The location of Supreme Yuanling's treasure hoard was exposed.
The surging Daoist Rhyme and auspicious golden light filling the sky drew countless powerful cultivators, especially those in nearby White Cloud City.
Countless streaks of sword light shot out one after another.
Among them, the first streak of white sword light was the fastest and most dazzling. Everyone who saw it could not help clicking their tongues in wonder.
"It's White Cloud Sword Venerable's eldest son. Even he's making a move."
"Looks like Supreme Yuanling's treasury is quite a draw."
Before Supreme Yuanling's treasury.
Chu Kuangren looked at the golden gate brazenly announcing its presence before him and shook his head helplessly. "What a damn rip-off."
"Let's go!"
Taking Lan Yu by the hand, Chu Kuangren charged through the golden gate in an instant.
The moment they entered the gate, a flash of light filled Chu Kuangren's and Lan Yu's vision, and then they found themselves in a dense forest.
"This is a minor world."
Chu Kuangren sounded surprised. According to legend, some mighty cultivators proficient in spatial power could construct small worlds, which were wondrous beyond measure.
Clearly, Supreme Yuanling had been one such mighty cultivator.
Chu Kuangren leaped into the air. Hovering a hundred meters above the ground, he surveyed his surroundings and discovered that vast mountain forests stretched all around him.
Not only that, but he also discovered a restriction in the sky. He could fly no higher than a hundred meters; any higher, and he would encounter a barrier.
After returning to the ground, Chu Kuangren took out the Treasure Map and discovered that the route on it had changed.
"Oh, it's a whole new map. How thoughtful." Chu Kuangren led Lan Yu in the direction indicated by the Treasure Map.
Not long after they left, a group of people also entered the minor world, and countless streams of Spirit Thought instantly surged in every direction.
"Where's the treasure?"
"Something's wrong. There are restrictions in this space. My Spirit Thought is confined to a range of three zhang. It's completely useless."
"Then use your eyes. We have to find it."
Everyone rushed off in different directions.
Before long, however, they began encountering all manner of difficulties.
Some encountered terrifying Demon Beasts, some triggered mechanisms and restrictions and were shredded by countless streams of Sword Qi, and some became trapped somewhere...
Meanwhile, in stark contrast, Chu Kuangren and Lan Yu strolled leisurely along a path filled with birdsong and fragrant flowers.
Holding the Treasure Map, Chu Kuangren said, "Tsk, tsk. This minor world hides countless mechanisms and restrictions, as well as powerful Demon Beasts. Without the correct route to guide you, finding the treasure would be as hard as climbing to heaven!"
He could practically imagine how bedraggled and overwhelmed the cultivators who had entered the minor world must have been by now.
About an hour later, Chu Kuangren arrived at a palace.
Hidden deep within the mountains, the palace gleamed with gold and jade, with Daoist Rhyme flowing around it. Runes were carved into the surrounding pillars.
"Found it."
Chu Kuangren's eyes lit up.
The two entered the palace, where an enormous collection of treasures glowing with precious light greeted them: spirit stones, Spiritual Marrow, pills, weapons...
There were even more than a dozen Supreme Artifacts and Saint Weapons.
Treasures filled the entire palace, and in one corner stood a pool filled with golden liquid. It was earth spirit marrow!
Although it was inferior to heavenly spirit marrow, this entire pool of earth spirit marrow was so valuable that even some Supremes would have coveted it.
At the center of the palace was a wooden box, lavishly fashioned and carved with dragons and phoenixes. Daoist Rhyme seemed to emanate from it.
"So many treasures." Lan Yu could not help expressing her surprise.
Even the Daoist heart of the Seventh Ancestor, who remained hidden, could not help stirring slightly. "As expected of Supreme Yuanling, who was hailed twenty thousand years ago as unrivaled beneath the Saints. Such wealth is truly astonishing."
"But could the treasures really be obtained so easily?"
"The treasure hoard of the great Supreme Yuanling actually has no mechanisms or restrictions at all? That seems rather unbelievable."
"Or does this little fellow's Treasure Map show the correct route? If so, his fortune truly runs deep."
Obtaining the treasury of a supreme among Supremes mere days after leaving the sect-such luck left even the Seventh Ancestor a little envious.
"This scepter has such a strong aura of light!" Suddenly, a scepter caught Lan Yu's attention, and she reached out to touch it.
Chu Kuangren stopped her, however. "Wait a moment."
"Young Master?" Lan Yu was a little puzzled.
"Careful. There might be traps."
Chu Kuangren spoke solemnly. He had seen scenes like this all too often in television dramas. Treasure hunters could not resist grabbing the treasures they found, only to trigger a trap and either get their companions killed or die along with them.
"Those television tropes won't happen on my watch." Saying something Lan Yu did not understand, Chu Kuangren began examining their surroundings.
He swept his Spirit Thought through the entire hall and carefully examined each treasure, firmly refusing to touch anything rashly.
Watching from concealment, the Seventh Ancestor could not help smiling faintly. This little fellow was quite vigilant.
Just as he was thinking this, he suddenly noticed something too, and his expression shifted slightly.
"Sure enough, something's fishy."
At that moment, Chu Kuangren discovered something.
Under his scrutiny, the surfaces of most of the treasures in the palace proved to be coated in a layer of extremely fine dust.
The dust was difficult to detect with the naked eye. Chu Kuangren had only noticed it after sweeping his Spirit Thought over it several times.
"But what is this stuff?"
Chu Kuangren pondered whether he should risk testing it. He had an undying body, after all.
"That is three yin pure king dust."
At that moment, an aged voice sounded beside Chu Kuangren's ear.
Something stirred faintly within Chu Kuangren. He knew this was the Dao Protector the Mystic Heaven Sect had assigned him, who simply had yet to reveal himself.
"Three yin pure king dust. I've only read about it in ancient texts myself. It is said to be a Supremely Yin and Evil Being. Though as fine as dust, its power is utterly terrifying."
"Even a Battle King who touches it will be corroded into a puddle of blood in an instant! Even Venerables dare not touch it lightly."
The Seventh Ancestor explained.
After hearing this, Lan Yu's expression changed slightly. She instinctively retreated several steps, looking at these treasures as though they were raging floods and savage beasts.
"This Supreme Yuanling was quite devious," Chu Kuangren said with a smile.
Then he asked the Seventh Ancestor how to deal with it.
"That's simple."
The Seventh Ancestor had barely finished speaking when a gentle breeze rose within the palace, gathering the countless motes of dust into an egg-sized clump.
"This substance is immensely powerful. Properly used, it could prove quite useful," the Seventh Ancestor said mildly.
Chu Kuangren hurriedly took out a bottle and stored the dust inside.
The substance affected living beings but had no effect on inanimate objects. Otherwise, the palace full of treasures would have been corroded away long ago.
"You're quite vigilant. Even I nearly failed to notice this three yin pure king dust, yet you discovered it. Very good, very good."
The Seventh Ancestor praised him.
"Safety first when you're away from home," Chu Kuangren said with a smile.
Then he began storing the palace's treasures in his Heaven and Earth Ring one by one. He also opened the wooden chest to take a look.
What lay inside was actually a strand of purple qi!
This strand of purple qi emanated terrifying Daoist Rhyme, but when the wooden box opened, waves of wondrous Daoist sounds echoed through the air, as though a Saint were preaching the Dao. A peculiar fragrance also spread out.
"This is... the foundation of Sainthood, Hongmeng Purple Qi!"
At that moment, the Seventh Ancestor could not help crying out in astonishment!
Chu Kuangren's eyes lit up as well.
Hongmeng Purple Qi-he had heard of it. Its reputation was immense. It was the foundation of Sainthood, an unsurpassed treasure!
Put it this way: if a Venerable possessed Hongmeng Purple Qi, he could very well become a Saint within a hundred years!
There was, however, a drawback to attaining Sainthood with Hongmeng Purple Qi: one would become only the weakest sort of Saint, and further advancement would be very difficult.
But regardless, that was still a Saint! An existence standing above hundreds of millions of living beings!
If this strand of Hongmeng Purple Qi were brought out into the world, it would be enough to drive countless cultivators mad!
