"This isn't a good place to talk. You two, come with me first."
With those brief words, Sasuke said no more. He walked straight past Naruto toward the other end of the bridge.
Naruto paused, then turned and followed him. "You... can't you say a little more?"
"I've said everything."
"You-"
Watching the two bicker just as they always had, Sakura couldn't help laughing softly.
It felt as though they were back in their younger days.
"Stop fooling around." Sakura hurried after them and stepped between the two. "We've still got work to do."
The three soon left the crowds behind and came to a quiet spot by themselves.
Sasuke stopped, glanced at Naruto leaning against a large tree, then looked at Sakura standing nearby. "The results of your searches..."
Sakura spoke first. "I didn't find the slightest trace of a base in the Land of Rivers!"
"I searched practically the entire area and came up empty."
"So after dealing with a few insignificant wandering ninja, I headed straight for the Land of Waves."
Sasuke looked at Naruto.
Naruto dropped his smile and grew much more serious.
He briefly described the situation in the Land of Waterfalls.
He had nothing worth hiding from Sasuke and Sakura, so naturally, he told them everything.
Sasuke's eyes lit up the instant he heard that Naruto had found a base.
But once he learned the details, he let out a helpless sigh.
Naruto noticed the change in Sasuke's expression and patted his shoulder reassuringly. "It's not my fault we didn't find anything."
"Besides, we knew from the start that we couldn't find a base every time."
Sasuke nodded. "I understand."
"And you didn't come away completely empty-handed. The documents in that base might bring Konoha some benefits."
Seeing that Sasuke didn't seem too bothered,
