Having obtained the position, Rita still had to make a trip there and let those subordinates know who their new boss was, lest they come looking for trouble at a critical moment.
If she failed to hold herself back and killed someone then, there would be nothing she could do about it...
Upon arriving at the Security Department headquarters, the first thing Rita did was have someone gather all the Security Team captains for a meeting.
However, they were not all in the same place, so she would have to wait a while. Rita was in no hurry... she simply had someone bring her important intelligence and past records concerning the Security Department.
After roughly reviewing the Security Department's files and the results of the cases they had handled, Rita nearly failed to stop herself from destroying the entire force.
"Had they already fallen this far?"
As the Imperial Capital's law enforcement branch, there was no fairness to speak of. Rita discovered that whenever it came to public order or cases, they basically helped whoever had money and power.
They ignored countless matters that offered no profit...
After reading several reports, Rita had no desire to continue. Even these reports laid out in the open were relatively mild.
Even among the Security Team captains, there were barely any who were clean. They colluded with merchants, illegally reaped enormous profits, and framed others...
That was probably nothing unusual.
"Looks like I'll have to clean them out one by one when I have the time."
Rita was in no hurry to kill the Minister... but she did not care much about these people. The vacant positions would even be perfect for placing her own trusted subordinates.
The only problem was that she did not yet have any trusted subordinates of her own...
