"That's right. Just me."
Chu Kuangren lined up the eight Jade Tallies and said calmly, "It seems I'm the only one who can receive your inheritance, Qian Emperor."
The man, who was Qian Emperor, was rather bewildered.
According to his calculations, the eight Jade Tallies would gather at the Emperor Palace, and eight supreme Heavenly Prides would come to compete for the inheritance he had left behind.
Why was there only one now?!
Had his calculations been wrong?
"Heavenly Pride of a later age, state your name."
"Chu Kuangren."
"How did you obtain these eight Jade Tallies?"
Qian Emperor asked in considerable puzzlement.
"They handed them to me themselves."
Chu Kuangren pondered for a moment before replying with a smile.
"Willingly?"
"Does that matter?"
"No." Qian Emperor shook his head, then said, "Although there's only one of you, I still can't simply hand you my opportunity. A test is still necessary."
"Of course. But before we begin, I have a few questions that have troubled me for a long time. Might I ask you to clear up my confusion, Qian Emperor?"
"Ask."
"Have you fallen, Qian Emperor?"
Chu Kuangren looked straight at Qian Emperor before him and asked calmly. He could tell that this Qian Emperor was merely an incarnation of a Spirit Thought.
He was just like Great Emperor Mingxin, whom Chu Kuangren had encountered in the past.
"I have not fallen yet," Qian Emperor said calmly.
"Where are you?"
"Above the heavens."
"Above the heavens?" Chu Kuangren was slightly surprised, then asked curiously, "Could it be the legendary Immortal World?"
Did immortals truly exist in this world?!
"No. Talk of an Immortal World is vague and elusive. The place above the heavens I speak of is called... the Outer Nine Heavens!" Qian Emperor said with a faint smile.
