Fusion Core (Fragment) Quality: Radiant HP -200/hour Maximum HP +100/day (permanent) Attack speed +2.0/s Movement speed +4.0m/s Armor +100 Upgrade: 1/100 (???) Swallow a core, and my fate is mine, not heaven's. Once equipped, this equipment cannot be removed without special means.
Zhou Heng's pupils contracted sharply as he stared at the equipment in his hand in disbelief.
This was actually a piece of equipment that drained Health on a virtually permanent basis, deducting 200 Health every hour. That meant losing 4,800 Health a day.
Though the cost was considerable, as long as he could withstand it, the rewards were also incredibly generous: a permanent gain of 100 Health every day.
That permanent daily increase of 100 was not to be underestimated. Accumulated over time, it would amount to an immensely frightening boost.
And this was only a "fragment" of the equipment. If he repaired it, how much maximum Health could it grant each day?
Zhou Heng could not imagine it. His experience was not yet that extensive.
But there was one thing he could consider: if he equipped this item that he did not know how to remove, could he withstand the Health loss?
After some calculations, Zhou Heng swallowed the Fusion Core without hesitation.
[You swallowed the Fusion Core] [You are merging with this equipment] [The Fusion Core has merged into your heart] [Equipment successfully equipped]
With the Fusion Core successfully equipped, Zhou Heng's attack speed rose from 1.0/s to 3.0/s, while his movement speed increased from 1.2m/s to 5.2m/s. An improvement of this magnitude was certainly not something a point or two of attributes could match.
Despite the risk of losing 4,800 HP every day, Zhou Heng thought it was worth it. As long as he kept the Sakast Imperial Sword (Holy Sword) in hand, he could endure it for two days. With healing potions as well, he should be able to balance it out.
The only thing he needed to watch out for was the enormous quantity of healing potions required. But with over thirty million copper coins in hand, would he lack resources?
As he thought, Zhou Heng threw several punches in succession and quickly adapted to his current Attack Speed and movement speed.
But just then, creaking sounds came from every direction.
Looking closely, he discovered mechanical, dog-like monsters closing in on him.
Mechanical Hound Level: 15 Attack: 57-114 Magic: 0-0 Durability: 10000/10000 Mana: 0/0 Armor: 20 Attack speed: 1.8/s Movement speed: 2.5m/s Skills: Laser Eyes, Cutting Light Blades
Unlike creatures of flesh and blood, these mechanical lifeforms had durability instead of Health.
Not only that, but the armor of these mechanical lifeforms was frighteningly high.
With 20 points of physical protection, ordinary players would truly need some tricks to break through their defenses.
Ten!
A hundred!
A thousand!
Soon, the Interstellar Wreckage around Zhou Heng was packed with Mechanical Hounds.
An inexplicable red glow shone from their dark mechanical eyes as they swept over Zhou Heng again and again.
Zhou Heng drew the Sakast Imperial Sword (Holy Sword) and faced them head-on without dodging or retreating.
Boom!
With a dull crash, the Mechanical Hound closest to Zhou Heng lunged at him. Searing laser beams shot from its mechanical eyes so quickly that Zhou Heng had no time to dodge.
-57!
The instant he was attacked, Zhou Heng unleashed the powerful attack speed granted by his equipped Fusion Core.
Four sword strikes in one second sent the other two Mechanical Hounds following close behind the first flying.
With their durability as high as ten thousand, Zhou Heng still needed some time to kill a Mechanical Hound.
Soon, Zhou Heng successfully cut down a Mechanical Hound.
[You killed a level 15 Mechanical Hound] [EXP +50]
For monsters at level 15, players who had completed their first advancement gained 50 EXP per kill, while players who had not could gain 150 EXP. Both were calculated by multiplying by ten.
The Mechanical Hounds surged forward one after another, never slowing because those ahead had fallen.
-57!
-1103.5!
-57!
-1103.5!
Zhou Heng and the Mechanical Hounds traded blows through hundreds of exchanges.
[You leveled up to level 12] [Random increase: Health +50] [Four-star class effect activated] [Additional Health +250] [You leveled up to level 13] [Random increase: Health +50] [Four-star class effect activated] [Additional Health +250]
Zhou Heng's level began to soar. Soon, he rose from level 11 to level 16, gaining a full five levels.
Whether it was luck or not, the random attribute increases for all five levels after his first advancement went to Health, granting him a full 1,500 Health.
This increase was definitely a welcome surprise for Zhou Heng as he was now. After all, Health was what he lacked most at present.
"Give it to me!"
"Give it to me!"
"That's mine... mine..."
Just as Zhou Heng was downing healing potions to keep his HP healthy, a low, hoarse, booming voice came from deep within the Interstellar Wreckage. It was not a human voice.
The next second, a giant mechanical hand reached out of the Interstellar Wreckage. Pressing against the ruined walls and severed limbs within the wreckage, it gathered itself together and climbed up little by little.
Soon, a five-meter mechanical monster formed entirely from wreckage fragments appeared.
Krosa Mecha Wreckage (boss) Level: 20 Attack: 120-240 Magic: 0-0 Durability: 100,000/100,000 Mana: 0/0 Armor: 100 Attack speed: 2.0/s Movement speed: 3.0m/s Skill: Endless Repair
Compared with the level 15 Mechanical Hounds, the level 20 boss, Krosa Mecha Wreckage, was far more terrifying.
Setting everything else aside, its 100 physical defense alone was enough to make ordinary level 20 players balk.
Without special means tailored to it, even attacking a boss of this caliber as a group might not work, unless the attackers were an army of mages.
But mages would likely have trouble dealing with the surrounding Mechanical Hounds.
And the Interstellar Wreckage Secret Realm allowed teams of only six. Having to handle the Mechanical Hounds while also confronting the Kalosa Mecha Wreckage made things even harder for such a team.
Unfortunately for it, however, the person it had encountered was Zhou Heng.
With the Sakast Imperial Sword (Holy Sword) equipped, Zhou Heng had a physical attack of 1123.5-2247. Even after subtracting its 100 armor, damage at this level could still deliver devastating hits of over a thousand.
Combined with the 4.0/s attack speed and 7.2m/s movement speed he had after equipping the Sakast Imperial Sword (Holy Sword), soloing a boss on the level of the Krosa Mecha Wreckage was no problem.
Zhou Heng held his sword across his body, a fierce, chilling light in his eyes. The next second, ignoring the surrounding Mechanical Hounds, he launched his first charge at the Krosa Mecha Wreckage.
