  • At the Zhou Mountain Royal Court, Jiang Yang praised Black Wind for killing an Immortal Clan inspecting envoy and asked what reward he wanted.
  • Black Wind claimed Jiang Yang’s recognition was reward enough, and Jiang Yang told him to stay at the Royal Court until the coronation.

Ch. 573Little Phoenix

Jiang Yang considered how to address the border demons’ reluctance to suffer losses in frontier conflicts without driving them toward the Immortal Clan. Little Phoenix proposed forming border demon legions, earned a divine spear as a reward, and was then assigned to plan the policy’s implementation.

  • Jiang Yang reflected on the border demons’ careful defense of their clans and why he could not force them to fight harder.
  • Little Phoenix proposed that the border clans leave their ancestral lands and form legions to defend the frontier, easing resentment between border demons and those in the Eastern Wasteland’s interior.

In the Zhou Kingdom’s reign of King Mu, the king traveled west to meet the Queen Mother of the West, just as Filiya emerged from seclusion on West Kunlun.

  • The Dao Ancestor awakened in his temple, declared that the time had come for the Immortal Clan to leave something for the Mortal Realm, and sent immortal lights to establish abodes throughout the Immortal Realm.

Filiya then ascended to the Divine Realm with many divine beasts and demigods, only to learn Jiang Yang had traveled to an ancient era and would be away for a while.

  • Azure Luan led King Mu of Zhou and his officials up Kunlun Mountain to meet Filiya.
  • King Mu asked Filiya for eternal life, but she said his poor cultivation aptitude and the world's insufficient supernatural energy made it impossible, so she gave him treasures instead.
  • After returning to his capital, King Mu had his westward journey recorded and kept the claim that the Heavenly Emperor belonged to the Jiang clan within the royal family.
  • Filiya visited the Luo River and told a subordinate god to have Luo Bin take on the duties of God King if she chose to remain on Earth after leaving seclusion.

Kong Xuan arrived at the border tribes as the Royal Court’s envoy and persuaded Hu Dali and the other chiefs to surrender their ancestral lands for the planned Border Demon Race Army. Hu Dali accepted in hopes of moving closer to the king and improving his chances of becoming a Demon King, while Kong Xuan endured the chief’s attempt to entertain him with his daughter.

  • After three costly battles against the forces across the great river, Hu Dali regretted his campaign and resented Black Wind’s promised title as a Demon King.

  • Kong Xuan announced that the king would gather demons from across the Eastern Wasteland into a Border Demon Race Army to defend the frontier.
