Chapter 12: Sister-in-law Can
Past the clean, tidy classroom buildings, Ruan Siou stood on the balcony of the girls' dormitory, gazing at the densely packed shops and buildings. She held a phone that had grown a little hot from being in her hand for so long. Naturally, the person on the other end was one of their circle of friends.
"Hey, Ruan Siou, the girl who played piano at the gala is called Tang Wu, right? She's in your room, isn't she? Find a time to introduce us. Everyone ought to meet a new friend. Liang Yu and those boys would be thrilled if they heard about her. I really loved the piece she played, too."

Ruan Siou thought of how Tang Wu always spoke politely yet kept people at a distance, and of her performance at the welcome gala. She felt that this girl was the kind who was talented and accomplished at school, had depth, and had been doted on since childhood. Although she was not so spoiled that she ordered people around, she never seemed to need to make a deliberate effort to get along with those around her.
Getting her to join their circle would be a long, difficult task. She had her own circle and her own life, after all. Trying too hard would only be counterproductive.
