"Ah!"

When their pursuer caught up, all three of them were halfway up the ladder, caught between top and bottom.

Since the entire platform and ladder were metal, their pursuer merely drove the twin batons in his hands into the ground, and a powerful current instantly swept over the whole platform. The three of them cried out in pain as the electricity struck them, then fell from the ladder.

Their pursuer leaped down right after them and attacked. The three hurriedly rolled out of the way, then rose to their feet and surrounded him.

"The Avatar?"

His gaze immediately locked onto Korra among the three. Staring intently at her, he said in a low voice:

"Today is the day you meet your end."

"I won't let you get your way."

Korra warily took her stance, but Bolin, beside her, actually began taunting him:

"It's the day you meet your end, Mustache. It's three against one now."

Only then did Korra and Mako react, hurriedly attacking together.

But Mustache was extraordinarily agile. Korra and Mako took turns unleashing their bending, yet not a single attack landed.

Instead, Mustache could swiftly close in even as he dodged. Even a light blow from his batons would paralyze them with the powerful current coursing over the weapons, leaving almost no room for error.

A moment's inattention gave Mustache an opening against Mako. He drove both batons into Mako's body and unleashed their full current, sending him to the ground in convulsions, powerless to fight back.

"Mako!"

Korra grew anxious at the sight, alternating between firebending and earthbending
