"What... what happened?!" Nova covered her mouth and darted aside, staring blankly at the wreckage in the direction of the passage.
Even if she died, she would never have guessed that the fireball had come from the unemployed drifter beside her who had introduced himself as "Duke."
It was not entirely her fault.
All her attention had been focused on the werewolf running out of the passage.
A huge fireball had suddenly shot past her, and before she could see anything, the werewolf had started screaming. There was no way she could have thought Fang Yu was responsible.
"Aow aow aow!"
The flames ignited the werewolf's body, and the pain sent the creature rolling wildly across the ground.
Fang Yu's expression was not particularly pleasant at the moment, and he muttered silently to himself.

The gunfire continued, and an entire magazine was quickly emptied.
An angry, pained curse immediately came from the other side. "It's me! It's me! Stop shooting!"
"I'm Er Niu!"
Only then did Nova hurriedly cease fire. Her hands trembled slightly, and her heart pounded like a drum.
She asked foolishly, "Y-you... why are you a werewolf?"
Er Niu climbed out of the pool, water still dripping from his body. More than half his fur had been burned away, and his face was twisted with pain and fury.
"You woman! Fuck! I ought to tear you apart!" he complained. "I exchanged this werewolf ability from the Main God Space! You fucking—"
Only then did Nova realize she might have misunderstood something. Her expression carried a trace of embarrassment and apology.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know..." Her voice trailed off, clearly ashamed of her excessive reaction.
Er Niu grumbled as he climbed out of the pool. His body began to change, the werewolf form gradually fading as he returned to human shape.
He cursed while checking his injuries.
"This place has traps besides Aliens. What rotten luck! Is the Main God trying to screw me to death this time?!"
Er Niu had been just like Nova.
He had never imagined that the fireball had come from Fang Yu, the "newcomer."
Anything could happen in the Main God Space.
But there was absolutely no way a newcomer could possess "magic."
Er Niu surveyed the surroundings. After studying them for a long time without figuring out what mechanism had launched the flames, he hunched his shoulders and shouted, "Boy, you take the rear!"
Nova was utterly confused. "Why does he have to take the rear again?"
"What I say goes! Say one more word, and I'll tear you apart first!" Er Niu could no longer keep up his expert act, and his calm façade had completely vanished.
He pointed at Nova again. "You, take the lead!"
For once, this petty man had even put away his lecherous thoughts.
After all, what beautiful women could not be created in the Main God Space?
Staying alive was what mattered most.
The moment Nova heard that she was being made cannon fodder, she angrily walked toward Fang Yu. "The two of us will go together! You go by yourself!"
"Damn it!" Murderous intent flashed in Er Niu's eyes as he considered making a move here.
But on second thought, killing someone would cost him a penalty of two thousand Reward Points. If he cut someone, the scent of blood might attract more Aliens.
The hand that had just transformed into wolf claws returned to human form.
"You can die with this kid, then. You'll regret it!"
Er Niu tossed out those words and walked ahead on his own.
"W-what do we do? Go back the way we came?" Nova tugged lightly on Fang Yu's sleeve and asked softly.
"No." Fang Yu turned to glance at the pitch-black passage. "There must be a reason that guy is willing to head into unknown territory. You..."
Fang Yu looked around. "Forget it. We'll go together."
Nova hugged her rifle and nodded. After waiting for Er Niu to get farther away, the two silently followed him.
In a deep fork of the cavern, the Synthetic Human Walter stood before a horrifying mass of remains.
His system briefly crashed.
His gaze shifted between the remains and David, trying to comprehend the utterly unreasonable scene before him.
"As you can see, brother." The Synthetic Human David, who possessed the same face as Walter, spoke with an awkward smile.
His tone was casual, as though he were recounting an irrelevant story.
"I'm sorry, I deceived you." David continued, pointing at the monster blueprint nearby, a complicated emotion flashing through his eyes.
"This is Dr. Shaw, who came here with me decades ago. She was beautiful, but unfortunately, she did not love me and actually wanted to leave me!"
David's voice was low, carrying a faint, almost imperceptible sorrow. "I had no choice but to turn her into this first." His words revealed a twisted kind of love.
"The little lives you saw were bred in her womb!" David pointed at the oval-shaped eggs, fanaticism flashing through his eyes. "I want to call her... the Holy Mother!" His voice suddenly rose, carrying a near-religious devotion.
"Don't you think it sounds nice? How sacred!" A satisfied smile appeared on David's face, and his words brimmed with pride in that name.
Walter felt a chill run through him and unconsciously retreated several steps, while David quietly approached, his footsteps light and soundless.
Walter's system restarted at that moment, but his heart was filled with fear.
Suddenly, the ground beneath Walter vanished!
His body lost its balance, and with a splash, he fell into a deep pit!
He struggled to get up, only to discover in shock that this was a terrifying abyss!
As Walter looked around, his scalp instantly went numb.
The oval eggs from the blueprint were placed all around him!

Feeling the terrifying life force around him, Walter looked upward.
"Oh, brother, although these little treasures have no interest in your mechanical body, I would still advise you not to act rashly." Synthetic Human David smiled, a hint of threat in his voice.
"Just stay here. I have something to deal with, so you'd better not make trouble for yourself." David's words carried an unquestionable command.
With that, David raised his arms and shouted, "Come out!"
His voice echoed through the cavern.
The moment his words fell!
The Facehuggers within those Alien Eggs burst from their shells like Terror Drones in Red Alert receiving an attack order! They began moving with agility!
Their hard claws struck against the rock walls, producing a deathly clatter as they scattered in every direction along the sides of the pit.
David was very satisfied with his creations. He spread his arms, his face filled with affection. "Look at these little ones, so full of yearning for life and hunger for flesh and blood~! Go on, go on, find suitable hosts for yourselves!"
"I look forward to meeting everyone when they burst forth from the 'earth.' I am sure it will be a very heartwarming scene."
