The middle-aged man looked at Luo Fan, a trace of confusion flashing through his sharp eyes.
"What year are you from?"
He repeated the question, seemingly finding it rather baffling.
But he answered anyway.
"2024."
2024?
Luo Fan stirred inwardly.
2024 was the very year the Weird apocalypse had broken out.
He pressed, "What month?"
The middle-aged man frowned, but still answered, "May."
May.
Luo Fan silently did the math.
May 2024 was less than a month before the apocalypse broke out.
He took a deep breath and said, "My name is Luo Fan. I'm from 2026."
The middle-aged man's pupils contracted slightly.
2026?
Two years later?
He stared at Luo Fan, his gaze growing more solemn.
"You... you mean you're from two years in the future?"
Luo Fan nodded.
The middle-aged man fell silent for a moment, then asked gravely, "What are things like two years from now?"
Luo Fan held nothing back.
"In the summer of 2024, the Weird apocalypse broke out. Humanity suffered devastating casualties. The survivors could only keep moving and fleeing."
He briefly described the apocalypse, just as he had to Zhao Xuan.
As the middle-aged man listened, his expression grew increasingly grave.
But he did not look as distraught as Zhao Xuan had.
He simply nodded silently and murmured, "Just as I thought..."
Just as he thought?
Luo Fan keenly picked up on those words.
"You knew?" he asked.
The middle-aged man shook his head. "It was just a premonition. Over the past few years, strange phenomena have been appearing around the world. People have gone missing, and strange energy fluctuations have appeared in some places. The higher-ups have been suppressing the news, but I knew something would happen sooner or later."
He paused and looked at Luo Fan. "Thank you for telling me."
