Chapter 98: Girl across the way, look over here
Su Can, Liu Rui, and Xue Yiyang sat on the rooftop at night, each holding a bottle of beer. Stars glittered overhead. Su Can remembered that the last time they had sat side by side like this had been the day NATO bombed the Southern Alliance embassy.
The three drank their beers, talking about the internet cafés they had recently visited to play games and amusing incidents at school. Xue Yiyang spoke animatedly. Liu Rui was especially interested in the sensational scene at No. 1 High School's Arts Performance when Chen Lingshan turned and hugged Su Can, along with its embellished versions. Listening left him fired up and exhilarated, and he kept saying, "Aren't you a little too damn lucky? How are the rest of us supposed to live?"

"No, we're moving, to Rongcheng. The school's been arranged too. No. 27 Middle School."
"Oh." The two took a swig together, their expressions calm and their movements synchronized.
