The cat demon Kanou stood amid the chaotic forest. It was as though heaven and earth were celebrating her rebirth.
Dark clouds hung over Kanou's head, while lightning roared above her like thunder dragons. It was as if her existence was unacceptable to the gods, and the gods in the heavens were enraged.
However, the cat demon did not care about any of it. Even the gods would not dare act rashly before such terrifying yokai power.
She was not some Nekomata, but the legendary Nine-tailed Cat Demon...
A yokai originating from the Divine Continent, evolved from the image in legends of the Nine-tailed Fox. It was a Great Yokai second only to the Golden-haired White-faced Nine-tailed Fox.
A Nine-tailed Cat Demon had nine tails, each tail representing one life. Each of those nine tails also possessed a different attribute: metal, wood, water, fire, earth, wind, rain, thunder, and lightning, giving her command over nine great attributes.
As a Nine-tailed Cat Demon, Kanou had lived for over a thousand years, until the gods in heaven plotted against her a century ago and sealed her here.
