San Francisco, Section 13.
Jackie Chan's car stopped fifty meters from the entrance to Section 13.
Not because he wanted to stop.
The road was gone.
A massive fissure cut across the entire road leading to Section 13, wide enough to swallow a truck, with heat still rising from within.
"Oh~"
"My goodness, what happened here?"
Jackie opened the car door, leaped over the fissure, and jogged toward Section 13.
He saw it from a distance.
The roof of Section 13.
The once-domed, silver-gray roof that had sat on the ground like half an eggshell was now gone.
In its place was an enormous hole with jagged edges.
Rebar jutted from the concrete, as though something had forcibly torn it open from inside.
Jackie's heart sank.
He quickened his pace, rounded a pile of rubble, and rushed through Section 13's entrance.
The lobby was a wreck.
Captain Black stood amid the ruins, holding a flashlight in one hand and pressing his headset with the other, shouting at someone.
"Call the construction crew! Call the fire department! And seal off that passage. Don't let anyone in!"
He turned and saw Jackie.
"Jackie!"
Jackie ran up to him, panting.
"Black, how's the situation?"
Black shone his flashlight to one side.
"Naga's been dealt with."
Jackie followed the beam.
Beneath a nearby pile of rubble, a section of blue-green snake tail protruded, its scales dull and lusterless. The tip still twitched faintly, but there was no life left in it.
"Kali tore her apart."
"Right here in the lobby, in front of more than a dozen of us. That black woman went at her with all four arms. Naga didn't even get a chance to fight back."
Looking at the section of snake tail, Jackie felt a chill down his back.
"Where's Kali?"
