Amegakure.

Jiraiya's left arm hung at his side, its bone broken in two places. Blood dripped from his fingertips, diluted pink by the rain.

Six people stood opposite him.

No, not people.

Six bodies, three pairs of Rinnegan, their ghostly purple glow dazzling in the curtain of rain.

The Deva Path stood at the front, his short orange hair soaked and plastered to his forehead, looking down at him expressionlessly. His face was identical to Yahiko's, but his eyes held nothing a living person's should.

The Asura Path's right arm opened, revealing densely packed machinery inside. Six tracking missile barrels were charged with chakra, ready to fire a volley at any moment.

The Animal Path, Preta Path, Human Path, and Naraka Path stood on either flank, sealing off every escape route.

Jiraiya wiped the corner of his mouth with his still-mobile right hand and bit his thumb.

"Summoning Technique."

Two clouds of smoke rose from his shoulders, and Sage Fukasaku and Sage Shima landed on his left and right shoulders.

The moment Fukasaku landed, he saw those three pairs of eyes. The old toad's face wrinkled like a walnut.

"Little Jiraiya, the Rinnegan? Isn't that the legendary..."

"Lord Fukasaku, less talk. Buy me some time."

Sage Shima smacked the back of Fukasaku's head.

"You heard him, you old fool. Get to work."

Senjutsu chakra began pouring from the two toads into Jiraiya's chakra pathways.

The Deva Path raised his hand.

Without waiting for his order, the Asura Path fired all six barrels. Chakra tracking missiles hurtled toward Jiraiya, trailing white exhaust.

"Gamaken."

A giant toad burst out of the ground, holding his shield across his body. Every missile struck the shield, and the blast threw Jiraiya more than ten meters into an iron tower's crossbeam, cracking at least three ribs.
