Chapter 4: A Familiar World
The weather was somewhat sweltering, making everyone restless and irritable. Several guards at the town entrance lounged lazily on the ground, paying no attention to passersby coming and going. They would usually just give them a glance before continuing to chat with their companions.
That was until Durandal and Rita approached. The guards all turned to look at them and quickly stood up.
Durandal and Rita were completely different from the people here. Whether it was their attire or their bearing, it was obvious at first glance that they were no ordinary people.
Although they did not recognize the two, they hurried forward to greet them when they approached.
"May I ask who you two are, my ladies?"
The guards did not know Durandal, but they could clearly sense from the two of them an aura like that of an Imperial general. He had once seen an Imperial general before, and it had been the same... imposing.

The guards were so frightened that they immediately wet themselves, not daring to ask another question. They regretted it deeply as well... They had clearly known these visitors were not to be provoked, so why had they still questioned them?
