Footsteps sounded outside the door and finally stopped in front of the guest room.
A knock came at the door. The visitor was none other than Naoya Zenin.
Qingxiao paused slightly and instinctively looked toward the door, his brows drawing together as he went on full alert.
He just won't leave me alone. Should I find a chance to get rid of him...
At that thought, he zipped his suitcase shut, his body tensing slightly, and said in a low voice, "Come in."
The door slowly opened. Naoya Zenin cautiously stepped inside with his back bent and his head lowered, leaving just him and Qingxiao in the spacious guest room.
Naoya Zenin looked both wretched and ridiculous.
Yesterday, Qingxiao had shattered several of his teeth with a single punch and knocked him unconscious. His entire face was swollen, his cheeks mottled with bruises. His former handsome refinement and sharp arrogance were nowhere to be seen.
He didn't dare straighten up, keeping his back hunched the whole time and making himself as meek as possible. His face was full of earnest attempts to please and reverence, and he lacked even the courage to raise his head and meet Qingxiao's eyes.
His missing teeth made his speech lisping and indistinct, but he still worked hard to find his words, his manner utterly sincere.
Before Qingxiao could speak, Naoya Zenin hurried forward, his attitude so respectful it bordered on servile.
He held up an exquisitely finished black bank card in both hands, his waist bent at a perfect ninety-degree angle.
He offered it straight to Qingxiao, his lisping voice filled with respect for the strong and remorse for his earlier offense:
"S-Senior Qingxiao... Y-yesterday, I was blind. I didn't know my place, and I ran my mouth and offended you and Miss Ieiri.
