Chapter Summaries

Lin Yuan woke after Gu Yi saved him and realized Gu Yi had left again, while the disciples prepared to rescue Jiang Lingzhou and Xie Wenyun from a cliff. Lin Yuan returned to camp and reunited with everyone, leaving Gu Yi flustered as Lin Yuan began to explain who had saved him.

• Lin Yuan woke in a beast lair, remembered that Gu Yi had saved him and removed his inner demon, and resolved to find him among the secret-realm disciples.
• Lin Ning returned to camp and reported that Jiang Lingzhou and Xie Wenyun had fallen from a vine-covered cliff.
• Gu Yi, Mu Yang, and the others decided that Gu Yi and Mu Yang would go search for the missing disciples while Lin Ning stayed to care for Xiao Cheng.
• Lin Yuan arrived at camp, and Lin Ning embraced him in relief before he assured her he was unharmed.
• Lin Yuan said that someone had saved him, and Gu Yi hurriedly interrupted by announcing that he and Mu Yang would leave to rescue Jiang Lingzhou and Xie Wenyun.

Xie Wenyun rescued the unconscious Jiang Lingzhou from the cliff and carried him to safety before falling asleep. Meanwhile, Lin Yuan set out to find Gu Yi, who was searching with Mu Yang when Chu Jing and his men attacked them.

Gu Yi escaped Mu Yang’s fight with Chu Jing and encountered Zhao Chen while searching for Xie Wenyun and Jiang Lingzhou. Zhao Chen tried to assault him, but Lin Yuan intervened, and Gu Yi killed Zhao Chen at Lin Yuan’s urging.

• Gu Yi left Mu Yang to fight Chu Jing and headed toward Vine Cliff to search for Xie Wenyun and Jiang Lingzhou.
• Gu Yi met Zhao Chen in the mist and grew suspicious when Zhao Chen claimed he was looking for his junior sister.
• Zhao Chen deceived Gu Yi with a claim that two figures were nearby, then grabbed and tried to assault him.

Gu Yi and Lin Yuan reached the cliff where Xie Wenyun and Jiang Lingzhou had fallen, and followed their tracks in search of them. Lin Yuan deduced that Xie Wenyun was carrying the injured Jiang Lingzhou, then remarked that Gu Yi’s feet seemed large for a woman.

• Gu Yi thanked Lin Yuan for killing Zhao Chen, then set off to find Xie Wenyun and Jiang Lingzhou.

After recovering from the vine poison, Lin Yuan believed Gu Yi’s claim that he had hallucinated and tried to take liberties with him. When Gu Yi’s Golden Core tribulation struck, Lin Yuan rushed to his side and helped him withstand the final bolt.

• Gu Yi told Lin Yuan that poisoned hallucinations had made him mistake Gu Yi for someone else and try to molest him.

He broke Jiang Lingzhou, Xie Wenyun, and Lin Yuan out of their delusions, but Lin Yuan was upset that Gu Yi had interrupted him just before he caught his imagined Gu Yi.

• Jiang Lingzhou woke in an illusion where he believed he had returned to the Taichu Sect, while Lin Yuan chased an illusory Gu Yi and Xie Wenyun remained unaware of the mist's effects.
• Gu Yi opened his eyes and found Jiang Lingzhou acting out an imaginary wedding with him, so he kicked Jiang Lingzhou and fed him Love Vine stamens to end the illusion.
• Gu Yi discovered Xie Wenyun was reading an imaginary book about extending his junior sister's life and became embarrassed when Jiang Lingzhou accused Xie Wenyun of wanting to practice dual cultivation with him.
