Allen left Hill Village to seek a path into the wider world, surviving a spider attack, bandits, and a water elemental on his way to Dalaran. After learning he had no magical affinity, he pursued a hidden lead in a Goblin's biography and uncovered a buried iron box in Greenwood Forest.

• As a child, Wang Lu found a damaged book in his great-uncle’s shrine, later deciphered its hidden verses, and practiced them for years before an earthquake killed him and rebirthed him as Allen in Lordaeron.
• Allen earned Old Jack’s trust, learned to read and train, then left Hill Village at fifteen to become an adventurer after wolves attacked the village.
• Allen joined the Mason Caravan, survived a Venom Spider attack, and witnessed bandits destroy the caravan and capture the female mage before he escaped with Joey’s belongings.
• Allen freed villagers from bandits, defeated their leaders, and traveled with the villagers to Morien Castle, where he obtained travel papers by claiming to study under a powerful mentor.
• Allen crossed Kaltz, defeated a water elemental by breaking the runes on its hands, and reached Dalaran with a caravan.
• Allen read about magic and took an aptitude test, but the test showed he had no magical affinity, so he continued searching the library for another path.
• Allen found clues in Jinlun’s biography that led him to an abandoned hunter’s cabin in Greenwood Forest, where he uncovered a rusty iron box beneath a carved potion-bottle design.

Allen developed his alchemy and magic, survived a dangerous expedition in Silverpine Forest, and advanced through Dalaran’s ranks while creating new spells. The arc ended with Allen becoming a certified Alchemy Master as political tensions in the Kirin Tor unsettled the city.

• Allen uncovered Graia Goldwheel’s account of his murder, studied his healing potion formula, and began experimenting with a Water Elemental Heart as a source of magical power.
• Allen learned to brew Healing Potions reliably, earned his Alchemy Apprentice badge, joined Dalaran, and studied magic while building a potion business.
• Allen’s mental power transformed and created a soul space, allowing him to prepare spell runes, and he made a Soul Book that stored his energy.
• Allen joined a mission to Silverpine Forest, where he guided Ryan’s squad through attacks by corrupted beasts and helped them discover a fragment of a Magic Source.
• Allen returned to Dalaran, earned Full Mage certification, and later explored Silverpine Forest for Winter Mushrooms, which he traded to Rex for Illusion Incense and potion formulas.
• Allen created new spells including Whirlwind, passed his Second-Rank Mage exam, and became a teaching assistant, where he met and advised Khadgar.
• Allen witnessed the rift between Kel'Thuzad and Antonidas deepen after the Kirin Tor rejected Kel'Thuzad’s proposal and cut supplies to his Alchemy Association.

Allen cured the soldiers poisoned in Death Valley, rescued Hill Village from Andre, and built a mercenary company while investigating souls and helping Therris recover. He then took George, Baze, and Rivis under his care, returned to Dalaran, and received Khadgar’s account of Medivh’s mission and the Horde envoy.

• Allen prepared for his journey, comforted Khadgar about becoming Medivh’s apprentice, and left Dalaran for Kaltz.
• Allen discovered that Death Valley’s spores were poisoning the soldiers and developed an antidote with Rhys, earning Hannes’s gratitude.
• Allen returned to Hill Village, freed its villagers from Andre’s forced labor, treated the injured, and gave the bereaved families compensation.
• Allen accepted Eland’s mercenary company, organized its training and equipment, and killed the Shadow Wolf attacking the caravan.
• Allen investigated Therris’s damaged soul, developed an array to guide it with the Incantation, and helped him recover before leaving Brill.
• Allen found George, took Rivis, George, and Baze under his care, and began teaching them the Incantation, Common, and combat.
• Allen returned to Dalaran with the boys and learned Hurricane, while Khadgar wrote that Medivh had rescued him during an investigation and captured a half-orc Horde envoy.

Allen joined the Alliance’s war against the Orcs, helping Lothar plan a deception that drew enemy forces away from Boulder'gor. As Khadgar disrupted Gul'dan’s communications, the Alliance began its assault, and Allen found his soul space strengthened by the battle’s residual soul power.

• Allen became George’s follower and put him in charge of managing the apprentices’ needs and selling potions.
• After hearing from Khadgar about Medivh and the Orcs, Allen joined Jerris’s regiment, sensed danger near Thoradin’s Wall, and helped the survivors escape a disastrous raid.
• Allen advised Lothar and fought alongside the Alliance in successful attacks against Orc forces, while Terenas reformed the Alliance and created the Order of the Silver Hand.
• Allen proposed drawing the Orcs away from Stonefist Hold so the Alliance could seize Boulder'gor, and Lothar adopted the plan despite his doubts about Orgrim’s response.
• Lothar’s forces used false troop numbers and staged movements to mislead Orgrim, then retreated toward the woods and ambushed Kilrogg’s probing force.
• Lothar ordered a surprise attack on Boulder'gor, while Khadgar and Allen helped disrupt Gul'dan’s magical communications and defeated his attempt to break their magic circle.
• Khadgar absorbed the gathered chaotic mana into three Nefal Spheres and teleported the mages to Boulder'gor, where he launched the spheres at the fortress gate as Allen’s soul space rapidly recovered.
