Ch. 21Not enough money to spend!

After distributing money to the Hyuga clanspeople, Shinichi saw how high prices and scarce goods in the Land of Rice Fields were draining the clan’s funds. He decided the village needed trade and settlers, and planned to ask the daimyo for help clearing the bandits who kept merchants away.

  • Hashirama returned to Konoha, and Shinichi ordered his uncle to distribute money to the Hyuga clanspeople.
  • The clanspeople went to town and found rice, cloth, and household goods scarce and expensive, while ninja tools were unavailable.
  • Shinichi’s uncle showed him the accounts and explained that the clan had already spent more than half of the daimyo’s five hundred million ryo.
  • Shinichi rejected taking missions as a solution because the Land of Rice Fields had too few jobs to support the clan.
  • Shinichi concluded that bandits had to be eliminated so merchants and settlers would come, and told his uncle he would visit the daimyo the next day.

Ch. 22Back to the village to wipe out the bandits!

Shinichi secured a six-month bandit-suppression mission from the Land of Rice Fields' daimyo and nobles for three hundred million ryo. He left with Scarface to return to the village and prepare to clear out the bandits.

  • Shinichi and Scarface entered the capital, where a shop assistant told a crowd a story about Shinichi defeating bandits.
  • The daimyo and nobles described how bandits and Wandering Ninja had disrupted trade and occupied farmland.
  • Shinichi promised Hyuga Village would eliminate all bandits and Wandering Ninja in the Land of Rice Fields within six months, or take no payment.
  • The daimyo and noble families agreed to pay three hundred million ryo and sealed the mission in writing.
  • Shinichi took the contract and left with Scarface, saying they would return to the village and prepare to wipe out the bandits.

Ch. 23Bandit purge complete!

Shinichi mobilized the Hyuga ninja to eliminate bandits and wandering ninja throughout the Land of Rice Fields, completing the purge over several months. As the region grew safer, displaced commoners began settling outside Hyuga Village.

  • Shinichi assembled the Hyuga ninja and organized them into more than ninety four-person squads to fulfill the six-month mission.
  • Scarface's squad found dozens of bandits hiding in a mountain cave and incapacitated them after nightfall.
  • A young chunin's squad uncovered bandits disguised as farmers and defeated them before their wandering-ninja accomplice could use ninjutsu.
  • Hyuga squads repeatedly reported success as they cleared bandits and wandering ninja from across the Land of Rice Fields, making the roads safer.
  • Commoner families arrived seeking refuge, and Shinichi instructed his eldest uncle to build earthen houses for them outside the village.
  • A few months later, almost no bandits remained in the Land of Rice Fields, and a cluster of commoners' cottages had grown outside Hyuga Village.

Ch. 24Tobirama: I need to see the daimyo!

Shinichi's village prospered after clearing the bandits, and the reopened trade routes drew merchants from across the region. Hearing how Hyuga Village had succeeded, Tobirama decided to visit the Land of Fire's daimyo to seek a coordinated effort against bandits.

  • Shinichi's uncle reported that the village had received its mission payment and recovered goods worth around one hundred million ryo, while a merchant arrived to open a shop.
  • The daimyo of the Land of Rice Fields and a nobleman praised Hyuga Village after learning it had cleared the country's bandits and wandering ninja.
  • A merchant tested the route through the Land of Rice Fields, found it free of bandits, and prompted merchants from the Land of Fire to send more caravans.
  • Hashirama and Tobirama overheard merchants in Konoha discussing the safe trade routes, and Tobirama resolved to go to the capital to see the daimyo.

Ch. 25Hyuga Village Couldn't Be Allowed to Keep Growing!

Tobirama asked the daimyo of the Land of Fire and its nobles to fund a nationwide mission to eliminate bandits, but they refused and mocked Konoha. Seeing merchants head north to the prosperous Land of Rice Fields, Tobirama returned to Konoha convinced that Hyuga Village's growth had to be stopped.

  • Tobirama proposed that the daimyo and nobles pool money to hire Konoha to clear bandits throughout the Land of Fire.
  • The daimyo and nobles dismissed the proposal, questioned Konoha's work, and said they would only hire ninjas to deal with bandits on specific lands.
  • Tobirama left the residence and saw merchant caravans bound for the Land of Rice Fields, where Hyuga Village had cleared the roads of bandits.
  • Tobirama recognized that trade was bringing money and growth to Hyuga Village and worried that it could become a powerful rival near the Land of Fire's northern gateway.
  • Tobirama set off for Konoha, thinking that Hyuga Village could not be allowed to keep developing.

Ch. 26Two hundred million ryo!

Shinichi learned that Hyuga Village was running out of ninja tools and could not forge more without iron ore. He decided to travel to Konoha to buy supplies, leaving the village with Scarface the next morning and preparing two hundred million ryo for the purchase.

  • Shinichi toured Hyuga Village and saw merchants trading with commoners while villagers cleared new farmland.
  • Shinichi's eldest uncle showed him the ledger and explained that the village's dwindling stock of ninja tools could not be replenished without iron ore.
  • Shinichi decided to buy supplies from Konoha, where major clans had large stocks and Hashirama Senju was on friendly terms with the Hyuga.
  • Shinichi planned to buy ten thousand shuriken, five thousand kunai, and five thousand explosive tags, and told his uncle to prepare two hundred million ryo.
  • Shinichi ordered Scarface to pack and accompany him to Konoha the next morning.

Ch. 27Even Konoha had no supplies to spare!

Shinichi went to Konoha to buy ninja tools for the Hyuga, but Tobirama refused, claiming the village had none to spare. Shinichi left for the Uchiha Clan Compound to meet Madara Uchiha.

  • Shinichi and Scarface walked through Konoha as Shinichi sought ninja tools for the Hyuga, who were running low on supplies.
  • Hashirama met Shinichi, promised to help, and escorted him to the Hokage Building after hearing the Hyuga needed ten thousand shuriken, five thousand kunai, and five thousand explosive tags.
  • Tobirama refused to sell the tools, claiming Konoha needed its limited stock for its own ninja and newly arrived clans.
  • Hashirama apologized to Shinichi as he escorted him out, while Shinichi recognized that Hashirama could not override Tobirama's refusal.
  • Shinichi told Scarface they would visit the Uchiha Clan Compound to meet Madara Uchiha.

Ch. 28Want to do business? Fight me first!

Shinichi visited the Uchiha compound to buy ninja tools for Hyuga Village after Tobirama Senju could not supply them. Madara set aside the business discussion and demanded that Shinichi fight him first.

  • Shinichi arrived at the Uchiha compound with Scarface, and Uchiha clan members gathered to watch him.
  • Madara came out to meet Shinichi and led him and Scarface into his house.
  • Shinichi explained that Hyuga Village needed ten thousand shuriken, five thousand kunai, and five thousand explosive tags, and that Tobirama Senju had refused the sale.
  • Madara criticized Tobirama Senju but did not discuss the price or agree to the deal.
  • Madara awakened his Sharingan and told Shinichi to fight him before they did business.

Ch. 29This kid had gotten even stronger than before!

Shinichi sparred with Madara outside Konoha, using his Tenseigan powers and Hyuga techniques to withstand Madara’s attacks. Hashirama arrived to watch as Shinichi evaded Madara’s armored Susanoo, and he remarked that Shinichi had grown even stronger.

  • Madara led Shinichi and Scarface out of Konoha and began a spar with Shinichi in the wasteland.
  • Shinichi used Tenseigan Chakra Mode and Gentle Fist to match Madara’s taijutsu, though neither landed a strike.
  • Madara unleashed successive waves of Fire Style, but Shinichi stopped them with Rotation and Repulsive Force.
  • Hashirama rushed to the wasteland and arrived as Shinichi used Attraction to pull Madara through the air.
  • Madara formed an armored Susanoo and repeatedly swung its giant blade, but Shinichi evaded every attack.
  • Hashirama watched with Scarface and said Shinichi had grown even stronger since last time.

Ch. 30Two hundred million ryo to make friends with the Uchiha!

Shinichi bought a large supply of ninja tools from the Uchiha for two hundred million ryo, turning the purchase into a gesture of friendship between their clans. As news spread through Konoha, Hashirama realized Tobirama had deliberately refused to sell supplies to the Hyuga, and a Senju ninja went to report the Uchiha’s public claims.

  • Madara ended his spar with Shinichi after realizing he would need his complete-body Susanoo to defeat him.
  • Shinichi offered Madara two hundred million ryo for shuriken, kunai, and explosive tags, including extra money to befriend the Uchiha.
  • Madara accepted the Hyuga’s friendship and ordered Uchiha clan members to bring out the requested supplies.
  • Hashirama watched the Uchiha carry out the crates and realized Konoha could have supplied the Hyuga, but Tobirama had made excuses to refuse.
  • Uchiha clan members told people in Konoha that the Hyuga had paid extra to buy from them, and a Senju ninja hurried to report the news to Tobirama.

Ch. 31The innately evil Uchiha!

Tobirama learned that the Uchiha had sold ninja tools to the Hyuga after he refused to provide supplies. In Hyuga Village, Shinichi decided imported iron ore was too costly, so he left alone to search the surrounding mountains for deposits.

  • A Senju ninja reported that the Uchiha had sold the Hyuga a large shipment of ninja tools at a premium, and Tobirama called the Uchiha innately evil.
  • Hyuga ninja tested their new shuriken and kunai while Shinichi considered establishing a local production line.
  • Shinichi asked a merchant about iron ore and learned that transport to Hyuga Village made it far too expensive to forge tools profitably.
  • Shinichi decided to search the Land of Rice Fields mountains himself, relying on his Tenseigan to locate iron ore.
  • Shinichi instructed several Hyuga jonin to maintain the village's routines, then set out alone into the mountains.

Ch. 32Chakra Metal!

Shinichi searched the mountains of the Land of Rice Fields and discovered connected veins of iron ore, chakra metal, and coal. He chose flat ground beside a river as the site for a ninja-tool production base.

  • Shinichi used his Tenseigan to search the mountains for iron ore over several days.
  • Shinichi found a vast iron ore vein, broke through the mountain wall, and confirmed the ore was heavy and hard.
  • Shinichi discovered chakra metal mixed in thin strands through the iron ore and tested how it conducted chakra.
  • Shinichi found coal beneath a nearby mountainside and recognized it as a stronger fuel than firewood.
  • Shinichi noted that iron ore, coal, and a river were all nearby, then chose flat ground beside the river for a ninja-tool production base.

Ch. 33Five Million Ryō to Settle In!

Shinichi organized a riverside workshop in the Land of Rice Fields to produce ninja tools for Hyuga Village, hiring local workers and recruiting swordsmith Gengorō from the Land of Iron. The chapter ended with Gengorō arriving at the workshop and asking what the piled black rocks were for.

  • Shinichi told the Hyuga jonin that he had found an enormous iron vein and ordered them to start building a workshop beside the river.
  • Hyuga ninja cleared the workshop site, built wooden sheds, and piled black rocks from a nearby valley beside the clearing.
  • Shinichi posted a notice offering civilians one thousand ryō a day and two meals to work at the workshop, drawing eager applicants.
  • Shinichi traveled to the Land of Iron and offered Gengorō and his craftsmen five million ryō to settle in and make tools for Hyuga Village.
  • Gengorō accepted the offer and brought several craftsmen back with Shinichi to the riverside outpost, where he asked what the black rocks were for.

Ch. 34Iron Can Melt into Liquid?

Shinichi introduced coal, rich iron ore, and plans for a towering furnace that would cast ninja tools, while Gengorō doubted the unfamiliar methods. The chapter left Gengorō questioning why Shinichi had recruited hundreds of untrained civilians to work in the workshop.

  • Shinichi told Gengorō and the craftsmen that coal would fuel the furnaces more effectively than charcoal.
  • Gengorō inspected the iron ore and praised its quality, but questioned Shinichi's plan to melt it and cast tool blanks in molds.
  • Shinichi said the workshop would build a furnace at least ten or fifteen meters tall and pour molten iron into prepared molds.
  • Several hundred civilians recruited by Hyuga Village arrived at the outpost, and Shinichi said they would assist the craftsmen.
  • Gengorō warned Shinichi that toolmaking required years of training and asked why the workshop needed so many inexperienced workers.

Ch. 35Hundreds in a Single Batch!

Shinichi organized hundreds of civilians to make ninja tools by dividing the work into simple tasks, despite Gengorō's doubts. After the new furnace was built and fired, it produced hundreds of kunai and shuriken blanks in one batch, leaving Gengorō examining the results.

  • Shinichi explained to Gengorō that civilians would each handle one step of making kunai, while he would take responsibility if the plan failed.
  • Gengorō and the Land of Iron craftsmen warned that dividing the work would ruin the tools, but agreed to follow Shinichi's orders.
  • Hyuga jonin assigned civilians to mine ore, dig coal, crush ore, and learn to make molds and bellows.
  • Shinichi oversaw construction of a large stone furnace, which melted iron and sent it through channels into kunai and shuriken molds.
  • The civilians broke open the cooled molds and revealed hundreds of rough tool blanks, astonishing the craftsmen.
  • Gengorō picked up a kunai blank and examined it closely.

Ch. 36Broken at a Touch!

Shinichi discovered that impurities from raw coal made the mass-produced kunai brittle, so he had the civilians turn the coal into coke and ordered the blanks smelted and reforged. With hundreds of new kunai finished, he prepared a test against the old weapons from the Hyuga clan’s former grounds.

  • Gengorō tested sharpened mass-produced kunai against an anvil, and each one broke despite cutting wood cleanly.
  • Shinichi used his Tenseigan to find impurities in the broken kunai and raw coal, then ordered civilians to burn the coal under earth until it became coke.
  • Shinichi had civilians smelt iron ore with the coke, while Gengorō and the artisans reheated and hammered the resulting blanks before civilians sharpened and polished them.
  • After several days, Shinichi summoned Hyuga ninja to fetch old kunai and instructed them to strike the old and new weapons against each other.

Ch. 37My selling price is lower than your costs!

Shinichi proved that the Hyuga’s mass-produced kunai were exceptionally durable and organized the riverside workshop to produce ninja tools at far lower costs than rival clans. With the storehouses overflowing, he planned a distributors’ conference to make Hyuga Village the source of ninja tools across the Shinobi World.

  • Two Hyuga ninja tested new kunai against old ones, and the old kunai broke while the new ones stayed intact.
  • Gengorō and the craftsmen tested the new kunai themselves, confirmed their quality, and began overseeing the fully operational workshop.
  • Shinichi calculated that each kunai cost about five hundred ryo and each shuriken about three hundred, then set prices below rival clans’ production costs.
  • Over a month, the workshop produced fifty thousand kunai and eighty thousand shuriken, filling Hyuga Village’s storehouses.
  • Shinichi told several Hyuga jonin to invite ninja clans and shinobi villages to a distributors’ conference, aiming to supply the entire Shinobi World.

Ch. 38The Uchiha Had to Show Their Support!

Shinichi’s Hyuga Village invited Konoha and the major clans to a conference to present its mass-produced ninja tools for sale. Tobirama suspected the Hyuga intended to trade directly with the clans, while Madara decided to attend and support the conference, and other clan leaders prepared to go as well.

  • Shinichi sent Hyuga jonin across the Shinobi World with invitations to a distributors’ conference.
  • A Hyuga jonin told Hashirama and Tobirama that Hyuga Village could mass-produce ninja tools cheaply and planned to sell them to distributors.
  • Tobirama learned that the Hyuga had invited individual clans as well as Konoha, suspected they were bypassing the village, and decided to attend.
  • Madara received an invitation, decided to visit Hyuga Village in person, and Uchiha clansmen discussed buying tools and supporting the conference.
  • The Sarutobi, Shimura, and Ino-Shika-Cho clans also prepared to attend after hearing that Tobirama and Madara would be there.

Ch. 39All Parties Head for Hyuga Village!

The Aburame clan leader and the leaders of Sunagakure, Kirigakure, and Iwagakure decided to send representatives to Hyuga Village’s Distributor Conference, each hoping to learn more about the Hyuga Clan and its ninja tools. Their parties set out from across the nations, all heading for the Land of Rice Fields.

  • The Aburame clan leader chose to attend the conference himself and told his clan to delay replying to Konoha’s invitation.
  • Reto sent Shamon to inspect the quality of Hyuga Village’s ninja tools.
  • Byakuren sent Hozuki Gengetsu to observe the conference and assess the Hyuga Clan, though Kirigakure did not plan to buy the tools.
  • Ishikawa sent Mū to probe the strength of the Hyuga Clan.
  • Shamon, Hozuki Gengetsu, Mū, and the Aburame clan leader set out with their parties toward Hyuga Village.

Ch. 40If the Hyuga Could Do It, Why Couldn't the Kaguya?

The Hyuga Clan invited neighboring clans and villages to a ninja-tool distributors' conference, prompting the Kaguya Clan to consider founding its own village instead of joining Kirigakure. After learning that Shinichi Hyuga had abolished the Caged Bird Seal, the Raikage ordered A to seek Byakugan, while delegations from across the region headed toward Hyuga Village.

  • A Kaguya clansman delivered the Hyuga invitation, and the Kaguya clan leader decided to send several clansmen to visit Hyuga Village and renew ties.
  • Kaguya clansmen argued that their clan should establish its own shinobi village rather than serve under the Mizukage, while their leader kept his thoughts private because negotiations with Kirigakure continued.
  • The Raikage sent Kumogakure ninja to investigate Hyuga Village, and they reported that Shinichi Hyuga had led a rebellion that killed the Main Family and abolished the Caged Bird Seal.
  • The Raikage ordered A to take men to Hyuga Village and try to bring back a pair of Byakugan.
  • Takigakure, clans from the Land of Hot Water, Kusagakure, Amegakure, and the Uzumaki Clan sent representatives toward Hyuga Village.
