"Sasuke Uchiha!!!"
Shin roared, his voice hoarse and distorted from his scorched throat. "You bastard!!! What gives you the right... what gives you the right to deny me!!!"
Sasuke stood quietly in place, his hands in his pockets, watching everything coldly.
The glow of the black flames reflected in his piercing Mangekyō Sharingan.
"I transplanted Sharingan into myself! I gained the power of the Uchiha! I even have the Mangekyō Sharingan!"
Shin was still clamoring, even as the black flames began to engulf his body. "I deserve the Uchiha name more than you do! You don't understand anything!"
"Aah-!!!"
The black flames burned through his skin, exposing the muscle tissue beneath, then turned it to charcoal in an instant.
Shin's arm had already been reduced to blackened bone, yet he still waved that ruined hand toward Sasuke.
"I won't accept this! I won't accept this!!!"
"My dream... to build a Uchiha Clan of my own! I could have done it!!"
Shin's legs had already burned away, and his body fell to its knees, yet he still held his head high, staring fixedly at Sasuke with those Mangekyō Sharingan that had already begun to melt.
"Sasuke! Remember this!! Even if I die, my will won't disappear!!!"
"Someday, someone will inherit my dream! Someone will replace you and become a true Uchiha!!!"
Sasuke tilted his head slightly, his tone flat as he stated a fact.
"No."
"Because you were never an Uchiha to begin with."
Shin's furious roar cut off abruptly.
The black flames completely engulfed the last of his features, and on that twisted, furious, defiant face, the light of the Sharingan finally went out.
Behind him, the clones' corpses were likewise covered in black flames.
They did not scream as Shin had, because they had never woken up in the
