The sea roared!
Black clouds loomed as though threatening to crush the city. Dark clouds billowed overhead, thunder exploded, and dazzling lightning danced like silver snakes.
Boom!!!
A bolt of lightning slashed down from the heavens like a sharp sword, striking the sea without warning.
The dim sky suddenly lit up with thunderous lightning, revealing an apocalyptic scene before the ninjas' eyes.
It was as though a pair of invisible hands kept pushing the increasingly violent waves higher, sending them crashing madly toward the coast.
"It's coming!"
Hyuga Hiashi watched the scene before him with a grave expression. It resembled a natural disaster, and he knew the tsunami the enemy had expended tremendous effort to create was about to arrive.
The scene on the sea now was a sign that could not have been clearer.
Fortunately, the Allied Shinobi Forces had prepared in advance. If they had encountered this situation without warning, it truly would have been a tremendous disaster.
"Reporting! Mission complete!"
Just as Hyuga Hiashi stared intently at the sea with his Byakugan, a ninja appeared behind him to report.
He immediately turned to look. "Have all the trenches and tunnels been dug?"
"Yes, with the Sixth Division giving it their all, the flood channels are complete!" The reporting ninja knelt on one knee and continued, "But because time was so tight, the trenches we dug won't be very effective."
"Not very effective?"
"Yes, sir. These channels can withstand two waves of tsunami surges at most. Any more, and they'll collapse completely and become unusable."
Hearing this, Hyuga Hiashi felt reassured. That was already enough. The enemy could not turn ordinary tides into an excessively powerful tsunami, either.
So both headquarters and Hyuga Hiashi himself understood this clearly.
All they needed to defend against was a single tsunami
