On the way home, Shiina Mashiro suddenly stopped, then blurted out three words without warning.
"What is it?"
"Why did Rita stand in front of me?"
Shiina Mashiro quietly raised her head and stared at Rita. Shiro's gaze seemed capable of piercing straight through someone's heart; it was simply too pure and innocent.
"I promised Auntie that I would do everything in my power to protect Shiro's safety. It's my duty!"
For some reason, Rita barely had to think before those words slipped out... They seemed to be something Rita had once said to the Captain.
So... did that make Shiina Mashiro my Captain now?
If so, I surprisingly didn't dislike it!
Comparing Shiina Mashiro to the Captain from Honkai Impact 3rd, Shiro was cuter. I could accept Shiina Mashiro as the Captain more easily.
"Rita..."
Her voice sounded like a kitten's soft purr. After thinking for a moment, Shiina Mashiro continued walking alongside Rita with catlike steps. Rita turned her head to look at Shiro. Perhaps she really was a little kitten.
A kitten as the Captain...
But the only one Rita deeply loved was Lady Durandal.
Her feelings for Shiina Mashiro were merely those for a beloved pet, along with Rita's feelings toward the Captain.
Rita thought silently...
"Jigoku Shoujo"
"My submission was rejected."
Shiina Mashiro held her manuscript pages as she sat lifelessly on the floor, staring expressionlessly at the drawings in her hands.
"Want me to call Ayano?"
Rita looked at Shiina Mashiro on the floor and felt a little heartbroken. No one knew better than Rita how much Shiro loved manga... For manga, she had even given up traditional art.
Yet Shiina Mashiro had failed several times after submitting her work!
Come to think of it, Shiina Mashiro's editor was also a friend of Rita
