But... how was she supposed to repair it? Sirin did not know how to repair this sort of thing, especially such an advanced machine.
"Gabriel, do you know how to repair a Machina Race unit?"
Sirin turned to Gabriel beside her. Gabriel was probably the only one who could do it! Her knowledge was incredibly extensive.
"Repair? I only know how to destroy things!"
Gabriel answered expressionlessly.
"...Is that so?"
Sirin eyed Gabriel suspiciously. Gabriel was well versed in a vast amount of knowledge about the major races of this world...
"..."
Gabriel said nothing.
Seeing that Gabriel would not answer, Sirin did not press her. If she could not, then so be it. Sirin had even thought she might be able to gain a mechanical girl of her own.
She turned to look at the mechanical girl before her. Because she had been buried in the dirt, the girl looked grimy, but even so, it could not completely hide her delicate appearance. At first glance, she looked like a cute girl of around ten, with long black hair. If not for the machinery visible all over her body and the two cable-like tubes resembling tails, she would have been an utterly flawless beautiful girl.
Just as Sirin was about to give up and turn away, the mechanical girl suddenly opened her ruby-like eyes. She sat up, her glass-bead eyes glowing red as they stared at Sirin. Ripples trembled in her pupils, as though she were scanning her.
"Eh! You're awake?" Sirin looked at the mechanical girl in surprise...
"Question: Did you retrieve this unit?" The girl's face showed no emotion, and even her voice had no fluctuation. It suited her identity as a Machina Race member perfectly.
"I guess so! You could say I saved you." Sirin nodded reluctantly.
