Ryuto looked down at Kaguya, waiting for her answer.
Kaguya lay on the ground, blood streaming from all three eyes. She opened her mouth but said nothing.
Ryuto waited three seconds.
"Then that's a no."
He raised his right hand, and ki began gathering in his palm. Although the Spirit Bomb had nearly drained him, he still had enough ki to finish her off.
Golden specks of light lit up in his palm.
Kaguya stared at the light, her pupils contracting.
Ryuto was about to press his hand down.
Just then-
A whisper of wind came from behind.
It was faint, almost inaudible.
But Ryuto sensed it. He hadn't heard it; he had sensed something coming from behind, moving incredibly fast, already about to strike the center of his back.
He instantly darted aside.
Whoosh.
An invisible force skimmed past his shoulder and missed, striking the ground with a soft thud. A fist-sized hole appeared, its bottom nowhere in sight.
Ryuto landed and turned.
There was nothing behind him. Only the allied forces sprawled in the distance and Kaguya lying even farther away. No one else.
"What's going on?" Yotsuki A shouted. "Ryuto, what are you dodging?"
Hyūga Sōto propped himself into a sitting position and scanned the area with his Byakugan active. "I... I don't see anyone."
Sarutobi Sasuke rubbed his eyes. "Is something there?"
Ryuto said nothing. He pushed his senses to their limit.
Nothing.
Apart from the allied forces' faint ki and Kaguya's nearly dissipated chakra, there was nothing else nearby.
Strange.
That attack definitely hadn't been his imagination. The hole was still there in the ground.
Ryuto frowned and looked at Kaguya again.
Kaguya still lay there, but her eye-the Rinne Sharingan on her forehead-suddenly flashed.
The light was very faint.
Ryuto's heart tightened.
A trap?
