And now they did have a grandson, but he had the supermale gene.
Their son had become a monk, so this might be the only grandson they would ever have. Neither of them could bear to have the pregnancy terminated, so the baby had been born.
The woman had run off after giving birth, leaving just the two elderly grandparents to raise him.
Their grandson had truly worn them down, body and soul.
"Call our daughter and tell her to send some money. Otherwise, we'll go to her company and find her."
Shen Fu had no attention to spare for them now. She was consumed by anxiety.
"How could she have been found? How is she still alive?"
Naturally, she had heard about what had happened with the Fu Family.
Others might think the child belonged to a relative, but she knew that she was Fu Qinghuan's.
The child she had abandoned deep in the mountains.
Those members of the Fu Family would never raise someone else's child, even a relative's.
"The Fu Family will definitely investigate."
Once they did, she would be finished.
No, she couldn't fall into the Fu Family's hands.
She began preparing to flee.
What Shen Fu didn't know was that the Fu Family already had their eyes on her.
Naturally, Fu Yunting and Old Master Fu were fully aware of her movements.
When Fu Yunting received the news, his gaze turned utterly cold.
He tightened his grip on his phone. "So Shen Fu really is connected to this."
If she really had switched Yanyan out, then what exactly had her role been in the whole affair?
"Eldest Uncle."
Qin Yan carried a cup of coffee over, walking very slowly for fear of spilling it.
"For you."
Facing her, the chill in Fu Yunting's eyes faded, replaced by gentleness.
"Thank you, little one."
The corners of Qin Yan's mouth lifted into a sweet smile.
"Go watch some cartoons. Once I finish up here, we'll go home."
Qin Yan obediently nodded.
She watched cartoons for a while, then turned off the tablet on her own when her allotted time was up and did her eye exercises.
Then she slipped out of the office and peeked around furtively like a little cat.
The secretaries outside were all busy and didn't notice her.
She went to the break room to get some milk.
When she arrived at the break room carrying Tuantuan, two people were already there.
Both were drinking coffee to keep themselves going.
Fu Yunting's company was large, and everyone who made it in was outstanding. The pay was high, but so was the workload.
When they got too tired, they would take a short break. The two women drank coffee, browsed their phones, and chatted.
"Oh, have you seen this video? Someone found a slaughterhouse. So many dogs and cats were killed in there."
"Oh, that one. I saw it too. It's getting lots of views. Apparently, they counted over three hundred dead cats and dogs, including quite a few pet dogs."
"That's despicable. Aren't they afraid of retribution for killing so many living creatures?"
"I couldn't even finish watching that video. It was too awful."
The two discussed it for a while, then left after finishing their coffee.
Only after they had gone did Qin Yan poke her little head out from behind the wall.
"Why would they kill the kitties and doggies?"
Feeling down and a little unhappy, she gently squeezed Tuantuan.
Tuantuan rubbed against her hand in comfort.
Qin Yan got her milk, and a secretary spotted her on her way back.
"Sweetie, did you get that milk yourself? Why didn't you ask us? I could have gotten it for you."
Qin Yan sounded nervous, but she answered obediently.
"I can reach it."
"What a good girl. Would you like some candy?"
Qin Yan shook her head. "I have lots of candy already. I can't finish it all."
"Uncle said if I eat too much, little bugs will grow in my teeth."
"I don't want bugs."
Her voice was soft and sweet, and her eyes were so big. What a beautiful little child.
"You're such a good girl, sweetie. You can even stop yourself from eating too much candy."
"And you can get your own milk, too."
"Do you like little cakes, sweetie?"
All the praise made Qin Yan's little face flush pink. ?(????w????)?
The other secretaries all took a moment to come over and tease the shy, beautiful little darling.
Although Qin Yan was shy, she didn't run away.
She was simply terribly embarrassed by all the praise.
All she had done was behave herself and get her own milk. Why did it seem as though she had done something amazing?
"Ahem..."
Assistant Shen appeared and rescued the little child, who was surrounded by the secretaries and looking a little lost.
Inside Fu Yunting's office, it was much quieter at once.
Qin Yan sipped her sweet milk and sat obediently on the sofa, waiting for her uncle.
When Fu Yunting finished his work, he left on time with Qin Yan.
Before going home, they stopped to check on Calico Cat and gave the cat some more food.

"A bunch of fucking idiots, raising dogs like their own sons. If they've got so much money to spare, why don't they give it to me?"
In the still of the night, whimpers of pain came from a dark alley somewhere.
A man raised an iron rod and brought it down again and again on a living creature stuffed inside a burlap sack on the ground.
The sounds from within grew weaker and weaker, and the smell of blood spread.
The man cursed as he struck.
Eventually, no more sounds came from the sack.
Excitement gleamed in the man's eyes. "Another dead beast."
"That woman's face is going to be hilarious when she can't find this dog."
He crouched down, about to skin the dog with a knife, when a sound came from the mouth of the alley.
He looked over warily.
"Who's there?"
Under the dim light, the man saw a dog.
An entirely black puppy sat a short distance away, watching him.
The man grinned. "What luck today. Here comes another one."
"Come here, puppy. Come here. Tsk, tsk, tsk..."
The black puppy wagged its tail and walked over.
The smile on the man's face grew wider and wider. He completely failed to notice that as the puppy approached, its shadow on the wall gradually grew enormous and monstrous.
When the puppy came close, he raised the knife in his hand.
The next second, he seemed to see something terrifying.
Thick black mist billowed. There was no puppy anymore.
A massive shadow engulfed the man. It was a ferocious, gigantic black dog.
And that dog had two heads, with two pairs of blood-red eyes staring straight at him.
"M-monster!"
The man was so frightened that he lost control of his bowels and bladder. He tried to run, but his legs gave out, leaving him to scramble and crawl deeper into the alley.
But soon, a sharp pain tore through his leg.
"Aaaah!!!"
His screams were loud. Strangely, neither the people living nearby nor those passing along the street beside the alley heard a thing.
The night passed. Only when someone walked by during the day did they discover the man's horribly mangled body.
"Local news report: a body was discovered deep in an alley on Thirteenth Street last night. The victim is suspected to have been mauled to death by a large animal. Residents in the surrounding area are advised to exercise caution..."
"Oh my god, I live around there."
"Could a lion or tiger have escaped from some zoo?"
Qin Yan followed Secretary Lin into the secretaries' office.
Her eldest uncle had a meeting first thing that morning and had left her with Secretary Lin again.
She was putting a dress on a little teddy bear.
Suddenly, Secretary Lin hugged her and took several deep sniffs.
"Sweetie, you smell so nice. How come you smell like Pomelo Scent today? Holding you and taking a big, deep breath makes me feel refreshed all over."
The others also sidled over for a secret sniff of the pretty little darling, feeling even more motivated to work.
Qin Yan's little face was flushed. Soft and meek, she didn't know how to refuse and was held and sniffed several times.
She looked just like a pitiful little kitten.
"It's... it's soap."
"Huh? Sweetie, you mean this scent comes from soap? I always thought it was perfume. It smells so lovely, fresh, and natural. I was going to ask what brand of perfume it was so I could buy some too."
"Wait, perfume wouldn't last this long either. It really is soap?"
What kind of soap had a scent that lasted this long?
