First Appearance Chapter 1: “Transmigration to Another World” 1

Power Progression

Temporary Berserk increases and later combat-strength assessments are distinguished from his underlying cultivation. Physical advancement, divine-law realms, and external sources of willpower are recorded separately where the distinction is explicit.

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
First-level warrior 2 Already established at this level after transmigration. The Qi Accumulation Form yields little improvement, so he begins practicing Taijiquan from his Earth memories.
Second-level warrior 4 A retrospective account attributes his breakthrough to a grueling run that pushed him to his limits.
Late second-level warrior 4 Reaches this stage after a month of military training, magical beast meat, and cultivation methods from his previous life; selected for the Elite Camp.
Fifth-level combat strength — first Berserk awakening 5 His mutated soul triggers a self-preservation response against a fifth-level Thunder Eagle, temporarily increasing his physical capabilities.
Late third-level warrior 6 Awakens after the Thunder Eagle battle having advanced an entire level; subsequently gains an epiphany about cultivation and applying strength.
Fourth-level warrior; voluntary Berserk activation 7 Advances during three months of training. Thousands of trials make Berserk activation voluntary, though its output fluctuates from early fifth to early sixth level, usually settling at late fifth level.
Peak seventh-level combat strength — uncontrolled Berserk 18 Breaks through his Berserk limits while protecting Xiaoman from the Swift Raptor. The frenzy overwhelms his reason and severely damages his meridians.
Early fifth-level warrior 24 Advances while recuperating in the cave as his damaged meridians are repaired and widened. Berserk approaches late sixth-level strength but initially lasts only a quarter of an hour.
Middle fifth-level warrior 34 Reaches this stage after six months of intensive military training. His earlier meridian injuries have fully cleared.
Late fifth-level warrior 36 Breaks through under the pressure of three peak sixth-level opponents at Laiyang. After consolidation, Berserk raises him to early seventh-level strength.
Peak fifth-level warrior 39 Three days of cultivating the Destruction Battle Qi Technique raise his underlying cultivation and strengthen its compatibility with Berserk.
Peak seventh-level combat strength — Destruction Battle Qi-enhanced Berserk 39 Unleashes this improved transformation during the Shadow Alliance assault, killing two sixth-level warriors before stronger enemies surround him.
Peak eighth-level warrior 45 Achieves this rank through three and a half years of seclusion. Berserk is initially described as raising his strength to peak ninth rank; he also begins touching the Destruction Laws.
Saint-level spiritual power; “false Saint” 45 A three-day enlightenment into Fate raises his spiritual power beyond that of ordinary Saint mages without advancing his battle qi. He still lacks magical power and cannot condense Saint power.
Saint-class combat capability — later assessment 49 Controlled Berserk is described as bringing his physical strength to the Saint threshold; combined with the Destruction Laws, his combat strength approaches peak Saint level. This is not a stated breakthrough in his underlying warrior rank.
Saint-threshold Berserk breakthrough in battle 59 After a Saint Warrior’s ambush severely wounds him, Berserk restores enough strength for him to block the Saint’s palm strike and counterattack. The battlefield breakthrough is not a confirmed advancement of his underlying battle qi to Saint.
Middle ninth-level warrior 65 Advances through steady cultivation in Klan’s Seclusion Secret Realm. His actual warrior cultivation remains below Saint despite his much greater combat strength.
Saint-pinnacle combat strength; Slaughter Heaven Saint 70 Defeats the veteran Earth Sword Saint Debangsen head-on. His title and Saint-pinnacle reputation refer to demonstrated combat strength rather than a newly stated battle qi breakthrough.
Genuine Saint warrior 72 73 Ten years of seclusion fuse his battle qi with the Four Edicts and finally raise his underlying warrior cultivation to Saint, granting eternal life.
Half-step to godhood 89 His breakthrough on the Far East Prairie is confirmed retrospectively during his journey to the Yulan Empire.
Near God-level; Life Law at 99 percent and Death Law at 80 percent 97 Ten years in Kailin’s Palace of God greatly deepen his comprehension. His combat strength increases severalfold and becomes sufficient to fight an ordinary God-level expert, although he has not yet attained godhood.
Stabilized Saint Apex; introductory four-law fusion 113 114 118 Shatters the Shadow True God’s lingering will while still a mortal Saint, then stabilizes his cultivation and creates a killing technique combining physical and soul attacks through four-law fusion.
Fate Lowgod — external godhood 123 Chooses external godhood and splits his soul to form a Fate divine body. His Four-Element Mutated Soul gives him an exceptional ability to endure the process.
Life Lowgod; three-system divine-power fusion established 134 142 Attains godhood through Life. By the Tomb of the Gods battles, he possesses Life, Fate, and Destruction divine powers and combines them with Fate–Destruction law fusion.
Lowgod with stated 150-fold combat amplification 142 143 144 Unleashes the chapter’s stated hundred-and-fiftyfold combat strength through law fusion and three-system divine-power fusion, overwhelming ten Midgods and one hundred Lowgods.
Four-system Lowgod; Six-Star Fiend combat strength 154 His battle against Di Lige brings his Death Law to Lowgod completion. Seven years of training leave him with four Lowgod Divine Cores and overall combat strength matching a Six-Star Fiend Highgod.
Peak Six-Star Fiend combat strength with Berserk 154 158 167 Berserk doubles his combat strength and artifact powers at this stage. He battles and defeats the peak Six-Star Fiend Dragon Venerable while remaining a Lowgod.
Midgod-level physical body; Lowgod cultivation retained 166 A year of four-system divine-power tempering advances his body to Midgod without changing his Divine Cores or nominal Lowgod realm.
Transcendent divine weapons and Four Extremes formation 210 211 212 Fifty years of faith-based forging transform his four blades and greatly improve combat strength without advancing his cultivation realm. Their formation can restrain Seven-Star Fiend-class opponents, though a guaranteed kill remains unproven at this point.
Perfected Heavenly Manifestation; early Seven-Star Fiend strength 215 216 217 Ten years of practice perfect the ability. His manifested body temporarily rivals a Highgod’s, and his raw combat strength reaches early Seven-Star Fiend level; his normal strength remains peak Six-Star Fiend.
Death Law at the forty-second level 271 After forty years in the Demonic Grotto, Death approaches Highgod while Life remains below Midgod. His normal combat strength is at the absolute limit of Six-Star Fiend.
Death sealed at the limit of Midgod 275 Under the Other Shore Divine Plant’s perfected Death Law, he restrains Death at the forty-ninth point nine layer rather than entering Highgod before Life catches up.
Perfect three-law fusion; peak Seven-Star Fiend normal strength 273 283 285 Completes fusion of Fate, Destruction, and Death and develops the ability to glimpse dangerous future trajectories. Heavenly Manifestation and his four blades remain concealed trump cards.
Midgod in all four systems; Highgod-level body 295 309 Life advances to Midgod, balancing all four divine powers. His body transforms to Highgod level, and his mutated soul is also assessed at Highgod level; he still lacks his own Highgod God Domain.
Death Highgod; Other Shore Flower’s Paragon willpower awakened 322 Unseals Death during the journey to the Life Secret Realm. The resulting imbalance initially lowers his personal combat strength, but the awakened blade soul grants access to Paragon willpower.
Destruction Highgod; Asura-limit combat eruption 329 330 Advances in Destruction. With Heavenly Manifestation, four-system power, and the Other Shore Flower’s will, his full combat strength is described as reaching the Asura limit.
Life Highgod; personal willpower awakened 338 342 343 Eight years of cultivation aided by the Life Divine Tree’s Life Fruits raise his Life Clone to Highgod and awaken his own willpower. His perfected true-heart will combines with the Other Shore Flower blade spirit’s will to contend with power beyond two ordinary Paragons.
Fate Highgod; all four systems balanced at Highgod 352 353 Completes Fate under the threat of Lingmeng Overgod’s strike. Balanced four-law fusion reconstructs his body to Sovereign Artifact standards, while three additional portions of universal willpower bring his total to approximately seven complete portions.
Breaks an Overgod’s strike 353 354 Uses his transformed foundation to break Lingmeng Overgod’s attack. This feat does not establish that he has attained the Overgod realm himself.

History

Transmigration and Enlistment

Shiheng’s previous incarnation was an ordinary Earth resident whose modest academic results and poorly paid work had gradually worn down his ambitions. His second life began when his soul entered Xiaoshitou, a young hunter dying from a second-rank Green Bamboo Snake’s bite. The two souls merged without conflict, leaving him with both sets of memories. He returned to Yanhe Village and accepted responsibility for Xiaoshitou’s elderly parents 1 2.

After enlisting, he advanced rapidly enough to enter the Elite Camp and receive the formal name Kelin Shiheng. Recognizing similarities between his new world and Coiling Dragon, he calculated that the Day of Destruction would arrive in thirty-eight years, counting from Yulan Calendar year 9962. Preparing to survive that catastrophe became a central reason for his relentless cultivation 4.

Mountain Range Expedition

Shiheng first awakened Berserk while holding off a fifth-level Thunder Eagle so his squad could escape. He remained standing until his companions had withdrawn safely, then collapsed. The expedition earned him his first ten gold coins and revealed the potential of his unusual power 5 6.

He later helped rescue Hogg Baruch’s force from Wind Wolves and joined a seven-person expedition connected to the struggle over a ninth-level magical beast cub. His companions included Hogg, Hillman, Kelan Kai, the Nalan sisters, and Kelin Xiaoman. During their battles against Man Snakes, Red-Blue Bees, and Wind Wolves, he frequently guarded the mages and intercepted attacks that broke through the front line 7 8 11 14 16.

The expedition’s most damaging encounter was with the Swift Raptor. Shiheng forced his Berserk strength to peak seventh level and pursued the beast through a prolonged battle, ultimately killing it with a punch to the skull. Xiaoman caught him before he fell from a cliff and repeatedly healed him during their recovery. In the cave, he refined Berserk into a teachable cultivation method and passed it to her before later teaching the rest of their companions 18 20 22 23 27 28.

Baron and Personal Guard Centurion

Following the expedition, Shiheng received a baron’s title and a share of fifteen thousand gold coins. He returned to Yanhe Village, where his parents were still living on thin porridge and sparse vegetables. After explaining that his wealth came from military merit rather than desertion, he promised to end their poverty 32.

He held a village feast, donated four hundred jin of fourth-level magical beast meat and five hundred gold coins, and moved his parents to a guarded residence near Hess City’s City Lord’s Mansion. He left them ten thousand gold coins before returning to duty. Legion Commander Kolewell approved of his decision to continue pursuing strength rather than retire into noble comfort and appointed him a personal guard centurion 33 34.

Laiyang and the Magic Crystal Vein

During Laiyang’s defense, Shiheng broke through to late fifth level while fighting a mage, a magical beast, and a warrior, all at peak sixth-level strength. His Berserk counterattack killed the beast and severed the mage’s arm, forcing the surviving enemies to retreat 35 36.

He subsequently discovered an eighth-level magic crystal vein and secretly claimed an ancient Space Ring from a severed God-level expert’s arm. The ring’s resources and Destruction Battle Qi Technique transformed his cultivation prospects. However, a Shadow Alliance assault overwhelmed the camp, and an eighth-level warrior shattered his saber and gravely wounded him while four seventh-level warriors helped pursue him 38 39 40.

Hogg and Hillman found him unconscious beside a river and carried him to safety. After a half-month coma, he awakened in Wu Mountain Town and arranged for intelligence about the vein and attack to reach the Radiant Church and kingdom leadership 41 43.

Seclusion and Reunion with Xiaoman

The Radiant Church rewarded Shiheng with honorary temple warrior status, one million gold coins, Holy Water of Light, and Fine Iron Battle Qi Armor. He used the healing remedy and withdrew from outside affairs to recover and cultivate. Three and a half years of seclusion brought him to peak eighth level, followed by a separate enlightenment that elevated his spiritual power to Saint level 44 45.

Once healed, he left Wu Mountain Town to resume military duty and gain experience. While accompanying a mercenary caravan toward the Principality of Klan, he discovered that its passenger was Xiaoman when the Shadow Church attacked. He destroyed the attackers with spiritual power, killed their fleeing ninth-rank leader with saber energy, and continued home with Xiaoman on a shared Gale Horse 46 48 50.

Defense of Klan and Church Eldership

After returning to Klan, Shiheng gained Grand Duke Kelin’s approval and grew closer to Xiaoman. He accepted frontline command despite officers’ doubts about his experience beyond the centurion rank, silencing their objections with the pressure of his strength. He then confronted an attacking Dark Alliance force outside the defensive walls 55.

His growing power drew a Saint Warrior’s ambush after he drove back four peak ninth-level experts. Gravely wounded in the left shoulder and disrupted in his use of battle qi and Destruction Laws, he activated Berserk and counterattacked with the Heaven-Burning Saint-Breaking Fist. He forced the Saint to draw a black saber and risked taking a wound to strike at the enemy’s heart 59.

The Radiant Church subsequently appointed him an elder. He accepted the Elder’s Scepter at Holy Light Sacred Mountain, but Grand Duke Kelin recalled him from the front so that he could cultivate without distraction. Welcomed by the duke and Xiaoman, he entered the principality’s Seclusion Secret Realm to consolidate his foundation and study the Four Edicts 64.

Engagement and Genuine Saint Ascension

Shiheng’s underlying warrior cultivation advanced to middle ninth level, still below Saint despite his exceptional combat strength. His parents traveled from Hess City for the celebrations surrounding his union with Xiaoman, and he personally went outside the capital to welcome them. A magnificent engagement ceremony formally established their commitment 65 66 67.

His head-on victory over Earth Sword Saint Debangsen established him among the continent’s foremost Saint-class combatants. Together with his earlier slaughter of a three-hundred-thousand-strong Dark Alliance army, the victory earned him the title Slaughter Heaven Saint. The Radiant Church treated him with increasing reverence and promised access to Fate Law texts 70.

After acquiring the Four Godslayer Blades, he spent ten years correcting the gap between his law-based combat strength and his underlying cultivation. Through repeated purification and fusion with the Four Edicts, his battle qi finally reached the genuine Saint realm. He then emerged to travel the Yulan Continent with Xiaoman 71 72 73.

Continental Travels and Kailin’s Guidance

During their travels, Shiheng generally concealed his cultivation and shared ordinary activities with Xiaoman, while occasionally guiding mercenaries through cultivation bottlenecks. In the Kete Kingdom, he intervened in a succession struggle by killing the chancellor and his family, leaving Prince Kete to resolve the remaining political affairs 78 81.

In the O’Brien Empire, he met the ancient Lightning Law Saint Fa Si. They sparred at an agreed level while protecting Xiaoman and containing the destruction within a valley. Fa Si acknowledged Shiheng’s slight advantage and invited him to the imperial capital, but Shiheng chose to continue traveling with Xiaoman 84 85.

After reaching half-step to godhood, he eventually entered Kailin’s Palace of God for ten years of cultivation. He delegated worldly affairs to the Yulan emperor and Grand Duke Kelin, concentrating on his laws. Kailin’s guidance raised his Life Law to ninety-nine percent completion, while Death reached eighty percent; his own insights also helped loosen her ten-thousand-year bottleneck 89 97.

Breaking Divine Will and Attaining Godhood

The Shadow Church’s attempts to eliminate Shiheng culminated in the awakening of the Shadow True God’s lingering will through a forbidden God Descent technique. Still a mortal Saint, Shiheng shattered that divine will and broke its God Domain. He spared the surviving Saint experts, warning that another provocation would lead to the Church’s destruction. Klan named him Protector Saint, while powers across the continent forbade their followers from offending him 113 114.

He withdrew with Xiaoman to a secluded valley and continued refining the Four Edicts. After returning to family life, he stabilized his Saint Apex cultivation and reached the introductory stage of four-law fusion 114 118.

Emperor Star later overwhelmed him in a battle lasting three hundred exchanges. Unable to penetrate the God-level magical beast’s defenses and nearly exhausted, Shiheng fled away from Klan City to protect its inhabitants, enduring a pursuit across thirty thousand li. During the ensuing events, his insight into Fate while saving others allowed him to attain godhood. He chose external godhood, relying on his unusually strong mutated soul to withstand soul division 122 123.

He eventually returned safely to his family, telling them of his Fate breakthrough and the repulsion of his pursuer while deliberately omitting the most dangerous details. As the Klan Empire developed, he used Life Law power to nourish his parents, remove ailments, and prolong their well-being without demanding that they become fighters or exceptional cultivators 127 129.

Fatherhood and the Tomb of the Gods

Shiheng continued studying law fusion with support from Beirut’s guidance and concepts remembered from Earth. His attainment of Life godhood coincided with the arrival of his son, Shi Hao. He and Xiaoman spent three peaceful years raising the child before Saint Aogu announced that the Tomb of the Gods would open the following day 130 134 135.

Before leaving, he gave Lowgod Divine Cores to the Frost Dragon and Grand Duke Kelin to strengthen his family’s defenses. He respected Xiaoman’s decision to attain godhood through her own cultivation rather than refine a core, then prepared to answer Beirut’s summons to the Dark Forest 135.

Within the Tomb, his fused laws and divine powers allowed him to overpower ten Midgods and one hundred Lowgods despite his own Lowgod realm. He later stayed behind to protect his companions against Di Lige, a peak Five-Star Fiend, and killed him. After recovering, he discovered from Di Lige’s journal that the enemy had entered Yulan with a Seven-Star Fiend master who died fighting Beirut 142 143 144 152 167.

Believing Shiheng dead, his companions mourned him and pledged to protect the Klan Empire. He returned unseen in time to hear their promises. Subsequent training brought him to peak Six-Star Fiend combat strength; he shared divine artifacts and resources with the group, sparred with them, and helped refine their weaknesses 152 153 154.

He fought Dragon Venerable in a prolonged contest, winning the ancient dragon’s respect through his strength and honorable conduct. His body later reached Midgod level while his divine cultivation remained Lowgod. Near the trial’s end, Dragon Venerable revealed his true name, Ao Ditian, and formed an Equal Heavenly Dao Contract with him. Throughout the final period, Shiheng grew increasingly anxious about a catastrophe outside and the safety of Xiaoman and Shi Hao 158 159 166 167 168.

Return to Yulan and Departure for Hell

Upon returning from the Tomb, Shiheng reached a battlefield at a moment when Shi Hao and humanity faced a Highgod’s threat. His return interrupted the crisis that had overtaken the Klan Empire during his absence 189.

He later reunited with Hillman and Nalan Jingyu, recalling their youthful adventures and repaying their kindness with cultivation guidance, a Soul Gold Bead, and Lowgod Divine Cores. He helped Hillman comprehend force and take his first step toward Saint 196.

In a border town, he also revisited Xiaoyuan’s family and encountered the former Third Young Master of the Lin Family, now a displaced town lord. Approving of the man’s fair treatment of laborers, Shiheng agreed to protect a wine-for-artifact transaction. Resolving the affair and eliminating five malicious escapees from Gorba Prison helped him release old grudges and transform his Dao Heart 199 200 204.

He devoted fifty years to refining his four blades with humanity’s Power of Faith and developing their killing formation. He subsequently spent ten years perfecting Heavenly Manifestation, an ability Shi Hao had developed from Berserk. During that decade, his Fate divine body stayed with Xiaoman and Shi Hao to make up for his long absences 210 211 212 215 216.

When ready to enter Hell, Shiheng refused his wife and son’s requests to accompany him, promising to return within five hundred years. They agreed that they would seek him themselves if he failed to return by then. He charged Ao Ditian with protecting Yulan and his family against remaining threats from Gorba Prison, receiving a Dragon Race Blood Oath. Lin Feng, Bebe, and Doehring saw him off before his journey to the Far North Icefield’s teleportation array 216 217.

Hell, Human Tribes, and the Demonic Grotto

In Hell, Shiheng continued concealing his strength despite possessing combat power far above his nominal realm. He encountered powerful enemies including Yuanjin Jincang, the Seven-Star Fiend lord of the Demon City of Reception 219 227.

He rescued the Moon Creek Tribe by killing the Five-Star Fiend Dark Wolf bandit chief with one slash and destroying the bandit group. As the seven great human tribes gathered at the Blackstone Tribe after a million years of division, he urged unity rather than a hierarchy of leaders and followers 243.

Punishment imposed by Heaven-Breaking Prefecture, the Asura City Lord, and the God Race placed him in the Demonic Grotto. He turned imprisonment into cultivation, using his mutated divine soul to purify death energy and draw essence safely from the Other Shore Flowers. He quietly aided principled human prisoners and protected the siblings Ryder and Linor while avoiding the prison population’s struggles for power 256 264 265.

After forty years, the Chief Overseer proposed a ten-year pact to enter the forbidden depths and seek Other Shore Flower Fruit. Shiheng accepted and received authority over the lowest level. In the depths, the Other Shore Divine Plant recognized his unusual soul, fused laws, and steadfast intentions. Rather than rush into Death Highgod, he sealed Death at the limit of Midgod so that Life could catch up; the plant then nourished his weaker foundations 271 275.

Further cultivation completed his three-law fusion and brought his normal combat strength to peak Seven-Star Fiend. Working with Oakes Redding, he prepared for escape while using Fate perception to recognize threats along their route. Life eventually advanced to Midgod, balancing all four systems and transforming his body to Highgod level 283 285 295.

Rescue of Kailin and the Life Secret Realm

While traveling with Oakes, Ryder, and Linor, Shiheng detected Kailin’s Life Divine Power within a concealed Asura-level battle. Despite his companions’ warnings, he insisted on going to her aid. He later reaffirmed his gratitude for the dignity and guidance she had given him in Yulan, refusing to let their difference in current strength erase their old friendship 307 309 320.

On the journey to the Life Secret Realm, he released his suppressed Death Law and became a Death Highgod. Although the broken four-law balance initially weakened his personal strength, the Other Shore Flower blade soul awakened and offered Paragon willpower. He subsequently advanced in Destruction and fought with combat power at the Asura limit 322 329 330.

After annihilating the Life Divine Tree’s army, he stored three thousand Divine Beast corpses for future Death Puppets and recovered while his allies gathered the spoils. Eight years of cultivation aided by Life Fruits raised his Life Clone to Highgod and awakened his own willpower 333 338.

His confrontation with the Life Divine Tree’s united bodies revealed that his own perfected will could combine with the Other Shore Flower’s blade will at a level exceeding two ordinary Paragons. Nevertheless, the clash placed immense strain on his body and divine power 342 343.

Fourfold Highgod Ascension and Kailin’s Sacrifice

When Lingmeng Overgod’s palm descended to annihilate the region, Shiheng spent two days and nights beneath the ruined earth comprehending Fate behind his Divine Soul Barrier. His breakthrough completed Highgod ascension in all four systems, restored their balance, and reconstructed his body to standards comparable to a Sovereign Artifact. Three further portions of universal willpower, together with his previous reserves and the might fixed through the divine blades’ sacrifices, brought his total to approximately seven portions 352 353.

He broke the Overgod’s strike but emerged into devastation and grief. Kailin had sacrificed herself, leaving a spirit cocoon preserving her Supreme Elves Bloodline and lingering resolve. Kaiser entrusted it to Shiheng, who promised to protect the cocoon and take responsibility for the Elven Race’s safety 353 354.

Lingmeng Campaign and Migration to the Demon Abyss

With the Overgod’s threat unresolved, Shiheng decided to confront Lingmeng’s family stronghold while gathering displaced human tribes along the way. His larger plan was to consolidate humanity’s scattered remnants and move them to the Demon Abyss, creating a lasting foundation beyond the ruined continent 356 357.

His campaign progressively destroyed his enemies’ foundations rather than ending with isolated acts of revenge. After annihilating the Asura army and concluding the final battle on the Lingmeng Continent, he experienced a release from centuries of grief and restraint. He directed Oakes and the Divine Beast clansmen to return to their people in the Skyrite Mountains, while announcing that humanity’s direct lineages and the Elven lineage would migrate to Hell’s Demon Abyss Plane 370 375.

His Parents’ Deaths and Journey to the Netherworld

Immediately after securing humanity’s future, Shiheng sensed across the planes that his parents had reached the ends of their natural lives in Yulan. Although he had anticipated their eventual deaths, his inability to be present became his greatest regret 376 378.

Freed from the immediate burden of securing his race, he entered the Netherworld alone to seek their remnant souls. His Death Law mastery and a strand of Divine Soul previously implanted as a contingency gave him confidence that he could trace them. He understood that deeper nether regions possessed more stable order but also more dangerous beings, and resolved to reach his parents before they suffered harm 378 379.

Appearance

  • Adult build: Tall and imposing, with a height of 1.88 meters and compact muscles that conceal explosive strength 45.
  • Earlier appearance: Retains the honest, unassuming look of a farmer’s son despite his private ambitions 12.
  • Berserk changes: His muscles tighten and swell, veins become prominent, and his skin can turn crimson or blue-black. Extreme frenzy gives him blood-red eyes 14 18 24 36.
  • Military dress: Wears a carefully maintained uniform, including a personal guard uniform after his promotion 34.
  • Ceremonial dress: Wears an ink-black brocade robe subtly embroidered with Destruction Law patterns for his engagement 67.
  • Later bearing: Retains a youthful appearance after reaching Saint, but acquires greater calm and depth. He frequently wears plain cloth or black robes and conceals his aura sufficiently to appear ordinary 73 85 205 217.
  • Heavenly Manifestation: Assumes a colossal divine form surrounded by intertwined four-system radiance; during the Life Secret Realm battles, his enormous body is described as covered in blood-darkened armor 215 216 330.
  • Netherworld appearance: Enters the Netherworld in white robes, with his overwhelming pressure withdrawn and his manner focused on finding his parents 378 379.

Personality

Shiheng combines an outwardly calm manner with a strong refusal to repeat his previous life’s mediocrity. He treats military service, dangerous expeditions, and cultivation resources as opportunities to change his fate. Noble status does not satisfy him: he chooses continued battlefield training over a comfortable retirement and spends months cutting out unnecessary social activity 2 4 12 31 34.

His ambition is closely tied to responsibility. He protects wounded comrades, shares his secret method without withholding its principles, and materially supports both his parents and the village that cared for them. Even after becoming a baron, he greets the villagers without aristocratic arrogance 6 23 27 33.

His caution has limits when others are threatened. He conceals the Space Ring while vulnerable and initially plans to escape the doomed camp with vital intelligence, but seeing his fellow guards slaughtered drives him back into battle. During his most extreme Berserk episode, rage and revenge erase his tactical judgment entirely 18 38 39 43.

As his standing grows, he remains largely indifferent to offices and empty prestige. Accepting Church eldership does not change his central aim: gaining enough strength to protect those around him and control his own destiny. He also delegates administration readily when it interferes with cultivation 64 97.

His later caution includes restraint toward opportunities beyond his ability and respect for other cultivators’ secrets. He refuses to risk his foundation for a premature Highgod breakthrough and does not pry into a companion’s hidden bloodline or trump cards. Dragon Venerable particularly values his honorable conduct during their prolonged battle 159 165 273 275.

His compassion increasingly extends from family and comrades to humanity as a whole. He helps vulnerable human prisoners without seeking recognition, urges divided tribes to unite, and eventually assumes responsibility for securing a permanent homeland for both humans and the Elven lineage. This concern coexists with decisive violence toward predatory gods and enemies who threaten the people under his protection 189 243 264 354 375.

Cultivation and campaigns repeatedly separate him from his family, a neglect he openly attempts to correct by keeping his Fate divine body at home for ten years. Despite later descriptions of his release from worldly attachments, his love for Xiaoman, Shi Hao, and his parents remains genuine. His parents’ deaths expose his deepest remaining weakness: extraordinary power cannot erase his regret at failing to accompany them through their final years 204 205 215 376 378 379.

Abilities & Skills

Berserk Secret Method

Shiheng develops a controlled cultivation method from the emergency power first awakened by his mutated soul 5 23.

  • Mechanism: Uses extreme emotion to stimulate the central nervous system and adrenaline production, increasing control over the body and releasing strength beyond ordinary limits 23.
  • Physical enhancement: Raises strength, speed, agility, toughness, and explosive power; his earliest awakening also suppresses fear and pain 5.
  • Teachability: Does not require the special bloodline his companions initially assume he possesses. He teaches Xiaoman and later the entire expedition group 23 27 28.
  • Scaling: The relative improvement is especially pronounced for low-level warriors and diminishes as the practitioner’s level rises 24.
  • Risks: Uncontrolled overuse damages his meridians and can destroy his reason. While he presents the refined method as harmless, forcing power far above his base cultivation still places severe strain on his body 18 23 27 40.
  • God-level application: During his Tomb of the Gods training, Berserk doubles his combat strength, Edict power, and divine-artifact power, enabling peak Six-Star Fiend combat strength 154.
  • Legacy: Forms the basis from which Shi Hao develops Heavenly Manifestation, a distinct and substantially more advanced divine ability 216.

Destruction Battle Qi

The Destruction Battle Qi Technique uses rage and killing intent to cultivate aggressive, destructive battle qi. Its principles complement Berserk rather than conflicting with it 39.

  • Accelerates his cultivation by drawing on his tempered physique, ambient spiritual energy, and the ring’s resources 39.
  • Reinforces Berserk, raising his peak fifth-level cultivation to peak seventh-level combat strength during the camp assault 39.
  • Repeated circulation tempers his body and reshapes his foundation during seclusion, leading him toward the Destruction Laws 45.
  • Ultimately becomes part of a broader foundation in which his battle qi is purified and fused with all Four Edicts, allowing a genuine Saint breakthrough rather than continued reliance on temporary enhancement 72.

Destruction Laws

Years of contemplating destruction give Shiheng an initial understanding of laws beyond ordinary battle qi 45.

  • Allows him to fight above his underlying warrior rank 45.
  • Dissolves a ninth-rank warrior’s battle qi when he catches the attacker’s fist without activating Berserk 48.
  • Combined with controlled Berserk, is later described as granting combat strength approaching peak Saint level 49.
  • Provides the physical annihilation component of his fused attacks, complementing Fate-guided soul attacks 118.
  • Becomes one of his divine systems and part of his perfected three-law fusion with Fate and Death 142 285.
  • Advances to Highgod before his final Fate breakthrough restores all four systems to balance 329 352.

Saint-Level Spiritual Power

An enlightenment prompted by observing human relationships and everyday happiness gives him Saint-level spiritual power through an encounter with the Fate Laws 45.

  • Spiritual attacks: Kills a seventh-level warrior, then destroys forty-seven Shadow Church experts and their Wind Wolves with spiritual power 48.
  • Soul-piercing potential: Recognizes that compressing his power into a fine spiritual needle could kill an ordinary Saint by piercing the soul; no such Saint kill is shown in these chapters 45.
  • Initial limitations: Possesses no magical power at the time of his enlightenment and has not learned to wield the Fate Laws or condense Saint power. These are early limitations rather than restrictions on his later divine cultivation 45 123.
  • Later development: His mutated divine soul eventually reaches Highgod-level resilience while his four divine systems are still Midgod, greatly improving perception, soul attacks, and mental resistance 309.

Four-Element Mutated Soul and Divine Bodies

His soul mutation develops into the central foundation of his cultivation in Fate, Destruction, Life, and Death. The Other Shore Divine Plant identifies his fused soul origins and regards his potential as capable of surpassing its own 123 275.

  • Soul division: His unusually strong soul origin enables him to endure external godhood and form a divine body separate from his original body 123.
  • Divine-power fusion: Fuses the powers of multiple systems, producing combat strength far above the level implied by his individual Divine Cores 142 154.
  • Law fusion: First develops four-law fusion at Saint level, later perfects Fate–Destruction fusion, and eventually completes three-law fusion of Fate, Destruction, and Death 118 142 285.
  • Parallel cultivation: His four divine bodies can cultivate separately while sharing one origin; his original body concentrates on physical refinement and divine abilities 215.
  • Purification: Filters dangerous death energy and Other Shore Flower essence rather than absorbing the flowers directly, allowing cultivation in terrain dangerous to other prisoners 256.
  • Balance: Treats equal development of the four systems as a foundation worth preserving even at the cost of delaying a breakthrough. Advancing Death alone initially disrupts this balance and lowers his personal combat strength 275 322.
  • Completed Highgod cycle: Once all four systems reach Highgod, balanced fusion restores his wounded body and raises its quality to that of a Sovereign Artifact 352 353.

Fate Laws

  • Soul-directed attacks: Guides the soul-attack component of his fused Saint-level killing technique 118.
  • External godhood: Fate is the first law explicitly shown carrying him across the Saint-to-God boundary 123.
  • Battlefield prediction: Discerns opponents’ movements, attack timing, and evasion routes; can subtly twist the course of an incoming combined attack so that it misses 142 143.
  • Danger perception: Develops the ability to glimpse future trajectories and identify lethal threats when preparing to escape the Death Demon Cavern 285.
  • Final four-system breakthrough: Fate is the last of his four systems to reach Highgod, completing their balanced ascension 352.

Life Laws

  • Healing and nourishment: Channels gentle Life Law power through his parents’ bodies and soul essences, clearing hidden ailments and easing the effects of age 129.
  • Cultivation synergy: Life and Death nourish and restrain one another, allowing progress in one to support the other 97.
  • Divine advancement: Attains Life godhood before entering the Tomb of the Gods, later reaches Midgod during his travels in Hell, and advances his Life Clone to Highgod with the aid of Life Fruits 134 295 338.
  • Limits of protection: His efforts do not prevent his parents from eventually reaching the ends of their natural lives 376.

Death Laws

  • Death-energy refinement: Uses purified death energy and Other Shore Flower essence to strengthen his law comprehension and recover from injuries 256.
  • Controlled advancement: Seals Death at the limit of Midgod to avoid an imbalanced Highgod breakthrough, then deliberately releases it when preparing for the Life Secret Realm 275 322.
  • Death Puppets: Stores three thousand intact Divine Beast corpses with the intention of refining them into Death Puppets; the storage event does not itself establish that all have been converted 333.
  • Soul tracing: Possesses exceptional perception of soul trajectories and patterns of life and death, supporting his search for his parents in the Netherworld 379.

Heavenly Manifestation

Heavenly Manifestation is created by Shi Hao from the foundation of Shiheng’s Berserk Secret Art. Its basis in the Human Emperor’s Dao Fruit and the momentum and governing principles of heaven and earth distinguishes it from ordinary physical overexertion 216.

  • Enhancement: Multiplies base combat strength tenfold without requiring a realm advancement or consuming his essence 216.
  • Safety: Is explicitly described as lacking Berserk’s backlash, flaws, and lasting side effects 216.
  • Physical transformation: Enlarges his body into a colossal manifestation and initially raises his Midgod physical foundation to Highgod-equivalent strength 215.
  • Early demonstrated strength: Gives him early Seven-Star Fiend raw strength before his departure for Hell 216.
  • Rarity: At that point, only Shiheng and Shi Hao have mastered it; observing its outward patterns is insufficient for others to reproduce it 216.
  • Later use: Remains part of his full combat eruption in the Life Secret Realm, where it accompanies Asura-limit strength 330.

Willpower Might and Divine-Soul Defense

  • Other Shore Flower will: The awakened blade soul grants access to Paragon willpower after his Death Highgod breakthrough, providing overwhelming offense and defense against those below Paragon 322.
  • Personal perfected will: His true heart later awakens willpower of its own. Combined with the Other Shore Flower’s blade will, it can oppose attacks exceeding the combined might of two orthodox Paragons 338 342 343.
  • Divine Soul Barrier: Protects him beneath the ruined battlefield while he comprehends Fate under the threat of Lingmeng Overgod’s descending strike 352.
  • Accumulated reserves: His fourfold Highgod completion earns three full portions of universal willpower. Together with his own reserves and power permanently fixed through the divine blades’ sacrifices, his total reaches approximately seven complete portions 352 353.
  • Demonstrated result: Breaks Lingmeng Overgod’s strike without being identified as an Overgod himself 353 354.

Martial and Practical Skills

  • Taijiquan: Uses remembered Earth training principles to improve his physique when the basic Qi Accumulation Form proves ineffective 2.
  • Sword and saber combat: Strikes exposed eyes and vital points, channels battle qi through blades, and later projects lethal saber energy 11 26 48.
  • Unarmed combat: Trades blows with the Swift Raptor and kills it with a final punch 20.
  • Fieldcraft: Draws on a childhood of hunting, extracts magical beast cores, prepares meat, and takes night watches for exhausted companions 12 27 33 50.
  • Heaven-Burning Saint-Breaking Fist: Uses this destructive fist technique to block a Saint Warrior’s massive palm strike and launch a sustained counterattack 59.
  • Teaching: Offers concise guidance that resolves cultivation bottlenecks for comrades and lower-level warriors; later teaches Hillman to comprehend force and guides divine companions through sparring 68 78 154 196.
  • Body refinement: Uses four-system divine-power tempering and the Human Race Supreme Body Refining Art to strengthen his body beyond his nominal divine realm 166 295 309.
  • Faith-based forging: Develops a method of refining his life-bound blades with his five-percent share of humanity’s primal Power of Faith rather than relying solely on conventional divine-power tempering 210 211.
  • Four Extremes Absolute-Kill Formation: Coordinates his four transformed blades into a restrictive killing domain that confines opponents, strips divine power, and wears down the soul. Its early potential to kill a trapped Seven-Star Fiend is explicitly left for actual combat to establish 212.
