Ch. 81Otus

Otus, a Naga prince who rejected his people’s ancestral rules, sought to lead them onto land and conquered Seaside City through treachery. The next day, he commanded a massive Naga assault on the Midsummer Dynasty’s defenses and confronted the Ninth Princess at her banner.

  • Otus vowed to lead the Naga out of the sea after secretly seeing the beauty of the land as a child.
  • Otus exploited the greed of land dwellers, gained weapons and items, and captured Seaside City after its people opened the gates.
  • Otus killed the people who had helped him and declared that he would claim land beneath the sun.
  • On the second day after Jiang Yang arrived, Otus led a much larger Naga army, including nearly ten Saint Domain experts, in an assault on the Midsummer Dynasty’s first defensive line.
  • The Naga routed the defenders and killed a Dwarf Saint Domain expert before Otus reached the Ninth Princess’s banner and asked why she did not flee.

Ch. 82Kunlun still stood

As Otus’s Naga forces surrounded the Ninth Princess and her allies, Naga Queen Younai defied her brother to protect them. Just as the attackers moved in, a woman appeared in divine light and declared that the Kunlun Divine Court still stood.

  • Otus ordered his forces to capture the Ninth Princess alive and restrain Younai after she sided with the princess.
  • Younai raised her spear against Otus, accepting that she might have to die to stop him.
  • Jiang Yang signaled Filiya and Yuna that they could act as the Naga closed in.
  • A radiant woman appeared before the Ninth Princess and threatened to punish the invaders for running rampant in Midsummer’s borders.

Ch. 83Dark Bird, Blue Kun

Filiya defeated Otus, the Blue Kun, ending the battle between the naga and the princess’s party. Younai asked Filiya to forgive the naga for their ancestors’ sins, and Jiang Yang recognized them as descendants of a Golden Tribe from an ancient expedition.

  • Filiya transformed into a Dark Bird and fought Otus, who had changed into a Blue Kun, while Yuna, Younai, the Saint Domain knight, and Li Mingyue’s knights held off the naga army.
  • Jiang Yang asked Li Mingyue whether starting wars for one’s people was right or wrong, and she answered that it was wrong.
  • Filiya shattered Otus’s water barrier and knocked him to the ground, causing the naga to lower their weapons.
  • Younai prostrated herself before Filiya and explained that the naga had once been a Golden Tribe punished by the gods for worshipping an evil god.
  • Younai asked Filiya to pardon the naga’s ancestors and punish the naga who defied their teachings, and Jiang Yang recognized the clan’s origins before stepping beside Filiya.

Ch. 84The origin of mermaids

Jiang Yang pardoned Younai and her followers, transformed them into the Merfolk Clan, and allowed them to live in Eastern Cang Land. He then turned to the defeated naga and their leader, Otus, leaving their fate unresolved.

  • Jiang Yang appeared as the God King Haotian Shangdi, and the gathered creatures bowed before him.
  • Jiang Yang pardoned Younai and her followers for their ancestors’ sins, then asked them to leave the Naga Clan and accept new lives.
  • Younai and her followers agreed, and Jiang Yang used his Divine Ring and blood to transform them.
  • Jiang Yang named the transformed group the Merfolk Clan and permitted them to live in Eastern Cang Land and venture onto land peacefully.
  • Jiang Yang turned to the defeated naga, especially Otus, and asked what should become of them.

Ch. 85Forever guarding the seas

Jiang Yang spared Otus and the Naga clans, but sentenced them to serve Seaside City and transformed Otus into a guardian Kun Fish. Li Mingyue chose to spare Otus’s life, while Jiang Yang secured his promise to answer a future call against calamity.

  • Otus took responsibility for the Nagas’ actions and cut off three of his arms, pleading with Jiang Yang to spare his clanspeople.
  • Jiang Yang gave Li Mingyue his Platinum Longsword and ordered her to deliver Otus’s final stroke.
  • Li Mingyue severed Otus’s last arm but spared his life, asking him never to harm her people again.
  • Jiang Yang sentenced the Nagas to serve Seaside City until it was restored and commanded Otus to guard the sea as a giant Kun Fish for eternity.
  • Otus agreed to serve Jiang Yang in a future calamity, and Jiang Yang declared that he feared no rival.

Ch. 86Ocean Guardian

Several months later, Jiang Yang and Filiya witnessed a passenger ship nearly destroyed by a powerful storm, until Otus, the Kun, calmed the sea and earned the name Ocean Guardian. Seeing Otus begin to inspire faith, Jiang Yang considered its future role against the Devil and wondered what Zeus and Artemis were doing in the West.

  • Jiang Yang and Filiya remained on deck despite the captain's warning that a powerful storm was approaching.
  • A young adventurer told the passengers and captain the story of Haotian Shangdi releasing the Kun to protect ships in the Storm Sea.
  • The storm struck, nearly capsizing the ship and exhausting its magical protection as the passengers despaired.
  • Otus called across the sea, soothing the people and calming the wind and waves before briefly surfacing as the Kun.
  • Jiang Yang watched Otus disappear beneath the waves and said this was its first step toward faith and becoming a force against the Devil.
  • Jiang Yang turned his thoughts to the West and wondered what Zeus and Artemis were doing.

Ch. 87Son of Zeus

Zeus’s son Heracles began the Twelve Labors to prove his loyalty and earn a place among the Olympian gods. Jiang Yang and Filiya returned to Olympus’s territory and spotted Heracles traveling with Jason, who was seeking the Golden Fleece.

  • Zeus’s affair and his gifted demigod son, Heracles, were revealed, angering Hera and stirring gossip on Olympus.
  • Zeus argued that Heracles should join the Divine Clan, but the gods worried he might become like Gilgamesh.
  • Zeus agreed that Heracles would complete twelve tasks to prove his loyalty, and the gods approved the plan.
  • Heracles set out to undertake the Twelve Labors, while Athena and Artemis secretly observed him.
  • Jiang Yang and Filiya reached Olympus’s territory by merchant ship and saw Jason and Heracles aboard a ship of warriors.
  • Filiya told Jiang Yang that Heracles was Zeus’s son by a mortal woman of the Silver Folk.

Ch. 88Your Uncle Is Here

Jiang Yang and Filiya visited the Argo, where Heracles had defeated Jason in a friendly contest before preparing to leave the voyage. Jiang Yang arrived and announced himself to Heracles as his uncle.

  • Jiang Yang admired the young heroes aboard the Argo, while Filiya asked to visit their ship because she wanted to hear gossip about Zeus.
  • Jiang Yang agreed to pay the merchant ship's captain double to take them to the Argo.
  • Heracles defeated Jason in a contest, and Jason accepted the result so Heracles could leave to begin his ninth Divine Labor.
  • Jiang Yang and Filiya boarded the Argo, and Jiang Yang asked for Heracles and declared, "Your uncle is here."

Ch. 89You Actually Want to Be My Dad

Jiang Yang fought Heracles after claiming to be his uncle, defeating him in a duel and earning his respect. Heracles recognized Jiang Yang as the man who wanted to marry Artemis and called him “Brother,” while Jiang Yang realized Zeus had described him as a prospective son-in-law.

  • Jiang Yang told Heracles that he was his uncle, but Heracles and the other heroes doubted him and mocked his claim to be the God of the Sword.
  • Jiang Yang released a powerful aura, and Heracles challenged him to a fight, promising to acknowledge him as his uncle if he lost.
  • Jiang Yang fought Heracles with a spear, outmatched his techniques, and knocked him down after breaking the spear.
  • Heracles accepted his defeat, asked Jiang Yang's name, and recognized him as the man Zeus had mentioned who wanted to marry Artemis.
  • Heracles called Jiang Yang “Brother,” and Jiang Yang realized Zeus had made him sound like a son-in-law rather than a brother.

Ch. 90The king dwelt upon the earth, unrivaled beneath the starry sky

Jiang Yang defeated Heracles repeatedly and agreed to teach Jason and the other heroes while they stayed ashore. Filiya hinted to Heracles that Jiang Yang was a God King from the distant east, leaving him amazed by his uncle’s stature.

  • Jiang Yang stopped Heracles from calling him big brother or brother-in-law and insisted that Heracles call him uncle.
  • Jiang Yang defeated Heracles fifty-nine times in an hour, earning the mortal heroes’ awe.
  • Jiang Yang refused Jason’s request to become his disciple but agreed to teach the heroes some moves during their two-day stay ashore.
  • Heracles asked Filiya about Jiang Yang’s ties to Zeus and the Olympian gods, and she said Jiang Yang was a king in the distant east.
  • Filiya praised Jiang Yang as unrivaled beneath the starry sky, and Heracles wondered whether he was stronger than Zeus.

Ch. 91Athena

Jiang Yang’s lessons strengthened Jason and Heracles, and the heroes preserved his techniques for future generations. As Athena arrived to help Heracles with his next labor, she was shocked to find Jiang Yang drinking with the heroes.

  • Jason’s band spent two days learning combat techniques from Jiang Yang, and later heroes carved the skills onto a stone tablet that inspired the Supreme Sword Canon.
  • Jason and Heracles left with their companions after the revelry, while Jiang Yang refused to join either of them.
  • Athena came to help Heracles with his next divine labor, having secretly supported him and opposed Hera’s efforts to sabotage him.
  • Athena found Jiang Yang drinking with the mortal heroes and exclaimed in astonishment, “Jiang Yang?! What are you doing here?”

Ch. 92Three Thousand Meters Below, Ruins of the Fourth Epoch

Jiang Yang spent the night talking with Athena about her path to the next Emperor-Rank step before setting out to continue wandering with Filiya. Their departure was interrupted by Li Xiaowa’s report of possible Fourth Epoch ruins three thousand meters below.

  • Jiang Yang and Athena talked beneath the stars about alien civilizations and her desire to become a warrior like him.
  • Jiang Yang explained will and laws to Athena until dawn, helping her prepare to break through to the Emperor-Rank Third Step.
  • Heracles mistook Athena for Artemis, called Jiang Yang his brother-in-law, and was punched away by Athena.
  • Athena left after giving Heracles instructions, while Jiang Yang and Filiya watched the others sail away and prepared to continue their journey.
  • Li Xiaowa contacted Jiang Yang and told him to return from Olympus because they had discovered possible Fourth Epoch ruins three thousand meters below.

Ch. 93Quite the Opposite

Jiang Yang abandoned his trip to Olympus and returned to Li Xiaowa’s laboratory after she uncovered ruins from the Fourth Epoch. There, she revealed that the ruins contained traces of devils, but said the evidence showed the Fourth Epoch’s destruction had been caused by quite the opposite of devils.

  • In the distant future, figures across space-time vowed to restore the proper course, while a woman in the Heroic Spirit Throne declared that it would do so at any cost.
  • Jiang Yang and Filiya turned back from their journey to Olympus after Li Xiaowa’s discovery, and Jiang Yang sent messages to Artemis and Zeus explaining his return to Kunlun.
  • Hours later, Jiang Yang and Filiya met Li Xiaowa and the researchers at the Great Snowfield Shelter laboratory.
  • Li Xiaowa showed Jiang Yang images of a devastated Fourth Epoch city and explained that the team had found traces of devils and dared not explore farther.
  • Jiang Yang asked whether devils had destroyed the Fourth Epoch, but Li Xiaowa said their findings showed the opposite.

Ch. 94The Devils' epic

Jiang Yang and the others explored an underground city and deciphered murals revealing the Devil Civilization’s origins, its division into two warring groups, and their departure from Earth. The murals suggested one group went underground and the other to the moon, but satellite scans found nothing there, so Jiang Yang decided to investigate the moon himself.

  • Li Xiaowa led Jiang Yang and Filiya into a vast underground city beneath the shelter.
  • Qing Fengxi identified the carvings on a stone wall as Devil writing and translated the first inscription, which said the Fourth Epoch rose through strength and perished through division.
  • Qing Fengxi explained that the murals showed horned people surviving the Apocalypse, discovering earlier ruins, and later splitting into two factions that fought a devastating war.
  • Qing Fengxi said one faction went underground while the winged faction ascended to the moon, and he suggested the moon-dwellers might help against the devils.
  • Jiang Yang questioned why the devils left these traces and why they had abandoned Earth, while Li Xiaowa proposed searching the moon for answers.
  • After learning that Heimdall’s satellites had detected nothing on the moon, Jiang Yang decided to go there himself.

Ch. 95Exploration

Jiang Yang and the others explored the Devil Civilization’s ruined city, where they found a preserved information-storage device in a pool of black liquid. After collecting the device and samples of the city’s durable building material, Jiang Yang returned to the shelter, where Aulisel arrived.

  • Jiang Yang, Li Xiaowa, Qing Fengxi, and the group explored the city and found that most buildings had served research and other specialized purposes.
  • The group entered a massive building and discovered a pool of black liquid resembling devil blood, which Li Xiaowa suspected had been used to develop devil bodies.
  • Jiang Yang exposed and retrieved a large square-based disc from the pool, and Qing Fengxi identified it as a device for storing information.
  • The group found little else intact but collected the city’s durable construction material, which Jiang Yang named obsidian.
  • Jiang Yang returned to the shelter, where Aulisel arrived.

Ch. 96Law Heart

Jiang Yang returned to the Great Snowfield Shelter and found Aulisel investigating the devil ruins. Months later, after researchers struggled to decipher the Square-Based Disc, Aulisel proposed using the Devil Lord’s Law Heart to activate it.

  • Jiang Yang told Aulisel what he had found in the devil ruins and urged her to bring him along if she explored underground.
  • Jiang Yang decided to wait until the Square-Based Disc was deciphered before traveling to the moon.
  • Aulisel summoned researchers from the other six great shelters to help decipher the disc, and Jiang Yang repeatedly visited to check their progress.
  • Li Xiaowa snapped at Jiang Yang for rushing the researchers, while Aulisel teased him about being put in his place.
  • Aulisel explained that the disc needed an unknown energy source and suggested that the Devil Lord’s Law Heart might activate it.

Ch. 97Morgan Civilization

Jiang Yang and the others used the Law Heart to activate the Square-Based Disc and summon a devil projection. The projection revealed that he belonged to the Morgan Civilization of the Fourth Epoch, leaving Jiang Yang questioning what became of that civilization.

  • Jiang Yang remembered Akanoz and retrieved the Law Heart he had stored in his domain.
  • Jiang Yang gave the Law Heart to Aulisel, who placed it on the Square-Based Disc.
  • Qing Fengxi activated the equipment, and the Law Heart dissolved into the disc as it filled with red light.
  • The Square-Based Disc projected a kindly-looking, horned devil who asked who they were and what age it was.
  • Jiang Yang told the projection they were survivors of the Fifth Epoch in the Sixth Earth Epoch.
  • The projection wondered whether his civilization had failed, then clarified that his people were called the Morgan Civilization, not the Devil Civilization.

Ch. 98A History of the Fourth Epoch Civilization

Jiang Yang and the others learned the history of the Fourth Epoch Morgan Civilization from a devil projection trapped in the Square-Based Disc. The account ended as countless enormous white monster birds descended upon Earth.

  • The projection explained that an accident during an experiment had trapped his soul in the Square-Based Disc after he followed Satan underground.
  • Jiang Yang and the others told the projection what the devil murals revealed about the civilization's split and vanished people.
  • Jiang Yang asked the projection to share the Morgan Civilization's history so later generations could preserve it.
  • The projection recounted how the Morgan People used the power of light to overcome other human races, then developed science alongside it under a dual-leader system.
  • The Morgan Civilization faced doomsday when enormous white monster birds descended upon Earth.

Ch. 99The Heavenly Lord Built the Moon

The Morgans survived the Fourth Epoch’s bird apocalypse, but the Heavenly Lord and the Devil Master’s war destroyed their chance to rebuild civilization. After the two leaders finally stopped fighting, the Devil Master took his followers underground while the Heavenly Lord built a Starry Sky Fortress that eventually became the moon.

  • The Morgans adapted to the strange white birds, developed powers through a new element, and the Heavenly Lord and Devil Master rose as their strongest leaders.
  • The two Morgan Lords joined forces to kill Ye, the king of the strange birds, and the birds turned to ash after Ye’s death.
  • The surviving Morgans began rebuilding their civilization, but the Heavenly Lord and the Devil Master suddenly went to war, killing countless people and ruining the rebuilt society.
  • As the Heavenly Lord’s side began to lose, he broke off his horns and gained white wings, while his followers also transformed and the two sides became evenly matched.
  • The Heavenly Lord and the Devil Master eventually ended their conflict, and the Devil Master led his followers underground while the Heavenly Lord built a Starry Sky Fortress above the world.
  • The Starry Sky Fortress gathered meteorites and dust over tens of thousands of years and became the moon of the Fifth Epoch and later civilizations.

Ch. 100A figure from behind

Jiang Yang and the others learned from Karl how the moon had been created as the Heavenly Lord's Starry Sky Fortress and that Jehovah was likely inside it. Jiang Yang planned to explore the moon, while Karl felt an unexplained familiarity with Jiang Yang's retreating figure.

  • Karl recounted how he had worked for Satan after the Morgans moved underground, then died and slept inside the Square-Based Disc until Jiang Yang and the others awakened him.
  • Jiang Yang questioned Karl about the Morgan Civilization, and Karl praised Satan as a heroic savior before Li Xiaowa challenged his account of Satan's present role.
  • Karl revealed that the Heavenly Lord had been named Hehua before becoming Jehovah and believed Jehovah was inside the Starry Sky Fortress.
  • Jiang Yang decided to prepare for a journey into the moon and told Aulisel to handle the remaining work.
  • As Jiang Yang left, Karl felt that he had seen his figure from behind before.
