Himeko... With the Honkai aptitude of an ordinary person, she rose time and time again through Honkai's corrosion, perhaps only to prove something—to prove her existence, and the value of what she fought for.
And during the battle against the Herrscher of the Void, she finally had the chance to prove the value of her existence.
Those who lived toward death came to understand, within their finite lives, the limitations of being human. Yet Muryōtō Himeko, even in her final moments, still faced death with courage, dignity, and generosity.
The Future
Little Himeko emerged from the bathroom in pink pajamas, still using a towel to dry her red hair.
Droplets fell onto the floor as Little Himeko's soft, pale feet crossed the clean wooden boards. When she saw Himeko staring blankly into space, she stopped.
"Older sister, you should go take a bath too!"
"...What did you say?"
Little Himeko's voice brought Himeko back to her senses, and she asked instinctively.
"I've finished bathing already. Older sister, you should wash up too! Oh, right... you can make do with mom's clothes for now."
Little Himeko moved closer to Himeko, speaking as she dried her hair.
"Oh, no need! I brought pajamas."
Himeko climbed out from beneath the kotatsu. Looking at the adorable Little Himeko before her, she wore a smile. Himeko had already made up her mind—she would change Little Himeko's fate.
That path had never truly suited Little Himeko. She could have been happier.
Though she had never regretted taking that path, it had been far too difficult and painful!
There was no need for her to go through it all again.
As for the Honkai... Himeko would find a way.
Himeko approached Little Himeko, gently patted her head beneath her cute gaze, then headed toward the bathroom.
