Abyss portals covered the Federation's entire territory like festering sores.
"Dad! Wh... what's that?" A little boy tugged at his father's hand, his voice filled with terror.
"Huh?!"
Before his voice had faded, the father had already split down the middle, the two strips of flesh falling to the ground.
People looked up at the sky in terror. From deep within those rifts came an unending succession of roars—the bellows of the Abyssal Creatures, the omen of doomsday's arrival.
Abyssal Creatures surged out of the vortices like a black tide.
Their numbers seemed endless, blotting out the sky completely.
Abyss demon worms, their bodies covered in festering tumors, fell in swarms. Wherever they passed, they left trails of corrosion, as though even the air hissed as they ate away at it.
Enormous abyss behemoths stepped out of the portals, their bodies as massive as mountains. Every step shook the earth. Before them, high-rises collapsed like fragile building blocks, sending dust billowing across the sky.
Astonishingly corrosive black abyss mist spread through the streets like the shadow of death. Wherever it reached, Soul Tool machinery failed one after another, and flames and thick smoke rose in succession.
People's cries, the bestial roars of the Abyssal Creatures, and the thunder of collapsing buildings intertwined into a symphony of doomsday.
Despair soaked into everyone's hearts like cold water. They gazed helplessly at the sky, as though they could already see their own end.
The Federation's Soul Master legions and mecha forces hastily rushed into battle at the first moment.
Yet portals were scattered throughout the major cities. Defending one point left another exposed, and the powerful fighters exhausted themselves racing from place to place as district after district fell.
Fleeing civilians poured toward the city shelters, their faces filled with terror and helplessness.
