Ch. 301The Elders' Competition
After learning Bai Yi was only thirty, the elders of Domain-Suppressing City competed to take him as a disciple, offering valuable gifts and arguing over who could best teach him. Their contest was interrupted when Xiang Kuang, the Eighth Elder, appeared and claimed Bai Yi because he had cultivated the Fragment of the Sun Suppressing Prison Art.
- Lu Yuntang introduced the eight elders to Bai Yi and explained that they could choose Inner City prodigies as disciples.
- The Fifth, Fourth, and Sixth Elders each argued that their knowledge of the Weapon Dao, Formation, or Talisman Arts made them suitable to teach Bai Yi.
- The Seventh and Ninth Elders blocked the others, offered Bai Yi a Proud-Cold Sword-Herding Fruit and Great Demon Blood Essence, and urged him to choose them.
- Bai Yi considered the elders' offers and hinted that he expected the others to show their sincerity.
- Xiang Kuang emerged from the void, threw down a flood dragon's head, and declared that Bai Yi would become his disciple because he had cultivated the Fragment of the Sun Suppressing Prison Art.
- The other elders objected to Xiang Kuang claiming Bai Yi, but Xiang Kuang challenged them to say who else could teach him.
