Qingxiao crouched and reached straight for Hajime Kashimo's carotid artery. It was still beating.
"He's fine." He nodded to Hana Kurusu.
"Thanks. I'll treat you to strawberry daifuku later. You can have Angel's share too."
Hana Kurusu waved a hand as she caught her breath, fine beads of sweat still clinging to her temples.
"No need... but Angel said she can't do anything about these injuries."
Qingxiao murmured an acknowledgment, his gaze sweeping over the charred cracks covering Hajime Kashimo's body.
He casually tore strips from the lining of his uniform and swiftly bound the severe wounds on Kashimo's chest and arms, keeping them from tearing open again from the jolting on the way.
As the cloth tightened, the unconscious man's brow knotted sharply, and half a faint, muffled groan escaped his lips.
Wind swept through with dust from the ruins. Qingxiao looked up at the figure not far away.
Takako Uro stood there, draped in his cloak.
Her expression was calm as she looked over from a distance. Her gaze lingered on Hajime Kashimo for half a second before returning to Qingxiao's face. She said nothing.
Qingxiao raised a hand to gesture at her and called out, his voice carrying clearly through the wind.
"Uro! Take Ryu Ishigori to Jujutsu High! Don't let wild dogs drag him off."
Takako Uro frowned.
She really did not want to look after Ryu Ishigori. That guy was nothing but trouble.
But she also knew this was no time to be fussy. After two seconds of silence, she gave a flat murmur of assent.
"Let's go." Qingxiao bent down and carefully hoisted Hajime Kashimo onto his back.
After two steps, he turned and tipped his chin at Uro, his reminder carrying a hint of irreverence.
"Remember to find some normal clothes to wear."
