For Su Can, life now might not have been all that different from before. Facebook was, after all, still an internet startup, and far removed from China. Nanjing University also formed a protective umbrella, shutting out the outside world and allowing Su Can to enjoy a period of peace for the time being. Room 602 was a typical male dorm room. Several pairs of sneakers, washed pale, sat drying on the balcony railing, while wrinkled, wind-dried socks were clipped to hangers, occasionally dancing merrily when a breeze blew through.
