Lu Heng ignored him, only frowning slightly.
Lu Kuo searched at one end, so Lu Heng started at the other.
There was no helping it. There were too many medicines in the dispensary, and they were piled up haphazardly, making the search especially difficult.
Lu Kuo kept teasing him. "Now that you've had your first taste, finding it hard to stop?"
Lu Heng was used to being teased by his less-than-serious older brother. His expression never changed. His usual approach was simply not to respond: you say your piece, and I'll do my thing.
"Take it easy. Don't scare your wife."
"There was quite a racket coming from your room earlier. Anyone who didn't know better would've thought you were slaughtering pigs and sheep."
"I have some porn. I'll copy it for you later so you can pick up a few techniques. That's how you make a woman feel good."
Lu Heng said, "Are you done talking nonsense?"
Lu Kuo said, "It's not nonsense. Medically speaking, effective sex positions also make it easier for women to reach orgasm, and women are more likely to conceive when they do. You know Grandma's always been hoping for a grandchild..."
"Shut up," Lu Heng said.
He didn't want to hear another word.
The thought of that woman filled him with an irritation he couldn't suppress. He wanted to teach her a harsh lesson.
How could Lu Kuo fail to notice the change in Lu Heng's attitude toward Xia Zhi?
Although he didn't know how the two of them had broken the ice after five years at an impasse, it was good that they had.
"Aheng, if you ask me, you should've come around sooner. Your wife might have a bad temper, but she isn't scheming. She's pretty and has a smoking-hot figure. There's nothing to complain about."
Lu Heng sneered. "You like her?"
Lu Kuo sighed theatrically. "What good would that do? She's not interested in me."
Lu Heng turned to look at Lu Kuo.
His older brother was never serious, and no one could tell whether he meant what he said.
Lu Kuo knew his younger brother harbored resentment. After all, no one liked being forced into anything, and the Xia and Lu families really had gone too far back then.
Unfortunately, he had spent all his time at the hospital then and known very little about what was happening at home. He really had neglected his younger brother.
The Lu Family owed Lu Heng too much.
Now that Lu Heng was enjoying himself, Lu Kuo was naturally happy.
"Found it."
Lu Kuo handed Lu Heng a tube of ointment. "The best medicine for external injuries. Scratches, scrapes, or... ahem, tears, it works wonders on all of them. Won't leave a scar."
Ignoring Lu Kuo's suggestive gaze, Lu Heng snatched the ointment from him.
"Disinfect your brain when you have the time."
"Why?"
"It's filthy."
Lu Kuo looked innocent. "I'm just describing what the medicine can be used for."
Lu Heng left without looking back.
Back in the room, Xia Zhi had shifted into another sprawling sleeping position. Lu Heng stood beside the bed and stared at her for a full minute before managing to resist kicking her out of it.
He fetched a hair dryer, dragged her to the edge of the bed, and dried her hair.
Her hair was so long and wet that all her tossing and turning had soaked the sheets.
Perhaps the hair dryer was too noisy. Xia Zhi frowned and opened her eyes, glanced at Lu Heng, then closed them and went back to sleep.
Lu Heng was speechless.
Did this woman have no sense of danger?
He suddenly remembered how Xia Zhi had supposedly found "solid proof" that he was gay, and the anger in his chest became even harder to suppress.
After drying her hair, Lu Heng pushed Xia Zhi aside and dried the spot where she had been sleeping.
Only then did he pull her back into place, tug off her dress, and apply the ointment.
Her long, seaweed-like hair spread over the scarlet sheets. Xia Zhi's skin was so pale it almost reflected the light. The red marks covering her body did not make her look disheveled; instead, they lent her a certain battered beauty.
Aside from her slightly plump feet, every other part of this woman was just right.
Just as she had said herself, she didn't lack an ounce of flesh where it counted.
After applying the ointment from head to toe, Lu Heng had no patience left to dress her, so he pulled a blanket over her.
He turned off the light.
Xia Zhi slept soundly.
Lu Heng, however, tossed and turned. It was his first time sharing a bed, and he felt indescribably awkward.
Even though the woman was already sleeping like the dead.
Before long, Xia Zhi began turning over again. She rolled out from under the blanket and draped an arm over Lu Heng's neck.
Lu Heng pulled it away irritably.
But before long, the woman wound herself around him again, this time with both her arms and legs.
Lu Heng was speechless.
He suspected she was doing it on purpose.
He flung her off again.
Although he had pushed her away, the smooth, silky feel of her lingered on his fingertips. Lu Heng realized that he actually didn't hate this kind of contact. In fact...
He wanted to touch her more.
Suddenly, Lu Heng remembered what Xia Zhi had said in her mind earlier-
He'd never had his fill with her anyway.
Lu Heng's temple throbbed.
His mouth went a little dry.
That night, Xia Zhi slept sweetly, while an unquenchable fire roasted Lu Heng inside and out.
The next morning, when Xia Zhi discovered she was completely naked, she instinctively clutched the blanket and screamed.
"Ah!"
"Lu! Y-you... what did you do to me?"
Hearing her outburst from the bathroom, Lu Heng walked out with a bath towel wrapped around his waist, drying his hair as he went.
His lean, muscular upper body was sharply defined. As he dried his hair, the flex and release of his muscles radiated strength.
Water dripped from the ends of his hair and ran down his neck. Some droplets gathered on his firm chest, while others followed the sexy grooves of his lower abdomen beneath the towel.
Xia Zhi stared, transfixed.
Wow.
The villain actually had the body of a male fashion model.
Although she had already seen it with her X-ray vision, it had been nighttime and the lighting had been poor. Besides, she had been too embarrassed to really look. The impact hadn't come close to this.
Xia Zhi suddenly felt warmth in her nose.
Before she could react, two humiliating streams of blood ran from her nostrils without warning.
Xia Zhi quickly tilted her head back to force the blood back in.
Humiliating.
So fucking humiliating.
With her body reacting like some lovestruck idiot, how could she righteously demand to know whether the villain had molested her last night?
It looked more like she had molested him...
Boo-hoo.
Even a hundred mouths couldn't explain this away.
Just then, two tissues appeared in front of her. "Wipe it. Don't tilt your head back. It'll run down your throat."
Xia Zhi took the tissues, unable to look Lu Heng in the eye. Lowering her head, she murmured,
"...Thank you."
She really wanted to find a hole to crawl into.
Then an entire packet of tissues landed beside her. "Throw the used tissues in the trash."
"And I only took your clothes off last night to apply ointment. I didn't molest you."
His voice was cold and calm.
A tube of ointment flew over to land beside Xia Zhi's hand. "I got it from my brother. He said it works well and that you should keep using it, once in the morning and once at night."
Xia Zhi was utterly ashamed. What had she been thinking?
He wasn't interested in women at all. Why would he molest her?
Humiliating.
So fucking humiliating.
"...Thank you."
Xia Zhi lowered her head even further.
Lu Heng's gaze fell on the crown of her dark head. From this angle, he could see her bare shoulders, delicate collarbones, and fair back, its contours clearly defined.
"Apply it yourself."
His voice had dropped a few degrees.
Before you continue
