Ch. 43Cold Ash Severed Souls

Dugu Bo used Cold Ash Soul Separation to strip Tang Zong of his Martial Soul, forcing Li Hanshuang to retreat with him. After recovering at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Dugu Bo warned Ah Yin that Spirit Hall would likely target him again.

  • Dugu Bo concealed Cold Ash Soul Separation in poisonous mist and used it to make Tang Zong lose his Martial Soul and Soul Rings.
  • Li Hanshuang carried the howling Tang Zong away, while Dugu Bo collapsed unconscious after the battle.
  • Li Hanshuang reported the failed mission to a purple-robed bishop and explained that Dugu Bo's poison could strip Soul Masters of their Martial Souls.

Ch. 45Dugu Bo's Battle

Dugu Bo tried to escape Dark Crow’s pursuit but was trapped at Sunset Forest’s edge by Demon Subduing Douluo, Qin Zhen, and the other Spirit Hall Douluos. Facing defeat, Dugu Bo burned his blood essence, immobilized all four with his eighth soul skill, and unleashed his ninth soul skill at them.

Dugu Bo fought Qin Zhen to protect Ah Yin, but Qin Zhen subdued him after the poison and battle weakened his transformed body. The Ice Dragon King and Fire Dragon King then unleashed a crushing pressure across Sunset Forest, leaving everyone unconscious, while Ah Yin heard the Dragon Kings say their injuries were not enough.

  • Dugu Bo threw the Wishful Hundred Treasure Pouch into the grass, then attacked Qin Zhen with his Human-Snake True Form as Time Freeze ended.

Ch. 47After the battle

  • Lan Changsheng asked Ah Yin to tell him in detail what the two Dragon Kings had done.

Ch. 49A Blade of Grass Subdues the Dragon Kings

  • The Fire Dragon King asked whether Lan Changsheng feared the Ice Dragon King would bully Ah Yin after he left.

Ch. 50Bai Wen's arrival

  • Flender said he would assess the children the next morning and insisted they follow his teaching methods, which Tang Hao accepted.
  • Tang Hao chose to keep watch from the roof in case Spirit Hall followed them, while Tang San and Xiao Wu settled into the back courtyard.
  • Tang San overheard Flender and Yu Xiaogang speaking quietly about Spirit Hall and whether Yu Xiaogang could protect his disciple.

Ch. 53Compensation delivered

Tang San and Xiao Wu passed Flender’s tests and began endurance training at Shrek Academy. In the Sunset Forest, Bai Wen delivered Spirit Hall’s compensation to Lan Changsheng, while Bibi Dong planned to spare him for now and search for Tang San.

  • Bai Wen left after confirming that the Blue Silver Emperor was no longer in the valley.

Ch. 54A different Soul Ring

  • Dugu Yan absorbed Azure Fallen Radiance, and her Life Dragon Snake manifested with a third Soul Ring.

Ch. 55Trials

Dugu Yan gained an unusual Soul Ring through a connection with the Shadow Python, prompting Lan Changsheng to consider a new way for Soul Masters to obtain Soul Rings. At Shrek Academy, Flender intensified Tang San and Xiao Wu’s training and sent them to seek bounty missions, but they found none they could handle.

  • Dugu Yan asked Lan Changsheng about her new Soul Ring, and he discovered that the Shadow Python’s weakened soul lived within it and had connected itself to her.

Lan Changsheng left Tang San in Flender’s care, pointing to Dugu Yan’s soul-bone connection as a possible first step toward that goal.

  • The old village chief explained that he had refined a Red Boar cub into medicine for children and that the hunter later persuaded him to target Tang San and Xiao Wu.
  • Tang San rejected the chief’s plea to spare the villagers and told Flender that the village could not be allowed to remain.
