"Mr. Stark, your package is at Stark Tower."
Tony Stark, who was flipping through Playboy in his villa, selecting his bedmate for the night, was interrupted by the artificial intelligence J.A.R.V.I.S.
"My package? Why didn't they deliver it to my home?"
Interrupted from his "selection process," Stark unhappily picked a fight.
"'This is for Happy, just send it directly to the company,' those were your exact words."
J.A.R.V.I.S. replied dutifully.
"A gift for Happy?"
Stark tried to recall, but found no relevant memory.
"When did I ever buy him a gift? I never give gifts to men!"
J.A.R.V.I.S. remained silent, instead projecting a video from Kraft directly in front of Tony Stark, with Stark's own message below the video.
"Oh! I remember now!"
Stark laughed heartily, tossing Playboy aside, and shouted to J.A.R.V.I.S., "Get my car ready, I'm heading to the company now! And contact Happy, tell him the vacation is over, and have him rush to Stark Tower!"
Driving his sports car recklessly through traffic violations, Stark arrived at Stark Tower, where Happy was already waiting at the entrance.
"Tony, did something happen? You actually came to the company on your own initiative!"
Tossing the car keys, which Stark handed him, to the doorman to handle parking and the traffic violations, Happy sidled up to Stark and asked curiously.
"Oh, it's nothing major."
Stark chuckled and led Happy into his rarely used office, where two large boxes were already placed.
"Happy, come take a look at the gift I bought for you!"
Stark happily patted one of the boxes and said to his bodyguard.
"Oh, no, Tony, I don't think I need this..."
Due to the media frenzy, Happy already knew what this so-called gift was, and he was extremely resistant to it.
The kid who came up with this invention must be a devil sent from hell by Satan!
And Tony, he must have been bewitched by the devil too!
"Are you sure?" Tony Stark stared at his bodyguard's round belly and said mercilessly with a sharp tongue, "With your current physique, people would think you're my chef, not my bodyguard, if I didn't tell them beforehand. If I were ever in danger, would you still have the strength to protect me? You look like you're out of breath after just two steps."
"Of course, there's no problem!"
Happy became very agitated when his professional ability was questioned by his employer.
"My physique doesn't affect my combat skills!"
"I have my doubts about that, Happy."
Stark spread his hands and shook his head.
"Think about your physique when you first started working here, and then look at yourself now. You can't even see your toes when you look down!"
"...Maybe I really do need these things..."
Happy lowered his head at this. Although he could still see his toes, the situation was indeed dire. He thought about it and felt he had become too lax over the years.
"Alright, Tony, I'll accept this gift."
Happy slumped his shoulders in despair, as if he could already see his miserable future.
Farewell, my beloved hot dogs...
And hamburgers, cola, fried chicken, popcorn, burritos...
"Fantastic!"
Stark clapped his hands and pulled the dejected Happy over to the Break the Cauldrons and Sink the Boats treadmill.
"Quick, you try this first, let me see how it works!"
"You've been possessed by the devil, Tony!"
Kraft, of course, was unaware that a certain rich man's bodyguard was in deep water because of his invention. He and Fatty Liao were taking advantage of the weekend to deliver the Break the Cauldrons and Sink the Boats Weight Loss Set ordered by Martin Lee to the FEAST homeless shelter.
"Kraft, long time no see, you've become quite famous recently."
As soon as they entered the shelter, a middle-aged woman who looked a bit older approached them, patting Kraft's head and praising him.
"Hello, Aunt May."
"Hello, Aunt May."
Kraft and Fatty Liao greeted Aunt May obediently.
May Reilly Parker, who volunteered at the FEAST shelter year-round, was one of the few Caucasians Kraft respected. People like her, with kind hearts, deserved respect regardless of their skin color.
After a brief chat with Aunt May, Fatty Liao directed the delivery workers to place the weight loss sets in a conspicuous location within the shelter. Given the homeless population's irregular eating habits, Kraft's weight loss set would likely go unused.
However, Martin Lee had mentioned that it could attract people interested in weight loss products to visit and try them out. The shelter could then charge a fee and use the opportunity to promote its services, thereby soliciting donations.
Kraft wasn't sure if Martin's plan was actually feasible, but he certainly had no interest in helping the homeless. After all, when he was homeless with Martin, he hadn't seen anyone come to his aid.
However, according to Martin, he wasn't building this shelter purely out of kindness...
Kraft scratched his head.
Adults' worlds are truly complicated.
Just then, a guy wearing glasses and looking rather clueless emerged from a room in the corner.
"Aunt May, is there anything else I can help with?"
Immediately, he spotted the workers fiddling with the Break the Cauldrons and Sink the Boats Weight Loss Set and Kraft talking to Aunt May. His expression lit up with excitement.
"Kraft!"
Peter Parker ran up to Kraft in three strides, grabbing his arm and shaking it.
"I heard Mr. Stark took an interest in your invention, how enviable!"
"What's so enviable about it? I just sold him something."
Shaking Peter's hand off dismissively, Kraft pouted and looked down on the guy who was four or five years older than him.
Although Peter Parker was Aunt May's nephew and often came to help at the shelter, Kraft didn't particularly like him, though he didn't hate him either. The main reason was that he couldn't stand Peter Parker's usual timid demeanor.
"But this way, you might get to talk to Mr. Stark!"
Peter's thought was exactly the same as Fatty Liao's earlier, but Kraft didn't want to explain it again. Instead of patiently explaining, Kraft was more likely to diss Peter.
"Even if I get to talk to him, that's my business. Why are you so excited? And even if you could talk to Stark, could you even open your mouth? You stutter when you talk to Mary."
"That... that's different!"
Peter Parker's face turned red, and he stammered, trying to retort but not knowing what to say.
Kraft dissing Peter was practically a regular show at the shelter. Hearing it, the people around them burst into laughter, and even Aunt May watched the spectacle with a smile.
She wasn't entirely satisfied with Peter's timid personality, so she was happy to see Kraft provoke him. Perhaps her nephew would change because of it?
Unfortunately, Peter Parker disappointed her. After a few stammered retorts, he found an excuse and slipped away.
"Sigh..."
Aunt May sighed with disappointment. She didn't blame Peter; losing his parents and coming from a poor family, it was normal for Peter to feel insecure. Looking at the young Kraft, Aunt May suddenly understood what the kid meant by "other people's children."
Seeing Peter back down and run off again, Kraft spread his hands at Aunt May and shook his head helplessly. He could only help Aunt May this much.
Even if he disliked people of other skin colors, Kraft, at fourteen, wouldn't casually mock others without reason, especially with Aunt May's connection. He sensed Aunt May's distress, which was why he occasionally helped her by provoking Peter Parker, that blockhead.
Of course, bullying a senior student several years older than him also gave Kraft a sense of accomplishment.
The others at the shelter were the same. Their heckling was all part of stimulating Peter together. Kraft didn't have as good a relationship with people at the shelter as Peter did. Most of the staff here were volunteers who helped out spontaneously; they wouldn't favor him just because he was Martin Lee's adopted son.
"Thank you, dear."
Aunt May stepped forward and hugged Kraft. She genuinely adored this child, who was a bit extreme but very sensible. Martin Lee had been quick to adopt him; otherwise, she would have wanted to take Kraft home herself.
"You shouldn't continue being this 'bad guy.' Peter's personality is already set; this level of provocation won't change him."
Stroking Kraft's small head, Aunt May said with some relief. After a few unsuccessful attempts, she felt sorry for her nephew and decided to let him be. After all, he was just a bit timid, which wasn't a big deal.
"Oh no," Kraft said cheerfully, "It's rare to have a legitimate reason to bully Peter. I'm happy enough as it is."
"You rascal! Suit yourself..."
Aunt May gave Kraft a playful glare but added, "Don't bully him too hard. Your brother Peter's psychological resilience isn't that great."
"I~ kn~ow~"
Kraft drew out his words, agreeing reluctantly.
After chatting with Aunt May for a while longer, Kraft left with Fatty Liao. The shelter work was quite busy, and he didn't want to help. Besides, new experiments awaited him, so it was better to leave early.
Martin Lee's prediction was accurate. Due to Kraft's production capacity, the FEAST homeless shelter managed to catch the tail end of the trend. The Break the Cauldrons and Sink the Boats Weight Loss Set did indeed bring in considerable traffic, resulting in several valuable donations. Financial aid was secondary; the main thing was the job opportunities offered by some bosses, which was truly rare.
However, the trend itself lacked a solid foundation, so it came and went quickly, and Kraft's ears finally had some peace.
Unfortunately, he hadn't enjoyed this peace for even two days before Tony Stark stirred up trouble for him again.
