Ch. 41This wasn't the end

Shunchen reached the Tombs of the Star Corridor after Satoru Gojo stopped Toji Fushiguro, but found Riko Amanai dead and Suguru Geto gravely wounded. As Shunchen treated Geto, he swore that Riko’s death would not be the end and that Toji would not escape.

  • Satoru Gojo blasted Toji Fushiguro through several walls with Cursed Technique Reversal: Red and told Shunchen to leave while he fought.
  • Shunchen found Misato Kuroi critically wounded, called Shoko for help, and rushed to the lowest level of the Tombs of the Star Corridor.
  • Shunchen found Suguru Geto wounded beside the shattered remains of Cursed Spirits and learned that Toji Fushiguro had shot and killed Riko Amanai.
  • Suguru Geto grieved that he and Satoru Gojo had failed to protect Riko after she chose to return with them.
  • Shunchen treated Geto with Reverse Cursed Technique and swore that the tragedy was not over and Toji would not get away.

Ch. 42Meaningless

Li Shunchen returned to the surface with Suguru Geto and found Riko Amanai dead after Satoru Gojo killed Toji Fushiguro with Hollow Technique: Purple. In the aftermath, Satoru Gojo considered killing the Time Vessel Association’s followers, while Suguru Geto restrained him; Shunchen later began investigating who had arranged the attack.

  • Satoru Gojo’s Hollow Technique: Purple erased a swath of Jujutsu High and fatally mutilated Toji Fushiguro, whose Storage Cursed Spirit spilled out Riko Amanai’s corpse.
  • Li Shunchen concealed his grief with mental pollution resistance and Life Is Like a Play as Satoru Gojo arrived, healed and emotionally altered.
  • Satoru Gojo proposed killing the Time Vessel Association’s leaders and followers, but Suguru Geto argued that killing ordinary followers would serve no purpose.
  • Shoko Ieiri treated Suguru Geto, and Satoru Gojo explained how Blue and Red produced Hollow Technique: Purple before telling Shunchen about Toji Fushiguro’s son.
  • The higher-ups took control of the Star Plasma Vessel’s affairs and refused to arrange a funeral for Riko Amanai, while Shunchen learned little about Misato Kuroi’s future.
  • Li Shunchen commissioned Mei Mei to investigate the Time Vessel Association and the person who had issued the mission.

Ch. 43I like you

Li Shunchen entered his third year at Jujutsu High while failing to reproduce Gojo’s Hollow Technique and watching Suguru Geto’s spirit deteriorate. After warning Yu Haibara about his dangerous mission, Li met Yuki Tsukumo and learned her plan to end the creation of cursed spirits.

  • Li Shunchen failed repeatedly to fuse opposing cursed energy forces and decided to focus on protecting those around him rather than learning to replicate souls.
  • At the start of his third year, Li drew the Natural Perfection [R] card and met the year’s only first-year, Kiyotaka Ijichi.
  • Li observed Suguru Geto growing thinner and more withdrawn as swallowing cursed spirits weighed on him.
  • After a mission, Li warned Yu Haibara to retreat if his assignment felt dangerous, knowing Haibara was headed toward a deadly Grade 1 Land God.
  • Yuki Tsukumo arrived and asked what kind of woman they liked; Li told her, “I like you,” while Geto and Haibara reacted with surprise.
  • Yuki Tsukumo introduced herself as a Special Grade Sorcerer and explained that she wanted to prevent cursed spirits from appearing by eliminating cursed energy or teaching everyone to control it.

Ch. 44Then whether you're Special Grade or anything else, I will kill you

Yuki Tsukumo discussed ways to eliminate Cursed Spirits with Suguru Geto and Shunchen, prompting Geto to suggest killing non-sorcerers. Shunchen exposed the endless slaughter that proposal would require and ended by threatening to kill Yuki if she supported such a future.

  • Yuki Tsukumo described Toji Fushiguro as proof of the power of having no Cursed Energy, then proposed making all humanity into sorcerers to stop Cursed Spirits from appearing.
  • Suguru Geto suggested killing everyone who was not a sorcerer, and Yuki Tsukumo acknowledged that the plan could force humanity to evolve while warning that the resulting curses might destroy the world.
  • Suguru Geto admitted that he no longer knew whether he despised non-sorcerers or rejected that feeling, and Yuki Tsukumo told him those were possibilities he would have to choose between.
  • Shunchen rejected Geto's proposal, arguing that sorcerer parents could have non-sorcerer children who would also be killed, making the purge an endless slaughter of infants.
  • Yuki Tsukumo sensed Shunchen's killing intent and warned him about her Special Grade power, but Shunchen declared that he would kill her if she stood on the side of a world built on slaughtering children.

Ch. 45What a Mortal Believed In

Li Shunchen confronted Yuki Tsukumo over her ideals, then watched Suguru Geto crumble after learning that Tengen remained stable despite Riko Amanai’s death. Later, Li saved Kento Nanami’s arm after Nanami and Yu Haibara survived a misclassified Grade 1 curse, and he resolved to hold Jujutsu Society’s higher-ups accountable.

  • Li Shunchen told Yuki Tsukumo he would kill her if she pursued her plan, and she withdrew her threat to make the world a hell.
  • Yuki Tsukumo told Suguru Geto that Tengen was stable and suggested another Star Plasma Vessel had been available, leaving Geto devastated over Riko Amanai’s sacrifice.
  • Li Shunchen reattached Kento Nanami’s severed arm with Reverse Cursed Technique while Yu Haibara apologized for being too weak to protect him.
  • Kento Nanami explained that Li’s warning had prompted him to flee a supposed Grade 2 mission when its Land God revealed Grade 1 strength, saving both Nanami and Haibara.
  • Li Shunchen decided to have Masamichi Yaga demand an explanation from the higher-ups for the fatal intelligence error.

Ch. 46Sorcerers, Expendables, Monsters

Li Shunchen recognized the remote village mission as the place where Suguru Geto had massacred 112 villagers in a previous simulation, so he sent the assistant supervisor away and tried to guide Geto through his doubts about ordinary people. The village chief then revealed that villagers had locked two girls in a chained house and called them monsters, leaving Geto confronting the implications.

  • Masamichi Yaga told Li Shunchen that the higher-ups had disguised the original Grade 2 mission payment as relief money for Kento Nanami and Yu Haibara, and Shunchen saw how little they valued the injured sorcerers.
  • Two days later, Kento Nanami and Yu Haibara left for another mission, while Nanami appeared exhausted and disgusted with Jujutsu Society.
  • Li Shunchen received an urgent mission assigning him and Suguru Geto to investigate a remote village, which he remembered as the site of Geto's future massacre in a previous simulation.
  • Li Shunchen persuaded the assistant supervisor to leave the village and told Suguru Geto that ordinary people feared sorcerers as aberrations too.
  • The village chief demanded that Suguru Geto kill two supposed monsters locked in a chained wooden house, and Geto began to question who they really were.

Ch. 47Make some preparations

Shunchen stopped the village chief from opening the hut so Suguru Geto could prepare himself for the human cursed energy inside. Geto understood that two young sorcerers had been abused by the villagers, but after Shunchen warned him not to embrace his plan to kill non-sorcerers, Geto coldly ordered him to open the door.

  • The village chief led Shunchen to the hut where the villagers had imprisoned the supposed monsters, but Shunchen stopped him from unlocking it.
  • Shunchen asked Suguru Geto if he could sense the faint cursed energy of two people inside the hut.
  • Geto pieced together that the villagers had chained and abused two young Jujutsu Sorcerers, and he grew overwhelmed with rage.
  • Shunchen warned Geto not to use what lay behind the door to justify his plan to kill non-sorcerers.
  • Geto ignored the warning and ordered Shunchen to open the door, as the villagers remained unaware of the danger.

Ch. 48Would you still remain unmoved?! Li Shunchen!! Answer me!

Suguru Geto found two abused girls caged by the villagers and decided to kill the non-sorcerers, but Li Shunchen stopped his Cursed Spirit Manipulation and fought him. The chapter ended with Li revealing that he had mastered Reverse Cursed Technique as the fight continued.

  • Suguru Geto discovered two injured girls locked in a cage and learned the village chief accused them of causing the disappearances.
  • After the chief said the girls should have been killed as babies, Suguru Geto resolved to slaughter the villagers.
  • Li Shunchen used Nagi Daytime Prohibition to suppress Suguru Geto's Cursed Spirit Manipulation and argued that he must not take justice into his own hands.
  • Suguru Geto kicked Li Shunchen into a dead tree, but Li's injuries healed almost instantly.
  • Li Shunchen revealed that he had mastered Reverse Cursed Technique and charged at Suguru Geto again.

Ch. 49If only you were the one with special grade power...

Shunchen tried to stop Suguru Geto from turning against the villagers, but Geto killed the village chief and unleashed a massacre. Shunchen survived Geto’s Maximum Technique: Uzumaki with grave injuries, while Geto escaped with the twin girls and was designated for execution.

  • Shunchen pleaded with Suguru Geto to abandon his plan and promised to change the jujutsu world, but Geto rejected his appeal.
  • Suguru Geto revealed the Chain of a Thousand Miles and killed the village chief, prompting the villagers to flee in terror.
  • Shunchen attacked Geto with Asagirimaru, but Geto used Maximum Technique: Uzumaki; Shunchen’s copied Limitless failed, and the attack tore through his abdomen.
  • Suguru Geto released his cursed spirits, slaughtered the villagers, and rescued the twin girls while Shunchen lay critically wounded.
  • An assistant supervisor found Shunchen and brought him to Jujutsu High; a report confirmed 112 villagers had died, identified Geto as responsible, and designated him for execution.
  • Shoko Ieiri treated the comatose Shunchen in a Jujutsu High operating room and lamented that he and other self-righteous people needed saving themselves.

Ch. 50You... what the hell are you apologizing for?!

Li Shunchen resisted the abyss’s temptations and tried to save Suguru Geto, but could not stop him from sinking beneath the weight of his crimes. After Shunchen awoke in the hospital, Satoru Gojo and Masamichi Yaga told him Geto had killed 112 villagers and apparently his parents; Gojo angrily rejected Shunchen’s attempt to blame himself.

  • In a vision of the abyss, Shunchen refused to use Asagirimaru against Sato, Naoya Zenin, Toji Fushiguro, and the others who tried to drag him down.
  • Shunchen released Asagirimaru and grabbed Suguru Geto, but the villagers Geto had killed pulled them both toward the abyss, and Geto slipped from Shunchen’s grasp.
  • Shunchen awoke in the hospital as Masamichi Yaga told Satoru Gojo that Geto had injured Shunchen, killed 112 villagers, and apparently killed his parents.
  • Shunchen apologized for failing to stop Geto, and Satoru Gojo shouted that he was not responsible for failing to stop a Special Grade Sorcerer.
  • Masamichi Yaga pulled Gojo away from Shunchen and punched him for shouting at a seriously injured patient.

Ch. 51He Is the Biggest Obstacle

While recovering at Jujutsu High, Li Shunchen prepared a mission report to protect the Assistant Supervisor and others from blame as Suguru Geto’s plans became clear. After confronting Geto in Shinjuku, Satoru Gojo let him leave and returned to Jujutsu High grappling with the limits of his strength.

  • Li Shunchen wrote a detailed mission report from his hospital bed, while Yu Haibara and Kento Nanami visited him, shaken by his injuries and Suguru Geto’s betrayal.
  • Shoko Ieiri encountered Suguru Geto in Shinjuku, heard that he intended to create a world with only sorcerers, and contacted Satoru Gojo.
  • Satoru Gojo confronted Suguru Geto, who declared that Li Shunchen was the greatest obstacle to his plan and defended his killings as serving the Greater Good.
  • Satoru Gojo charged Hollow Purple but could not bring himself to kill Suguru Geto, who walked away.
  • Back at Jujutsu High, Satoru Gojo told Masamichi Yaga that his strength alone was not enough to save people who would not accept help, and he felt isolated from Li Shunchen and Suguru Geto.

Ch. 52Icarus

Li Shunchen experimented with replicating Suguru Geto’s Maximum: Uzumaki but stopped after realizing the cost would force him down a path he could never surpass Geto on. Still determined to oppose Jujutsu Society, he was dragged away by Satoru Gojo to collect an inheritance.

  • Li Shunchen sensed a faint spark of Maximum Technique while using Cursed Spirit Manipulation to combine two fly heads.
  • Li Shunchen abandoned the experiment because sustaining it would require him to sacrifice Phantom Parade’s versatility and imitate Suguru Geto’s destructive path.
  • Li Shunchen resolved to keep pursuing revenge against Jujutsu Society despite recognizing the gulf between himself and the strongest sorcerers.
  • Masamichi Yaga and Shoko Ieiri grew concerned as Li Shunchen continuously operated Cursed Spirit Manipulation and seemed to punish himself over Suguru Geto’s departure.
  • Satoru Gojo burst into Li Shunchen’s room, hauled him out, and said they were going to collect an important inheritance.

Ch. 53I might never be much of a father

Satoru Gojo brought Shunchen to meet Megumi Fushiguro and asked whether Megumi would join the Zenin Clan. After Shunchen warned that Tsumiki would suffer there, Gojo arranged for Megumi to live under Shunchen’s care, hoping to give Shunchen a reason to stop obsessing over Cursed Spirit Manipulation.

  • Satoru Gojo introduced Megumi Fushiguro as Toji Fushiguro’s son and explained that the Zenin Clan might want to claim him.
  • Megumi Fushiguro said he cared more about Tsumiki’s happiness than his own fate, and Shunchen warned that the Zenin Clan would make her life worse.
  • Satoru Gojo promised to cover Megumi’s expenses, then appointed Shunchen to care for and teach him while admitting he was too busy.
  • Shunchen understood that Gojo wanted to keep him from destroying himself through guilt and obsession, and he agreed to raise Megumi.
  • Shunchen promised Megumi that he would help him gain the strength to choose his own life.

Ch. 54Their father's friends

You and Satoru Gojo found Megumi Fushiguro and Tsumiki living in a cramped, neglected apartment and promised to take care of them. After Megumi agreed to trust you, you arranged a safer home and had Satoru cover the expenses, leaving Megumi relieved in his new surroundings.

  • You and Satoru Gojo entered Megumi Fushiguro and Tsumiki’s cramped but carefully kept home and reflected on Toji Fushiguro’s neglect of his children.
  • Tsumiki asked who you and Satoru were, and Megumi called you their father’s friends.
  • You told the children you would look after them, and Megumi decided they should trust you because they had few alternatives.
  • You arranged for Megumi and Tsumiki to move to a safer upscale area in Tokyo, keeping them in ordinary schools rather than sending them to Jujutsu High.
  • You made Satoru pay the moving costs and future expenses, then watched Megumi relax somewhat in his new home.

Ch. 55"Ten Shadows Technique"

Shunchen analyzed Megumi Fushiguro’s cursed energy and discovered that Megumi possessed the Ten Shadows Technique, then demonstrated its Divine Dogs. Gojo revealed the technique’s dangerous potential and the history behind the Gojo and Zenin clans, leaving him to reconsider their plans for Megumi.

  • Gojo took Megumi and Shunchen to a secluded riverside wasteland, where Shunchen raised a Curtain to conceal their examination.
  • Shunchen used Phantom Parade to analyze Megumi’s cursed energy and learned how the Ten Shadows Technique worked.
  • Shunchen summoned the Divine Dogs, and Megumi happily petted them as Gojo studied the technique with the Six Eyes.
  • Gojo explained that a past Gojo clan head with the Six Eyes and Limitless had fought a Ten Shadows user, and both had died.
  • Gojo called off their previous plans after confirming Megumi’s technique, then hurried him home for dinner.

Ch. 56The possibility of multiple cursed techniques

The narrator studied the Ten Shadows Technique, subjugated several shikigami, and discovered that the technique’s contracts persisted across Phantom Parade simulations. After Megumi Fushiguro’s inherited technique became known, the narrator found Zenin Clan men waiting for him outside school.

  • Satoru Gojo gave the narrator a Gojo Clan record explaining the Ten Shadows Technique, its shikigami, subjugation rituals, and inheritance rules.
  • The narrator subjugated Rabbit Escape, Nue, Great Serpent, Toad, Max Elephant, and Piercing Ox, but Nue was destroyed during the fight with Piercing Ox.
  • Nue’s traits passed to the Divine Dogs, transforming them into the winged, lightning-wreathed shikigami Qu.
  • The narrator discovered that shikigami subjugation persisted after Phantom Parade ended and that a summoned shikigami could continue its final command after the technique was switched off.
  • The narrator recognized that Ten Shadows consumed vast amounts of cursed energy and taught Megumi Fushiguro the insights gained through practice.
  • After Megumi Fushiguro’s Ten Shadows Technique became known to the Zenin Clan, the narrator found him surrounded by men in traditional kimono outside school.

Ch. 57An unexpected reunion

The narrator intervened when Naoya Zenin cornered young Megumi Fushiguro and insulted him over his weakness and Ten Shadows Technique. Recognizing the narrator as a former victim from a simulation, Naoya turned his contempt on them, and their confrontation began.

  • Naoya Zenin inspected Megumi Fushiguro, scorned his weakness, and resented that he had inherited the Ten Shadows Technique.
  • Naoya mocked Megumi for being sold to the Zenin Clan and warned him not to embarrass the clan.
  • The narrator struck Naoya's hand away and stood between him and Megumi.
  • Naoya recognized the narrator as a Grade 2 sorcerer known for copying cursed techniques and taunted them about their reputation.
  • Remembering how Naoya had used them as a human shield in a simulation, the narrator ordered him and his people to leave.
  • Naoya's smile vanished as he threatened the narrator for disrespecting him.

Ch. 58Making Proper Use of the Rules

Shunchen countered Naoya Zenin’s surprise attack, but Naoya used the Kukuru Unit to seize Megumi Fushiguro and escape in a car. After enduring the attendants’ blows without using jujutsu, Shunchen knocked one of them unconscious and faced the remaining two.

  • Naoya attacked Shunchen with Projection Sorcery, but Shunchen disrupted its frames with Cursed Technique Reversal and tripped him.
  • Naoya ordered the Kukuru Unit to seize Megumi, and its members grabbed the boy while blocking Shunchen.
  • Naoya took Megumi to his car and drove away as three Kukuru members beat Shunchen.
  • Shunchen endured the attacks, then struck the largest Kukuru member hard enough to send him flying unconscious.
  • Shunchen turned on the two remaining Kukuru members and told them they were next.

Ch. 59The Greatest Difference Between Humans and Beasts

After Naoya Zenin took Megumi, the protagonist rode with Mei Mei to the Zenin Clan, determined to rescue him alone and demonstrate strength without provoking a clan war. On the way, Mei Mei shared evidence linking a mysterious woman with stitches on her forehead to the Time Vessel Association, giving the protagonist a new lead in the search for the hidden mastermind.

  • The protagonist defeated the Zenin Clan branch-family thugs, called Mei Mei, and asked her to drive to the Zenin Clan to retrieve Megumi.
  • Mei Mei advised the protagonist to involve Satoru Gojo, but the protagonist refused, wanting to avoid escalating the rescue into a conflict between the Gojo and Zenin Clans.
  • The protagonist recalled the Zenin estate's layout and planned to infiltrate it, rescue Megumi, and make Naoya fear further harassment.
  • Mei Mei gave the protagonist interview notes about the Time Vessel Association, whose former leader had secretly obeyed an unidentified woman.
  • The protagonist noticed that witnesses independently described the woman as having obvious stitches on her forehead.

Ch. 60Poisonous envy

The infiltrator searched the Zenin estate for Naoya and Megumi, but Ogi Zenin caught them and learned they had come to rescue Toji’s son. When the infiltrator revealed a mutated shikigami using the Ten Shadows Technique, Ogi attacked in a jealous rage, leaving the fight at the moment of his flaming slash.

  • The infiltrator used Mei Mei’s crow surveillance and their own concealment to search Naoya’s residence, but found it empty.
  • Ogi Zenin ambushed the infiltrator with a sword slash, and the infiltrator said they had come to take their abducted student, Toji Zenin’s son, back unharmed.
  • Ogi recognized the implications of Megumi inheriting the Ten Shadows Technique and chose to attack the infiltrator rather than help them.
  • The infiltrator revealed a mutated shikigami called Qu, combining Divine Dog: White with the power of Nue.
  • Ogi flew into a rage at the apparent use of the Ten Shadows Technique by an outsider and unleashed his Brow-Burning Slash at the infiltrator and Qu.
