News that Star-Slayer was attacking the Flame Martial Tribe on the Gods' orders soon spread across the land, and the Flame Martial Tribe naturally received word as well.
For a time, fear gripped the entire Flame Martial Tribe.
Although the Flame Martial Tribe had grown considerably stronger, the Star-Slayer Tribe was the strongest of the ten great tribes. Its troops were powerful and well-equipped, and no tribe in the entire Human Race could rival it.
More importantly, the Star-Slayer Tribe's chief, Star-Slayer, was the son of a human and a God. In everyone's eyes, he was the Gods' spokesman on earth.
Opposing him was practically the same as opposing the Gods.
Facing the Gods, they had already lost most of their fighting spirit before the battle even began.
How were they supposed to fight?
"Chief, what should we do now?"
"Yes, the Star-Slayer Tribe has over ten million warriors, including many cultivators. Star-Slayer himself possesses Divine Power, undefeated in battle and unstoppable in conquest. I'm afraid we're no match for them."
"That's right. I heard a cultivator went to challenge Star-Slayer a few years ago, only to be cleaved in two by a single stroke of his Slash-Wind Sword, the legendary weapon bestowed by a Deity. He couldn't even fight back."
"Why don't we surrender?"
"Surrender, my ass! I'd rather fight them to the death than be a coward."
"But fighting when you know you're certain to die makes you a reckless fool. Throwing your life away for nothing simply isn't worth it."
"We haven't even fought yet. How do you know we can't win?"
The Flame Martial Tribe's senior members argued among themselves. Among them, A Tu, their foremost warrior, was locked in a heated quarrel with an old man.
One advocated fighting, while the other advocated surrender.
