This wouldn't do. She had to think of another way.
Everything the rabbit yokai had said about her tragic ordeal was a lie. She had no companions, nor had any vicious tengu ever bullied rabbits.
However, she did know where a group of tengu could be found, and she hated that group intensely. Those tengu were not exactly vicious... but they were incredibly arrogant.
Still, there was no denying that those tengu were very powerful.
That was why she intended to use them to set Fu Hua up.
As for why she wanted to set Fu Hua up and take revenge on her, that went back to Fu Hua's kick this morning.
She was no ordinary rabbit, but the Inaba White Rabbit from Japanese mythology.
She was the rabbit recorded in Japan's Kojiki—the one who deceived the sharks in the sea into forming a bridge to shore, only to have the last shark strip off her skin, before Ōkuninushi helped heal her. Because the White Rabbit foretold Ōkuninushi's happiness, she also came to symbolize "good fortune."
Of course, that had happened a very, very long time ago.
The mountain forest Fu Hua had destroyed with a single kick was where the Inaba Rabbit had been living recently. Though she had only been staying there temporarily, a number of yokai had gathered around her, and they had been living leisurely together.
Yet no one had expected that a perfectly fine mountain forest would be wiped out by Fu Hua's kick.
As for the Inaba Rabbit, blessed with natural luck... although the mountain collapse had been deafening and looked extremely dangerous, she herself had not suffered any injuries thanks to her good fortune.
But the lesser yokai gathered around her had not been so lucky. Though those little yokai... were
