History

Early Development

The Immortal Alliance rose on a foundation of advanced technology. Across nearly ten thousand years, its technological and cultivation civilizations developed together, producing Cyber Cultivation, formally called the Technology Dao System in Dao Studies 12.

Its earliest Nascent Soul True Lords expended resources, effort, and even their lifespans to draw drifting planar fragments into the alliance's domain. Successive generations transformed these fragments into spiritually rich blessed grotto-heavens. The Lesser Yang Grotto-Heaven reached its later prosperity through several generations of Pure Yang True Lords surnamed Chen 495.

Three Dao academies were established during the alliance's early crises. After Feng Weiyi became its first Spirit Transformation cultivator, Purple Tenuity raised their number to four. Graduates of the Four Academies later founded the Ten Palaces 488.

Suppression of the Blood Demon Sect

More than a thousand years before Bai Yi's encounter with its remnants, the Blood Demon Sect's Blood River True Person sacrificed the hundreds of thousands of inhabitants of a Third-Level City. He refined a Blood River and used millions of souls to advance from Golden Core Perfection to Nascent Soul 14.

The alliance issued an execution order and dispatched five Nascent Soul True Lords. After three years, they destroyed the Blood River and killed him. An alliance-wide hunt then shattered the sect, although surviving evil cultivators continued operating in secret 14.

Bai Yi's Rise and the Three-Domain Conquest

The alliance endured pressure from three neighboring domains for ten thousand years. During Bai Yi's absence, Xue Feng guarded its Dao Domain; Bai Yi later acknowledged that without him, the first Savage Wilderness attack sent by Protector Yi Daoting would probably have destroyed the alliance 479 498.

The defeat of the Blood Tide reversed this position. Alliance forces captured more than 6.7 million Golden Core and Blood Soul cultivators, and Feng Weiyi ordered the fleets into the Fusheng Dao Domain, Blood River Demon Realm, and Longyan Dao Domain. Their remaining leading powers were eliminated within a few months 476 479.

Conquered sect strongholds became smart AI factories producing tens of millions of engineering machines and robots. New deposits of spiritual minerals, herbs, and other resources removed longstanding material shortages and enabled dozens of cutting-edge technological breakthroughs within a single month 479.

Expansion into Langyu Qingming Heaven

The alliance established a Heaven-and-Earth Formation Array, expanded its Dao Domain, and brought all three conquered domains under its laws of heaven and earth. With Xiang Kuang's protection as Domain-Suppressing City's new city lord, it prepared to export cultivation technology and weaponry throughout Langyu Qingming Heaven 483 498.

At Xiang Kuang's sagehood celebration, Bai Yi demonstrated alliance technology across the cultivation arts. Xiang Kuang killed elders who opposed its spread and warned against further obstruction, prompting major factions to accept the technological method 510.

Demand soon exceeded production even after the alliance added several industrial planets. Its partnership with the Luo Family supplied a ready-made commercial network, while the Four Seas Commerce Association became its principal obstacle to expansion 515 516 518.

Territory and Infrastructure

Location or system Function
Ancestral Star Homeworld containing cities such as Qinghe City, with floating towers, spatial rail platforms, AI-controlled hover vehicles, and large spirit-gathering formations 479.
Qunlan City First-Level City and regional examination center, more than ten thousand kilometers from the visiting school delegation's home region 41.
Qunlan Trees Nearly ten-thousand-meter-tall trees supporting buildings and magnetic rail networks. They release spiritual energy and function as subsidiary terminals of Nüwa 41.
Blessed grotto-heavens Captured planar fragments and embryonic Dao Domains cultivated into high-spiritual-energy environments 495.
Pingluan Star and Fenghe Star Sites of smart manufacturing core bases whose production capacity was adjusted during the technology-market boom 515.

Cultivation and Society

Universal Cultivation

  • Every citizen possesses a spiritual root. Universal cultivation produces an enormous cultivator population and equally intense demand for resources 73.
  • Twelve years of compulsory cultivation education are universally available 476.
  • Grassroots support includes affordable cultivation supplies and assessment standards. The alliance's longstanding policy emphasizes strengthening the foundations while selecting the most outstanding talents 73.
  • Family resources remain influential. Exceptional talent can overcome shortages, but many cultivators depend on wealth accumulated across generations 73.
  • Cultivator privacy is strictly protected. Even an examiner considering a Divine Sense investigation of Bai Yi restrains himself because of these protections 48.

Cultivation Paths

Path Characteristics
Dao Cultivation System Pursues enlightenment, self-transcendence, and understanding of the Great Dao. Among ordinary rogue cultivators in Third-Level Cities, it is largely associated with academy students, lineage families, and people with exceptional talent or resources 32.
Technology Dao System Combines technology with cultivation to improve combat capability and, through advanced applications, cultivation potential 12 498.

More than eighty percent of rogue cultivators use technological equipment or implants. A Third-Layer Qi Refining cultivator equipped this way can potentially fight with strength comparable to Late Qi Refining. Many such cultivators make their living hunting demonic beasts and gathering resources in Secret Realms rather than pursuing further enlightenment 23.

Foundational Methods and Standards

  • Minor Five Elements Art: The alliance's standard foundational Qi Refining method. The Heavenly River Supercomputing Photonic Terminal refined it for nearly ten thousand years, reaching an eighth edition incorporating Spirit Transformation ancestors' deductions 2.
  • Five Elements foundation: First-rate academies commonly require students to perfect the art and form a Five Elements Qi Vortex before changing cultivation methods 19.
  • Technique mastery ratings: Introductory → proficient → accomplished → Dao Resonance Minor Accomplishment → great accomplishment → Dao Resonance Perfection 3.
  • Favored disciplines: Talismans, formations, and body refinement flourish because technology can assist them. Sword cultivation historically occupied a middling position, partly because restrictions in the domain's Great Dao prevented earlier sword cultivators from reaching Nascent Soul 43 48.
  • Sword cultivation revival: Bai Yi became the alliance's first sword cultivator True Lord. His example and Green River Academy's success made the Sword Immortal path increasingly attractive to students 481 485.

Education

Academies and Admission

Institution or assessment Role
Advanced Dao Studies Prepares Dao Students for higher education; approved institutions can obtain MXAR virtual-realm equipment 4.
Four Academies Historically the alliance's highest institutions, recruiting students throughout its territory 41.
Ten Palaces Top-tier institutions founded by graduates of the Four Academies 488.
Preliminary Exam Screens final-year high-school Dao Students at more than one hundred examination sites 41.
Heaven's Peak Battle Determines admission privileges; candidates receive A, B, or C ratings 73.
White Rainbow Dao Academy Green River Academy's new name and status as the alliance's fifth top-tier Dao academy, announced by Bai Yi 488.

By the Five-Academy Exchange Tournament period, final-year students needed Ninth-Layer Qi Refining to have a chance of entering the Ten Palaces and Foundation Establishment to enter the Four Academies. The alliance had also distributed numerous Foundation Establishment methods to Advanced Dao Studies institutions 485.

These changes raised the proportion of Foundation Establishment cultivators in society. Graduates of first-rate academies began reaching Golden Core, breaking the former expectation that Golden Core cultivators came only from the Ten Palaces 485.

Training Technology

  • MXAR Fully Real-Constructed Virtual Realm: Developed by the alliance's Five Top Research Groups as an imitation of Secret Realms; used for controlled student assessments 4.
  • Heavenly River Supercomputing Photonic Terminal: Supports long-term refinement of foundational cultivation methods 2.
  • Spirit-conversion training arrays: Can convert spiritual power into particles that cultivators refine more easily and simulate aspects of an elemental origin to assist breakthroughs and comprehension 491.

Technology

Mechanical-Electronic Technology

This branch uses machinery and conventional technological disciplines to let low-level cultivators—or even mortals—threaten higher-realm opponents 498.

  • Warships: Sea-Covering-class vessels expanded exploration into the Gray Realm; later Sky-Pillaring-class strategic capital ships rivaled Nascent Soul combat power 476 498.
  • Personal armaments: External-End Armor supplies Golden Core-level combat power 498.
  • Heavy weapons: Formation Missiles, Cross-Domain Star Annihilation Cannons, and Aerospace Multi-Matrix Dao Domain Strike Cannons support large-scale warfare 498 510.
  • Automation: Smart factories, engineering robots, and centralized manufacturing systems support resource extraction and mass production 479 515.

Spirit-Conversion Technology

This branch places the cultivator at its center, using technology to overcome limits of aptitude, talent, and individual cultivation capacity 498.

  • Artificial Dantian and external spiritual roots: Major developments intended to raise cultivators' potential and upper limits 498.
  • Spirit Treasure Implantation: Combines traditional artifact refinement with technology and spiritual materials. Properly made implants do not damage the user's Dao Path, but their safety and power come at an extraordinarily high price 12.
  • Wisdom-Rhythm Artifact Infant Technology: Used during the Purple Clarity Abyssless Sword's transformation 498.
  • Chip Jade Slips: Link with Divine Sense to increase computing power and transcribe cultivation legacies. The alliance pooled its research capabilities to develop them for Bai Yi's Ancient Road expedition 565.
  • Spirit-conversion storage rings: Incorporate terminal chips and holographic rune support 518.

Cultivation-Arts Automation

Creation Demonstrated capability
Intelligent formation matrix bases Allow cultivators from Qi Refining through Nascent Soul to deploy formations appropriate to their realm, including first-rank formations independently maintained by Qi Refining users 508.
Advanced technological formation artifact Enabled an Early Nascent Soul user to sustain Late Nascent Soul-level power, with confinement, offensive, and defensive arrangements 509.
Pill Cauldron M-01 Type A fourth-tier fully integrated intelligent automatic pill furnace developed by the Weihua Immortal Spirit Technology Group. Allows Nascent Soul cultivators without years of alchemy training to refine pills 510.
Water-path spirit-conversion array A planet-wide fourth-tier array that produces readily usable Water-Spirit Particles and assists water-path comprehension and breakthroughs 491.
Projection Pill Allows remote appearances and conversations; used by Bai Yi to contact the alliance delegation at Three Peaks Heaven 503.

Military and Resources

Armed Forces

  • Combined-arms deployment: Nascent Soul True Lords fight alongside warship fleets, mechs, aerospace fighters, and heavy artillery 476.
  • Prisoner restraint: Spiritual-power-suppressing handcuffs bind captives' dantians and meridians 476.
  • Houyi Planetary Armament: Countered Xu Changning's hundred-weapons divine resonance through formations, defenses, and technological systems. After exhausting his Dao essence, it killed his body and soul with a Pure Yang Arrow 511.
  • Exported defenses: The Azure Water Sect used an orbital weapon base formation to repel a Spirit Transformation demon after alliance technology entered the wider market 516.

Resource Management

Before its conquests, the alliance's spirit veins could barely meet its cities' needs. Spirit Stones were strategic resources, and each of the few permitted mines had a Nascent Soul True Lord stationed there 38.

The captured Golden Core cultivators greatly expanded its available labor for specialized resource production, including tasks requiring continuous spiritual-power irrigation. Combined with industrial processing, this made fuller exploitation of the conquered domains and further Gray Realm operations possible 476.
