Background

Su Chen originated on Earth and transmigrated into Yu Xiaogang on the Douluo Continent. Unlike the original-novel and animated versions, he rejected rigid cultivation routines, sought powerful opportunities, and eventually became a level 100 Golden Sacred Dragon deity 1.

While meditating in the Divine Realm, he was abruptly transported to Nuoding Academy. There he encountered Tang San and two other versions of Yu Xiaogang. To distinguish them, he named the animated counterpart Xiaogang and the original-novel counterpart Gangzi, while retaining the name Su Chen for himself 1.

He rejects both unprepared experimentation and excessive conservatism, arguing that stronger soul rings require appropriate medicinal preparation, physical conditioning, and mental resilience—not blind adherence to a universal age limit 4 16.

Although initially resentful of the system’s demand that he teach, he becomes deeply protective of his disciples. He handles Tang San’s accommodation himself, provides comfortable bedding for Tang San and Xiao Wu, and spends divine-grade resources to improve Tang San’s prospects 6 8 20.

His compassion coexists with ruthlessness. He refuses to surrender Tang San to Qian Renxue, tries unsuccessfully to prevent her erasure, and later searches other timelines for her. Recruiting Disciples at Nuoding Academy

Su Chen’s Golden Sacred Dragon overturns Tang San’s first impressions of the three competing teachers. After accepting Tang San, he rejects the other teachers’ low-age soul-ring proposals and insists on a first ring at least ten thousand years old 1 3 4.

He subsequently accepts Xiao Wu despite Xiaogang and Gangzi’s contempt for her Martial Soul. Her display of a red first ring exposes their poor judgment, and she formally chooses Su Chen as her teacher 6 7 8.

Changing Bibi Dong’s Fate

Su Chen redirects Qian Renxue’s revenge toward preventing Bibi Dong’s abuse. They travel into the past, confront Qian Xunji, and rescue Bibi Dong. Su Chen recruits her and urges her to preserve Spirit Hall’s support for commoners rather than turn against the continent 9 10 12.

The altered history erases Qian Renxue before his eyes. Bibi Dong becomes Pope and announces expanded commoner support and a campaign against Fallen Soul Masters, while Su Chen returns when his travel time expires 12 13.

Preparing Tang San’s First Soul Ring

Returning to find Tang San about to absorb a Mandala Snake’s ring, Su Chen stops the process and rebukes Xiaogang and Gangzi. He then takes Tang San to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, obtains medicinal resources and divine soul bones, and refines the Body-Refining Pill 15 16 18 19 20.

After recovering Qian Renxue from another timeline, he secures Tang San’s entry into Spirit Hall and transfers both young disciples to Spirit Hall Academy 20 22 23 25.

Revealing His Godhood

When Wu Tantu threatens him after Tang San defeats Hu Liena, Su Chen receives temporary access to his level 100 strength and overwhelms him. Qian Daoliu and Golden Crocodile Douluo later arrive over Qian Xunji’s death; Su Chen kills both 27 28 30 31.

In the Star Dou Great Forest, he kills Hun Zhan and saves the Myriad Demon King from Soul Hall’s attackers. The resulting agreement gives Tang San a ninety-thousand-year Demon-Eyed Tree ring, which Tang San absorbs in fifty seconds 33 34 35.

Defending Douluo Across Timelines

At Holy Soul Village, Su Chen kills Hun Ye after receiving God King soul power. Hun Mietian’s projection summons the Evil God, prompting further system-granted immortal power and defensive enhancements 36 37.

Dimensional rifts then bring cultivators into Douluo. Joined by characters from the original-novel and anime timelines, Su Chen defeats the invaders and organizes the world’s transition to immortal cultivation. Centuries later, his attainment of half-step Great Dao is followed by the collision with the Primordial World and Hongjun’s arrival 38.

The early Sky Screen describes ten-thousand-year first and second rings, followed by a hundred-thousand-year third ring and further hundred-thousand-year rings. Later displays instead show seven black rings and two red rings, while another passage calls his first ring ninety thousand years old 2 16 29.
• He does not initially know he is being broadcast. Only during the final invasion does he learn that the Sky Screen has shown his actions across timelines, explaining how Qian Renxue’s disguise was exposed 20 38.
• His transportation reflects the system’s restrictions. Despite possessing Limit Douluo strength, he chooses a carriage for the journey to Spirit Hall because he has only ten seconds of action time per day 21.
