Tabby Cat led the way, with Qin Yan following behind, while a whole crowd of cats trailed after her with their tails held high.

All the cats here followed the little girl like tails of her own.

Secretary Lin took a picture of the scene and sent it to the group chat.

Secretary Lin: The little one is so cute. Her appeal is terrifying-all the cats in our company park are running after her.

This was the secretaries' group chat, with over a dozen members, all secretaries who reported directly to Fu Yunting.

Secretary Shen: Aaaah!!! Secretary Lin, come upstairs. I want to go down too!

Secretary Wang: She looks like a little red panda. How can a child be this cute? She's even prettier than a mixed-race baby.

Secretary Liu: I don't really like children, but I genuinely want one this pretty.

Secretary Lin: She's really so well-behaved. Her voice is so soft, and she even called me big sister.

At that moment, who knew how many secretaries were consumed with envy and jealousy toward Secretary Lin.

Looking after children, especially the boss's child, was the most exhausting and thankless job.

Children a little over three were the hardest to handle. They really were a nuisance to everyone, even dogs.

A day of babysitting felt as if it could shorten your life by ten years!

But Qin Yan really was so easy to look after.

Secretary Lin had initially agreed to watch her because she had been captivated by her looks.

Now she had completely fallen for this well-behaved little girl.

She hadn't cried or fussed all this time, listened to advice, and spoke in a soft, sweet voice. There was nothing but good about her!

Qin Yan followed Sangbiao Number One to a landscaped flower bed beside the road.

"Meow!"

Qin Yan followed inside, pushed the flowers aside, and saw a cat hiding there, its body covered in blood and its guard raised high.

Qin Yan crouched down and met the odd-eyed cat's gaze.

"Kitty, you're hurt."

One look made Secretary Lin nervous. "Sweetie, don't move. This cat looks aggressive. Cat scratches really hurt, and you'll need shots too."

Qin Yan shook her head. "Kitty needs a doctor."

Her little face was solemn, as if she were reasoning with the injured cat.

"If you don't see a doctor, it'll hurt a lot, and you'll die."

She had almost died before.

If she died, she wouldn't be able to find her grandpa or her uncles.

"Kitty, be good."

Secretary Lin was calling security for help when, in the blink of an eye, she saw Qin Yan reach out her hand, frightening her into a sharp gasp.

She watched the cat anxiously. If it made any move to attack, she would throw herself forward!

Fortunately, with Sangbiao Number One and the other cats watching, there was no need for Secretary Lin at all.

In the cats' eyes, Qin Yan was an especially enticing little cake, sweet-smelling and soft, and catnip-flavored too.

The cats couldn't bear to hurt her. They just wanted to snuggle and rub against her.

Though the injured cat was highly wary of humans, after Qin Yan stroked its head, its bristling fur gradually settled.

Before long, the injured cat came out on its own.

It licked Qin Yan's fingers.

Unafraid of getting her clothes dirty, Qin Yan carefully picked the cat up with some difficulty.

Secretary Lin said, "Let me. I'll carry it."

But the cat wouldn't let anyone except Qin Yan near it. The moment Secretary Lin reached out, it hissed fiercely at her.

Qin Yan tilted her pretty little face up slightly and told her, "Big sister, I can hold it."

"Let's see a doctor."

Secretary Lin said, "Then let's go. That pet hospital can treat it."

The cat was quite large, a long-haired calico.

For someone Qin Yan's age, it was a little heavy.

But she held it steadily and headed toward the pet hospital with an especially determined gaze.

Secretary Lin said, "Doctor Song, come take a look at this cat."

The calico cat was soon taken for an examination.

"The wounds on this cat were made by a knife. Several needles were also driven into its body."

In this condition, every movement was very painful for it.

Yet it had endured being carried all the way here.

Qin Yan took out her pocket money and held it up to the doctor.

"To treat kitty."

There were five hundred yuan in total.

When Doctor Song met those large, extraordinarily clear eyes, his heart melted.

This was a little girl as pure and pretty as a cat.

Secretary Lin said, "Sweetie, we don't need to pay. Your uncle has put plenty of money on his account here. It's enough to treat that Calico Cat."

Qin Yan blinked. "Really?"

Doctor Song asked, "Her uncle?"

Secretary Lin said, "My boss."

Song Huai pushed up the glasses on his nose. "Then there's no problem. Your uncle really has deposited quite a lot here. Never mind this one cat-you could bring another dozen or so, and it still wouldn't be a problem."

"Come to think of it, you should call me Uncle too, little one. Your uncle and I were college roommates. This little shop of mine relies entirely on him to stay afloat."

Whether the stray cats at Fu Yunting's company needed treatment, vaccinations, or any kind of cat food, all their supplies came from his shop.

Qin Yan obediently called him Uncle.

Song Huai was envious. That foul-tempered fellow Fu Yunting actually had such a pretty niece!

Song Huai soon took his staff in to operate on the cat and remove the needles from its body. Its hind leg had been broken and needed to be set again.

Just as the surgery was nearing its end, Fu Yunting found his way here.

"Uncle."

The moment she saw him, Qin Yan ran over.

But just as she reached him and opened her little arms for a hug, she looked down, saw how dirty she was, and drew her arms back.

"Uncle, I'm dirty."

She pinched her clothes and spoke in a tiny voice, her large eyes looking up at him pleadingly.

She looked utterly pitiful.

Actually, Qin Yan was a little afraid-afraid of being scolded.

She remembered many times when "Mom" had scolded her for getting her clothes dirty.

Fu Yunting crouched down, not minding at all, and tried to pick her up.

Qin Yan stepped back slightly.

She shook her little head.

"No hugs. My clothes are dirty."

Fu Yunting said, "What's there to be afraid of? If clothes get dirty, we can just wash them. I have a change of clothes at the office too."

Qin Yan asked cautiously, "Uncle, you don't mind?"

"Dirty clothes mean getting scolded."

Fu Yunting understood. Inwardly, he cursed that family up and down. Those inhuman scumbags!

"Secretary Lin, go buy the little one some clothes to change into."

Then he stroked Qin Yan's hair and told her earnestly.

"If your clothes get dirty, just change out of them and wash them clean. You never need to worry."

Qin Yan felt happy, but her nose stung and her eyes grew a little red.

"Mm-hmm."

Fu Yunting gathered her into his arms.

Qin Yan buried her face against his chest, her little hands clutching his clothes as she quietly cried for a while.

"I like you, Uncle."

After a while, her muffled little voice reached him.

Fu Yunting patted her back. "Don't be afraid. If anyone bullies you again, tell your eldest uncle. I'll hit them back for you."

Qin Yan nodded obediently and softly agreed.

The cat's surgery was over, but it would take a while for the anesthesia to wear off, and the cat needed to stay at the hospital to recover for now.

So, after visiting the still-unconscious kitty, Qin Yan went back to the company with her eldest uncle.

She had a bath and changed her clothes.

The dress Secretary Lin had bought her was a beautiful, elaborate little Lolita dress.

It was a soft pink, and there was a cat-ear headband too.
