Rita cast a sidelong glance at the girl beside her, her charming eyes carrying a faint allure as she softly replied. She could understand her feelings quite well.
That feeling of returning to one's hometown after many years was something many people had experienced. It was only natural to be excited.
"Those two seniors don't seem to be from around here. They must have come from some city outside, right? I wonder what they're doing in a backwater like this."
The boys and girls seated at the back looked at Rita and the other girl with obvious curiosity.
"From the city? Do you think they're from Tokyo? They must have been to places like amusement parks, movie theaters, and even cafes, right?"
"You can find those in any city. But speaking of Tokyo... do you think they've been to that legendary, super-tall Tokyo Tower, or even the Imperial Palace?"
"Huh? Isn't the Imperial Palace in Kyoto?"
A twin-tailed girl suddenly looked surprised at that. She was around ten years old, still an elementary school student.
"What era's history are you living in? You weren't paying attention in class again, were you? The capital was moved to Tokyo after the Meiji Restoration."
The little boy beside her couldn't help refuting her.
"What? The teacher barely teaches us anything, okay? She always just makes us read by ourselves."
The twin-tailed girl was thoroughly unconvinced. Since there were so few students, elementary and middle school classes were held in the same classroom, and there was only one teacher, so it was impossible to teach everyone together. Only after reaching high school would they leave this place to attend school in nearby cities.
"I'm so jealous. I really want to visit Tokyo too."
