Hiyamaru nodded seriously, then flew in front of Sirin. Her adorable big eyes stared straight at Sirin, and the fox ears atop her head twitched. Then she raised an arm... and a tachi appeared in her hand.
"With me here, I won't let you hurt a single hair on Big Sister's head!"
Staring at the Sirin before her, Hiyamaru understood... this Sirin was no longer the "niece" she had known. She was someone else.
"You..."
"The Twelfth Herrscher of the previous era, yet you obediently serve a human. As an emissary of god, don't you find that shameful?"
"Sirin" stared at Hiyamaru without rushing to attack, speaking with contempt in her voice.
"What do you know? What's wrong with listening to big sister? What's so great about being a Herrscher? Following big sister means getting piping-hot, soft, springy, sweet fried tofu to bite into."
"Do Herrschers get that?"
Faced with Sirin's question, Hiyamaru planted her hands on her hips and answered with complete confidence.
"F-fried tofu? You abandoned your duty as a Herrscher over some so-called fried tofu?!"
As if Hiyamaru's words had stunned her, "Sirin" wore an utterly incredulous expression. The duty of an emissary of god had actually fallen before fried tofu.
"What? You're looking down on fried tofu?! Do you have any idea how delicious fried tofu is?! You simply don't understand what an irresistible food fried tofu is." Hiyamaru grew a little angry at this different Sirin's disdainful tone toward fried tofu.
You're just a Herrscher. What the hell do you know about fried tofu?
"Enough! Traitor... go die with your precious fried tofu!"
It seemed "Sirin" could no longer tolerate Hiyamaru's words. She summoned a row of Spears of the Void before herself and fired them directly at Hiyamaru.
