"Grandpa."

A soft, sweet little child's voice came through a second before Fu Yunting hurriedly hung up.

Fu Yunting raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Hah..."

Beside him, Assistant Shen asked, "Boss?"

Fu Yunting said, "We're going back tomorrow. I want to see whether the old man's possessed."

Could his old man have made that sound under normal circumstances?

Meanwhile, at the Fu Family's old residence, Old Master Fu paid no attention to the fact that his call had been disconnected.

He held Qin Yan, smiling so much that the wrinkles at the corners of his eyes deepened considerably.

He opened a box and took out an exquisitely crafted gold neck ring.

A longevity lock hung in the middle, surrounded by little bells carved with auspicious cloud patterns.

The bells made no sound, though. Too much noise was bad for the ears, after all.

The entire neck ring was engraved with patterns representing blessings. Clearly, a great deal of care had gone into it.

It was also light enough not to weigh down the little one's neck.

As soon as she put it on, she looked much more precious.

Qin Yan was already dressed in a snow-white bunny onesie, its hood covering her little head. Long bunny ears hung down behind her, making her already small face look even tinier.

The energy from the Life Tree Crystal Core inside her was constantly repairing her body. With the Fu Family also taking good care of her, her cheeks were the first to fill out.

Her fair little face had soft, plump baby cheeks, her eyes were big and clear, and her little lips were pink. She was a beautiful, cuddly baby through and through.

"Still too thin. You need to eat more."

She would look even better with a little more meat on her bones.

Qin Yan lowered her head to look at the neck ring, her dark eyes sparkling.

"Grandpa, I like it."

"As long as you like it. Come, have something to eat."

Qin Yan's stomach was still in poor shape. Having been severely starved before, she could only eat a little at a time-not even half a small bowl of rice. Eating more made her uncomfortable and caused her to vomit.

Old Master Fu's heart ached at the sight. He mentally cursed those who had bullied her and eighteen generations of their ancestors, then instructed the kitchen to keep food ready at all times, all nutritious and easy to digest.

Since she could not eat much in one sitting, she would have small, frequent meals.

This time, they had prepared a small serving of Bird's Nest and Tremella Soup, along with Chinese Yam Cake.

Both provided nutrients and were good for her stomach.

She could now eat things besides rice porridge, but anything too irritating was still off-limits.

Qin Yan sat beside Old Master Fu, eating little bites by herself and remembering to feed the Slime too.

The Slime scored quite a bit more fruit.

The Fu Family's fruit came from special suppliers. It was expensive and quite delicious.

After the meal, he took Qin Yan out for a walk.

The day passed with Qin Yan eating, sleeping, and spending time with Old Master Fu.

Qin Yan felt thoroughly content and slept especially soundly that night.

Qin Yan woke at around eight the next morning.

The Slime beside her was also sleeping soundly.

But there seemed to be something underneath the Slime.

Curious, Qin Yan picked the Slime up.

"What's this?"

It looked like the soap she used to wash her hands. It was a small, round cake, just big enough to cover her tiny palm.

As soon as her finger touched the pale purple soap patterned with a bunch of grapes, words appeared before her eyes.

[A bar of grape-scented soap. It may be small, but it smells lovely, and the scent lasts a long time! A gift from a hardworking Slime to its beloved owner.]

The pretty baby blinked.

"Is this from you?"

"Jigoo~"

Qin Yan's eyes curved with her smile. She held the cool, jellylike Slime against her little cheek, nuzzling it like a kitten.

"Thank you for the present. I really like it."

Qin Yan thanked the Slime with an utterly sincere expression.

The Slime bounced happily and nuzzled her hand.

"Can I give you a name?"

Qin Yan carefully held the jellylike Slime and squished it for a while, then thought it over.

"I'll call you Tuantuan."

After playing with Tuantuan for a while, Qin Yan got out of bed and pushed open the wardrobe doors.

The wardrobe was full of her clothes.

Old Master Fu had bought her lots of them over the past few days. Half were fluffy onesies shaped like all sorts of cute little animals.

The other half were pretty little dresses, meant for when the weather grew warmer.

Today, she chose a kitten outfit.

She worked hard to get dressed by herself.

Then, with her little bottom sticking up, she folded her pajamas and her quilt.

When the butler arrived, he saw the bundle of bedding on the bed, still crooked and lumpy despite her earnest efforts to fold it.

"Well done, baby."

Because she was still so tiny, and so pitiful that she made their hearts ache, the Fu Family's servants all liked calling her baby.

At the praise, Qin Yan hugged Tuantuan the Slime, a little blush blooming on her fair face.

She looked terribly bashful, like a soft, shy little kitten, but her eyes sparkled.

Holding the butler's hand, she went downstairs. Qin Yan had just trotted over to her grandpa and greeted him in her sweet little voice when a rumbling came from outside.

It frightened little kitten Qin Yan into shrinking into a ball. If she had cat ears, they would have flattened backward.

Old Master Fu was furious.

"It must be that brat again. Can't he just drive home like a normal person? He has to show off in that blasted helicopter, as if he's afraid people won't know he's rich."

The old man grumbled and cursed, then turned to soothe the frightened Qin Yan in a voice so gentle it could have melted.

"Be good, baby. Don't be scared. Your eldest uncle's back. He likes doing flashy things. That thing outside is a helicopter, a means of transportation."

Hearing that her eldest uncle had returned, Qin Yan remained hidden behind her grandpa, her little fingers clutching his clothes nervously, but her eyes were full of curiosity.

She pressed her pink little lips together, her voice childish.

"Eldest uncle?"

"Yes, your eldest uncle's back. Come on, Grandpa will take you to meet him."

Outside the Fu Family's old residence, a black-and-gold helicopter with a formidable Pixiu painted on its body hovered overhead.

Its door was open, with a rope ladder hanging from it. A man held on to the ladder with one hand.

When the ladder was five or six meters above the lawn, he simply let go and dropped.

Qin Yan: !!!

"Grandpa, he fell!"

Little Qin Yan was clearly frightened, her voice trembling with urgency.

Old Master Fu's face darkened a little.

"Don't worry. The fall won't kill him!"

Fu Yunting landed with remarkable grace and commanding presence.

He stood about fifty meters from Old Master Fu and the others, wearing a black suit and sunglasses. At over a hundred and ninety centimeters tall, he looked long-legged, yet his proportions were perfect.

As he walked, the whole world seemed to become his stage.

Reaching Qin Yan and Old Master Fu, he slipped both hands into his pockets. Though the gesture was rather casual, he somehow made it look commanding.

"Dad."

The young man had barely greeted him when a palm smacked his back.

"Why are you making such a racket? Afraid someone won't know you, Fu Yunting, are back?"

That slap instantly diminished the imposing man's swagger.

"What was that for?"

The moment he spoke, his cool, commanding air diminished further.

"What, you're not happy I'm back? Should I leave, then?"
