After leaving the restaurant early, Wang Weiwei was furious. "That bastard again. Pah... just looking at his shifty rat face makes me want to punch him. Back in the provincial capital, he was always opposing my dad. And now what, he's come all the way to Xiahai to humiliate him? Who the hell is he trying to turn against him?"
Su Can smiled. "You really hate him, don't you?"
Lin Zouwen frowned. "Wang Weiwei's dad was transferred out of the provincial department to Xiahai City. Liu Cheng's faction was probably pulling strings behind that, too. Who knows what traps he'll set for Uncle Wang here in Xiahai!"
Su Can stared in surprise at these two precocious fellows with such clear-cut hatreds, wondering what they might get up to if they became the future heirs to the Wang and Lin families.
"Is this Liu Cheng really that powerful?" Su Can asked with a teasing smile.
"Not particularly. We just can't touch him yet," Wang Weiwei said coldly. Then he looked at Su Can. "I'm full of anger instead of food. How about getting some barbecue and eating at our place? They won't be finishing their dinner anytime soon anyway."
Su Can nodded, and the four hailed a taxi to a place that sold barbecue at night. They had a large bag of food grilled, and Lin Zouwen picked up a few bottles of beer from a supermarket before they returned to the Municipal Party Committee Family Compound. Ever since that intimate incident with Lin Luoran in the study, Su Can had always felt somewhat guilty about coming here. Whenever he closed his eyes, he thought of her falling onto him, her fair legs wrapping around him, and her sitting on top of him with that dazed look.
