After Class A fell behind, he entered the group-based VIP exam and worked with Ai Morishita to uncover its selection pattern, which they kept from Katsuragi and the Sakayanagi Faction.

• Takahashi Ren joined the Light Music Club, befriended classmates and other students, and intervened when Kushida tried to frame Ayanokoji.
• As Class A debated whether Sakayanagi or Katsuragi should lead, Ren avoided taking sides and helped Yamamura report to Sakayanagi discreetly.
• Ryuen offered Katsuragi Class C’s supplies and aid in exchange for Personal Points, and Katsuragi accepted the deal after Ryuen offered evidence about other classes’ leaders.
• On the uninhabited island, Class A placed third, and Ren and his friends reasoned that leader guesses and Class D’s possible change of leader explained the lost points.
• The school began a group-based VIP exam, and Katsuragi urged Class A to avoid discussion so the VIP’s identity would remain hidden.
• Ai Morishita proposed that the VIPs had been selected by a pattern, and Ren used his system to infer that each VIP’s name matched a position based on the group’s zodiac animal in gojūon order.

Takahashi Ren navigated the Sports Festival, shifting relationships, and Class A’s final-exam challenge while Sakayanagi drew him further into her plans. After the exams, Ren learned that Mashima wanted advice about Akiyama and passed along a misleading message to Ai Morishita.

• Sakayanagi wished Ren a happy birthday, questioned him about Kamuro and the VIP exam, and used his favor to visit a tea shop with him.
• Mashima asked Ren to discreetly investigate Akiyama, while Ren began attending the gym and got to know her.
