Chapter 20: I Don't Have Any
In the underground shelter, firelight illuminated a room of seventy or eighty square meters. A large table stood in the middle, laden with food and wine.
Of course, it was mostly canned food and salads that required no cooking.
Bronya and the others sat around the table, silently eating the food before them under the eager gazes of Black Wolf and his people. But when Seele saw Bronya eat and was about to start eating herself, Bronya stopped her immediately.
More than ten minutes passed before Black Wolf suddenly stood up with a glass of red wine in hand.
"Are you all satisfied with today's hospitality?"
"Oh! The food here is plentiful. I feel great! I'm very satisfied." Miller stood up and praised it with exaggerated American-style gestures and a smile.
"This is the most lavish meal I've had in a long time! Though I would've preferred steak!" Masona said, swallowing a mouthful of canned beef.
"As long as you're satisfied, that's good. But... my food isn't so easy to eat."
Black Wolf's expression abruptly changed, his eyes turning venomous. The next moment... more than twenty people carrying firearms rushed in and quickly surrounded Garcia, Bronya, and the others.
"What do you mean?"
Garcia and the others were stunned by the sudden move, but they immediately drew the pistols they had concealed on themselves. They had known Black Wolf was no good and had come prepared, but they hadn't expected... Black Wolf to be so direct.
"I have a special preference: absolute control." After saying that, Black Wolf clapped his hands. Three people dressed in white approached him, each carrying several syringes.
"**?"
Bronya looked at the syringes before her and seemed to realize something.
"**? Of course not. It's a gift from God.
